life after the wedding felt like a dream to both taehyung and jungkook. they both felt like they were dreaming. it had been a couple of months since the wedding and life was back to normal. they had their normal schedules, work was back after the long holidays. 

taehyung was quite happy going back to work, he actually really missed it. he loved being able to stay home with jungkook, the kids and his pup baby as he likes to call it- but he loves his job and he misses it. he spent a couple of weeks during the holidays, at a defence course that his job paid for him to get some sessions. 

which he thought he also needed.

he definitely learnt a lot and he felt a little more prepared if anything were to happen. with work starting back up taehyung decided to get a nanny for the children. which was jungkook's mother, oddly enough. taehyung felt bad that his husbands mother would spent most likely most days at their house but she did not care. 

she wanted to spend everyday with her grand-babies and she was quite attached to tannie. 

"is she taking them to hers?" taehyung asked his husband who had wrapped his arms around his waist. "yeah, hope that is okay?" jungkook asked. 

"of course it is, i trust her the most with them" 

jungkook hummed as he pecked the males neck. it was a little early in the morning, they were waiting for jungkook's mother to show up so they can leave for work. 

"is she taking tannie?" taehyung asked pointing to the three bags that were packed by the wall. 

"yup" jungkook replied slightly with a giggle passing his lips. 

"thats so cute" taehyung laughed, grabbing his phone from his pocket to take a picture. 

"you looking forward to going back to work?" his husband asked, picking up haru. 

"yes, I really missed it- I cant wait for the cases and more training" the brunette replied- a big smile plastered on his face as he thinks about all the work he has to do. he turned his head around when he heard his husband chuckle. 

"are you not?" he frowns. 

"I am, just really cant be bothered dealing with dori" taehyung laughed at his husbands reply. 

"she definitely likes you babe" he continued. 

"I know!, some of the officers came up to me and told me to stop leading her on. I have told her atleast seven times that I dont have feelings for her" jungkook complained. 

"I bet you when we go back to work and I tell her I am married- I bet you she will still act the same" he groaned, already getting frustrated by just talking about her. 

after jungkook's mother picked up the kids and tannie, they left for work quickly. they decided to just go in the same car. when they arrived, they were greeted by jimin and yoongi when they walked into the office. 

"it feels like its been forever since we last saw you" jimin pouted hugging his bestfriend who smiled. 

"you were over yesterday" taehyung replied hugging back, holding back a chuckle. 

"same thing" jimin laughed before pulling away to hug jungkook. 

"you guys ready to get back into it?" yoongi asked

"yes so ready" taehyung replied. 

"lets head to the meeting now, everyone should already be there" 

it felt good being back to taehyung, this was where his life started to have a purpose. even though he had some bad experiences here he still had some pretty decent ones. once they walked into the meeting room that had a long table with many chairs circled around it- they found a seat and sat down. 

there were many different words and writing on the board, some files and papers on the table. this room was one of the main places for people to solve cases. to jot down questions, ideas or thoughts that they needed to keep in mind. 

"welcome back everyone, just want to say thank you to the people who stayed over the holidays- you all did great" sir said walking in with a grand entrance. 

"before we start I just want to let you know officer olivia, was fired last year for what she did to officer kim and all the team she could of put in danger" sir said nodding towards jungkook and taehyung who smiled back at him. 

taehyung loved sir in all honesty, he thought he was such a cool boss. he really cared about his staff and his team always came first. he was admired by everyone that worked at the police department. as much as everyone had to respect him as a boss, people respected him as a person even outside work. 

"this is gonna be a busy year, we have all the departments on the board and the names under it are the people that are involved in that department. we are changing up the names of the departments and the titles roles." sir said stepping back so people could read the board. 

"so we will start with the investigation department, officer kim is the head of that department. the investigation covers homicide, suicide, cold cases- you get the point" sir said and went through the names involved in the team. 

"officer park, will be working with officer kim. since officer park is part of evidence you both will work together" 

taehyung smiled as he looked at jimin who gave him a fist bump, he was happy to be alongside his bestfriend. he knew how well they worked together, they could really make a difference together. 

"chief kim and chief jeon are involved in every department, everything runs through them."

"we dealt with a lot of cocky bastards last year and I expect you all to respect your teams and leaders" 

"also for the departments if some people on the team wanna suggest something or are having problems you go to your department leader not to chief kim or chief jeon. the only people that go to them are department leaders" sir said 

"we will trial this and see how this works out, we did some designing with the place. every department has there own area, there will be signs on the doors so people know. 

"new scan cards will be at the front desk with daisy so please grab them before you start" sir nodded.

"any questions?" 

"I noticed dori is not here?" an officer asked.

"oh yes, she is doing some training experience overseas with a few other officers here so you may seem some new people"

"do we have trainee's this year?" an officer asked. 

"yes, and there will be a camp this year so it would be great some of you could attend" sir replied eyes gazing over the officers to see if anyone else had any questions. 

"alright, I want everyone to go to their own department and I will come in and check in soon. I would like to see taehyung in my office before we start" sir announced looking towards the male he just mentioned who smiled and nodded.

"dismissed" 

taehyung stood up from his seat as everyone else did, pushing their chairs in and walking out the room. "you going to be okay?" jungkook asked- a hand placed on the male's back. 

"of course" the brunette smiled, pecking his husbands cheek before walking down the hallway. with a quiet knock on the door and a 'come in' from sir he entered the office. 

"taehyung, thank you for coming to see me. how was your holiday?" he asked pointing towards the seat for the male to sit down. 

"it was really good, how was yours?" taehyung asked his boss who gave back a small smile. 

"quiet"

"I would like to apologise for everything that happened last year, and if you need anything please let me know" sir said voice sincere. 

"I appreciate that a lot thank you, you have already done so much for me. especially with making me a lead of a department even when I have only been here for a round a year" taehyung replied. 

"your good at what you do, I can see the passion in you and a lot of the people here need that in a leader. jungkook will be around if you need anything also. you can go back now, just wanted to have a little chat" 

taehyung smiled, letting out a few thank you's before leaving the room and heading towards the front office. "daisy? can I have my card please?" he questioned. 

"of course you can detective kim" she smiled spinning her chair around to the keycards. 

"how was your holidays?" she asked 

"it was beautiful, how was yours?" taehyung asked watching her grab his car and swipe it a couple of times on a machine. 

"it was really good, got to spend some time with family and got to relax. was ready to come back to work though" she laughed. 

"tell me about it, sometimes being here makes you feel like you have a purpose" taehyung replied.

"that is exactly what I was saying to my husband, he did not get it though" she laughed after clipping a land-yard onto the card, handing it to the brunette who thanked her. 

placing it over his head and letting it dangle around his neck. "these are so much better then last year ones" taehyung muttered

"that is what i thought when i saw them, officers got so annoyed when they went to go swipe their cards only to find out its lost" she chuckled. 

"oh yes, it was the main topic every lunch break" taehyung laughed. 

"thanks daisy" the male said before rushing towards his department. 

he swiped his card and smiled when he heard a beep and a green light show, he pushed the doors open and let out a 'wow' as he looked around the large room. their were whiteboards along some of the black walls, a few tables and chairs around the room. a large tv screen with a computer connected to it. 

a few desks scattered around for his team, file cabinets were along the wall. coffee machines and a mini kitchen in the corner. taehyung loved it, he thought it was such a cool room. 

it looked incredible, it had everything they needed. he smiled at his team who were chatting by the desks. it went quiet when he stepped in, but it did not faze him. 

"morning everyone, this room is beautiful" taehyung said smiling when the others nodded. 

"how are we feeling?" he asked. 

it was a very quiet response, he frowned a little- he looked around the room to see no one looked like they really wanted to be there. "whats going on guys? it looks like you all wanna go home?" taehyung questioned. 

"its just the same stuff every year, we get handed all the paper work- we dont get to actually get to solve anything or be apart of cases. we basically do the after-math" a officer said, taehyung's eyes traveled to the name tag and smiled. 

"officer garrett, i do really appreciate you bringing that topic to light" 

"it is important for me to know my team are okay, safe and happy in doing what we do. we do what we do to get family closure, we cant bring loved ones back. but what we can do is take away the people that hurt their families and give justice to those who lost their lives" 

"you will be in every investigation, this year things have changed and it is important that there is a balance. I can see why you all would be frustrated. I will make sure you all get to make a difference" was the last thing taehyung said before the doors were opened and jungkook walked in with sir and namjoon behind him.
