  BIRDIE PETTIGREW WANTS A LOT OF THINGS. Can you really blame her?

  Firstly, she wants world peace. Golden hearted girl, she's never wanted to bestow anything but peace and love onto everyone around her — although, that is easier said than done when it comes down to the sour characters she sees kicking about at her school. Then again, the world would be awfully boring if everyone was the exact same, and she's never been able to settle for boring. Birdie supposes that the world needs some darkness to dilute her sugary sweetness. ( It's hereditary! She can't help it! )

Second on her list is all of the ABBA vinyls manufactured on planet earth — scratch that, the entire universe. She could never limit their talent like that! Their music is too good to be considered anything but interplanetary. What music do aliens like to listen to, anyway? Would she have to be the one that introduces it to them? Maybe she should add a flying saucer onto her long, long list. . .

Finally, she really wants Dorcas Meadowes to notice her! Birdie's getting really sick of Ravenclaw's head cheerleader distracting her during all their quidditch matches, and she's been thinking hard about actually doing something to get her attention once and for all. She's seen every technique in the playbook before after bearing witness to James Potter's antics for almost six years, revelling in his melodramatic splendour as, well, every girl except Lily Evans begins to swoon. She could always take a leaf out of his book, but she isn't sure how effectively she could pull off one of his infamous stunts without making a fool of herself. At the end of the day, Birdie's a Pettigrew, not a Potter.

But she's beginning to learn that that's not an excuse! She's an honorary Potter at best, and she should start acting like one! Merlin, Sirius' pep talks are really starting to do wonders for her self doubt. Birdie digresses.

With the reassurance of her ( brother's ) best friends, she's made it her goal of the year to win Dorcas Meadowes' heart before her final exam is over, or her name isn't Bernadette Pettigrew!

Though she'd really prefer to be called Birdie. . .
