「Kabedon」
Chiba slammed his hands towards the wall of the now-empty classroom, pinning the shorter Hayami Rinka on it.
“Oh.” Hayami said. The space between them was very narrow, and it was enough for her to see some parts of Chiba’s red eyes. They seemed to look at her intensely, like there was something he needed to say.
The black-haired boy decided to inch closer to Hayami, before he froze, leaned away, and covered his whole face while sitting down on the nearest chair. Hayami could see glowing red forming on his face- he was blushing.
“Hey.” The peach-haired girl reached out to her partner, whose face was still flushed with embarrassment. They didn’t say anything for a while.
“Was that too much?” He finally spoke.
Hayami thought for a while. “...Maybe.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.”
More silence.
“I feel like you were trying to tell something.” Hayami said, remembering the way his red eyes were intensely, nervously gazing at her. “Was that… supposed to be a confession?”
Chiba let out a sigh. “Yeah, I guess.”
“... But, a kabedon?”
“... I don’t know either.”
“Oh.” Hayami said, hesitating whether to add something else.
“I like you too.” It was a whisper. Normally, it could have been hard to hear that but it was no problem because of the nearly empty classroom. Chiba shockingly looked at the green-eyed girl who was beginning to blush.
“Ah. Thank you.” He finally decided on saying but regretted it a moment later. “Let’s be together from here on out.” He raised his arm, and so did she.
“Partners?”
“Partners.”
---
“It was Koro-sensei’s idea.” Chiba said, still sitting on the chair.
“Wait- that means-!” Hayami pulled out her gun and started scanning the room for any signs of a gossipmonger octopus.
She opened the window to see the rest of the class, yellow octopus included, staring at her with smug looks on their faces.
