"i thought you said you came here every thursday." taehyung was currently watching the younger boy, who was the most excited of the four to get on the ice, clutch onto the wall and stand still.

hoseok just shrugged and watched his roommate sway slightly back and forth to the music the dj was playing. "he likes the lights." he said to taehyung.

thursday nights were disco night, the ice skating rink turned into a party with colorful lights turning the room into a moving rainbow with music filling the huge room. jungkook loved it too much to miss a single night.

"i'm going to help yoongi get the food, you drag jungkook off the ice to eat." hoseok said, leaving the side wall to go find his friend.

taehyung just nodded and pushed himself off the wall, he was a decent ice skater, he could keep himself up and go forward, nothing near the talent of those zooming past backwards and forwards and on one foot.

"are you having fun?" his deep voice scared jungkook until he realized who it was, hitting the older boy on the chest. "announce yourself next time." jungkook pouted.

taehyung just chuckled, "next time i will." he said, watching the youngers eyes follow people skating around and bobbing his head gently to the music. "hoseok is getting food, we can do a few laps before eating."

"laps like that." the small boy looked unsure, pointing at one of the girl skaters flying by fast with her hair trailing behind her like a cape.

"fuck no, i cant even do that." taehyung said.

"i'm okay here, im having fun." jungkook nodded, but he seemed to be convincing himself more than trying to do so for the older.

taehyung could tell this was the case, "come on, i went around twice and you barely moved."

"that is not true!" the younger had playfully glared up the brunette boy, and if he wasn't wearing skates he may even have stomped. "i made it to here all the way from the entrance."

that was true. except the entrance was about four strides away from where they currently stood on the ice.

"excuse me." a tug was felt on the back of taehyungs shirt, causing the two friends to look down at a little girl and boy holding onto the wall. "oh, sorry, after you." taehyung slid to the side and grabbed jungkooks elbow to pull him off the wall to let the little kids past. "they're going faster than you kook."

"well you don't have to be a jerk about it." jungkook huffed before shaking the older grip off his arm and turning around to skate away, throwing a glance over his shoulder, "are you coming?"

it was a second and the older was by his side, the two still skating quite slow, but taehyung didn't mind going at the pace jungkook was comfortable with.

"do you not like to skate?" taehyung asked, wondering why the boy seemed to come all the time but remained unsure about heading further onto the ice.

the thought never really occurred to the ravenette, he always came and enjoyed himself regardless of how that was carried out. most of the time, hoseok and yoongi would play in the arcade or go buy drinks to have and chat. jungkook wasn't a fan of drinking and not the best at video games, he was usually left to skate alone and enjoy the music by himself. it was odd to have someone at his side right now.

"i do." he said after some thought. he always did so much thinking. "they always play pool when i skate."

taehyung knew he was talking about his friends, they didn't even get skates. "does that bother you."

jungkook shook his head, "of course it doesn't, they're happy."

the boy must've been the sweetest thing taehyung has ever met. it felt wrong to even be near him when his soul was so pure and innocent and just so kind. "will this become a regular thing then as well?" taehyung snuck a glance beside him to study the youngers features, "every thursday, coming here together like paradise smoothie." he said.

jungkook almost tripped on a chipped piece of ice and took this chance to not remark to that question. with almost falling, taehyung gripped his arm with one hand and the other going immediately for his waist. "clumsy." taehyungs voice was close, way too close then he thought it would be.

but nearly falling and having the instinct to grab onto the closest thing, and to jungkooks poor heart, it wasn't the wall.

shivers had run down the small boys spine as he looked up and nearly bumped noses with the brunette, who had a smirk playing on those pretty pink lips. "sorry." jungkooks voice was barely a whisper.

"i'm not complaining." taehyung said, giving the boys waist a light squeeze before letting go and making sure he had his footing. "do you wanna go eat now? we can skate more after."

jungkooks cheeks were a bright pink, thankfully hidden by the many colored lights around the rink, "yes." he said, somehow grabbing onto the older boys hand and staying close to his side.

taehyung looked down and rose an eyebrow at the action, not that he was opposed in the slightest. "so i don't fall." jungkook explained.

"of course." taehyung chuckled, skating them to the side and dragging the boy to the entrance, going a little faster than before and not missing the wide smile on his face.

the boy came off the ice in a fit of giggles, holding onto taehyungs arm and eyes sparkling with delight, "we should just do that! why do i even have to skate at all." jungkook laughed.

"let's go eat, i'm starving, and then we can do just that." taehyung gave the younger boys hand a squeeze before they walked over to one of the tables that yoongi was sitting at, various foods sat out from basic nachos to a dish of chicken and even a bucket of fries.

"oh, i'm gonna help hobi hyung with the drinks." jungkook left taehyung alone and ran off to the concession after seeing his hyung struggling to carry all four cups. the youngest boy going to grab some straws and napkins on the way.

it was a bit awkward being left alone together, the two boys not quite associated with each other and it didn't seem like there was a want to change that. taehyung however, he'd always been the bigger man and small talk wasn't his weakness. "so, how long have you known those two?" he wiggled his finger over at the two roommates trying to balance the cups in one of those cardboard holders, somehow laughing their asses off about something.

"long enough." yoongi said. the boy seemed vague in all its sense of the word.

"long enough?" taehyung repeated. he wasn't quite sure what to do with an answer like that, and quite frankly, he wasn't a fan of the way this stranger was looking at him.

"yes." yoongi said, his hands were folded together above the table and his eyes narrowed slightly. "long enough to know jungkook shouldn't be hanging out with you."

"excuse me?" the brunette scoffed, a smile almost appeared on his face because this whole conversation was becoming amusing to him. "are you his mother or something?"

yoongi didn't crack a smile or falter slightly in his expression at the slight insult. he knew he was older than this boy who came out of no where. "i don't know what your intentions are-"

taehyung cut him off there with a chuckle, "my intentions? and how would you know what those were?" he rose an eyebrow and leaned back in the plastic chair. "i met the boy in a smoothie shop, not some alley where i was trying to pick him up."

before more could be said, only a silent glare was shared between the two boys before each cut their frustration out, hearing the light voice of the raventte returning with a giggling hoseok right behind him. "voila!" jungkook set the cup holder down before taking a seat next to taehyung, who was feeling pretty good knowing the younger chose to sit next to him and not some grumpy older across the table.

"i got you an ice tea because i know you don't drink soda." jungkook said, taking one of the cups for taehyung and earning a smile in return, "that's perfect thank you."

jungkook just smiled and sipped on his own soda, feeling the cool drink spill down his throat and sent goosebumps up his arms. he was starving now that he thought about it.

the sound of his stomach grumble made taehyung chuckle quietly beside him, pushing the bucket of fries over for the boy, "dig in kook."

"you should try the chicken, jungkookie," yoongi cut in, "it's the best here, i'm sure you'll like it."

"he doesn't eat meat." taehyung said flatly, glancing across the table at the source of his annoyance before taking a fry for himself. he remembered that was one of the first things jungkook wrote on his smoothie cups when they were exchanging facts and he was too shy to speak more than five words.

jungkook just nodded since taehyung spoke for him, "thanks though, but now there's more for you so enjoy hyung." he pushed the chicken over and continued to eat his fries, occasionally passing a few over to the handsome brunette beside him.

the night couldn't have been better, except for the slight flash of warning that came after each subtle jab he'd throw at yoongi, going unnoticed by the innocent boy beside him, and instead of the angry reaction taehyung expected, all he got was an eerily calm smile.
