the days started the same now for both boys, each looking forward to seeing the other and exchanging few words that seemed to resonate for the rest of the day. it didn't go unnoticed by his friends that taehyung would skip out of the cafe earlier than before, no longer picking up girls in yoga pants in his convertible. although, none of them think they've ever seen him with a girl in his car.
that car was everything to him. not even namjoon was able to get a ride before.
"you know," taehyung started, he had the same mango smoothie in his hands as every morning this past week, this time hanging by the counter to talk to the younger, "it's not very fair that you know more about me than i do of you." he said.
jungkook looked up at the older boy before glancing at his group of friends, already hanging by a table near the window waiting for the girls to show up. "you don't ever ask." the young boys voice was soft, overcome with some form of intimidation, no matter how often the two have talked every morning.
"maybe i should start." taehyung was watching the younger fiddle with anything around him, maybe it was the damp rag but there was only so much one could clean the counter. jungkooks little bowl of strawberries had ran out and he was trying to busy his hands somehow. "what's your favorite smoothie?" he tried, taehyung wasn't in the mood to leave yet.
"cherry."
"great, i'll take one of those." taehyung pulled out his wallet and found a few more bills, "for the way home."
"are you sure?" jungkook asked, the older boy hadn't done much out of his usual routine of strolling in here with his casual smirk and pretty hands reaching for the same smoothie. "of course," taehyung insisted, "besides, now i know one more thing about you."
the ravenette just nodded, turning to ask yeosang in the back for some cherries while he went to grab the yogurt and almond milk. taehyung enjoyed watching the younger work, the boy was very organized, always lining up the things in the order he'd use.
it didn't take very long, the bright red color spilling into the clear plastic cup as jungkook poured it carefully. he paused, the marker in his hand, there was a twist in his stomach but jungkook tried for once in his life to not be a nervous mess.
"thank you." taehyung took the second smoothie and gave the boy a smile, "i'll see you tom-" he cut himself off when glancing at the cup, noticing the familiar scribble of words on the side.
my favorite color is purple.
"now you know two things about me."
the corner of taehyungs full lips pulling up into that gorgeous smirk, the one that makes jungkooks insides warm and his knees weak.
"i look forward to knowing more, jungkook."
the small boy felt a smile show on his own blushing face, there was no way he could deny liking the way his name rolled off the older boys tongue.
"i'll see you tomorrow." taehyung winked, walking past his friends once again and leaving down the sidewalk to find his precious car.
today was an easier day, taehyung had no mandatory plans later that night which would result in the usual bodily discoloration and pained knuckles. he was almost out of cigarettes. tonight he'd have to go out.
it didn't take long for the few hours to pass, eventually the sun had dipped and taehyung was tossing another empty bottle of beer into the waste bin. the alcohol never made up for the lack of cigarettes.
"hey, hyung." taehyung said, hearing his friend finally pick up the phone, "is that party still on for tonight."
"yeah it's down by 118, and the club where changmin fed that puppy the beer and pretzels?" namjoon said, he was quite surprised to hear from the younger guy, he's been pretty distant from the usual partying and drinking behavior.
"i know the place, see you there." taehyung said, hanging up the phone and tossing it onto his bed so he could go find a new outfit to wear. his shirt smelt like smoke.
it was an odd pattern, one only he could pull off with his stunning facial features and tan skin exposed by the unbuttoned fabric. taehyung checked his watch, 10:05 pm.
"better late than never." he mumbled to himself, the keys to his cadillac dangling from a ring clad hand as he strolled down the hallways down to the city streets below.
lights lit up the street trying their bests to steal people's attention, the bars and clubs opening with music flowing out of the doors and parents leaving for bed while young adults and teens filled the city in skimpy clothes and high hopes for a night of fun.
a few girls looked taehyung up and down as he slid into his car, their eyes asking for a ride in more ways than one. the handsome boy just scoffed and pulled out into the road, he only had eyes for the party and the promises it had.
"i'm really surprised you decided to come." namjoon told him once they met up inside the apartment. the music was loud and the people were sweaty, drinks littered the floor with some articles of clothing and cheese puffs.
"i was bored." taehyung said. the two each grabbed a beer from the cooler, they knew better than to take from the punch bowl.
some of his gym friends had shown up, following the same pretty girls they drooled over before and after their workouts. it was almost pathetic, the way these girls would attempt to play hard to get but throw these parties just to take their clothes off five minutes after the first drinks were passed around.
namjoon seemed like he was going to say something, but was cut off by an obnoxious cheer of the youngers name, "taehyung!" changmin slurred, he came stumbling over with a cup in his hand, the liquid splashing out the sides. "you actually came!"
"i was thinking you were becoming a bore." changmin said, standing close enough for taehyung to smell the alcohol on his breath. "did you come alone?"
the drunk guy was too busy rambling about nonsense for taehyung to get any words in, not that he planned to anyways. he just watched with an eyebrow slightly raised, only pausing his judgmental attitude to take a sip of the beer. "of course you came alone," changmin fell into a fit of laughs before choking and letting out a cough. "you should have brought that little fruit boy, he's cute."
taehyung froze at the mention of the boy from the smoothie cafe, narrowing his eyes slightly at his so called friend. "oh yeah?"
"sure," changmins words were still slurring, a suggestive twinkle in his eyes as he sucked in a sharp breath, "i never paid much attention until," hiccup, "until you did. he's so pretty, imagine how pretty his lips-"
"alright," namjoon interrupted, hitting the drunk guys shoulder, "i think that's enough to drink for you buddy, let's get you some water."
"bring fruit boy next time, i wanna taste." changmin smiles, patting taehyungs cheek before being dragged away by namjoon and somewhere else in the party away from the eerily calm boy.
taehyung just sipped his beer, the grip on the can had gotten tighter as each word reached his ears, his face remaining expressionless, but it contradicted greatly with the rush of irritation flooding his veins, only calmed by the thought of the little raventte himself.
