TWENTY TWO — ex degenerate

            IT WAS THE START OF A NEW SEMESTER, the spring semester. just a couple of months until graduation and college. the all-valley had come and gone. daniel was the new champion and johnny was no longer defending champ or a member of the cobra kai dojo. after the incident in the parking lot, he decided to quit cobra kai, so did the other boys. that still didn't stop them from practicing karate and being the popular guys in school.

bella and johnny had spent more time together and even spent new year's eve with chrissy and the guys. they had all gone up to a secluded part of the hills to have some drinks, but once it was midnight, the couple went off to a private area away from their friends and kissed under the fireworks, for good luck in the coming year.

it was the first day back to school from winter break. bella brushed her hair as she hummed to the music on her radio. she put her shoes on and headed downstairs to get some breakfast. she made herself toast and poured herself a glass of orange juice. she ate her toast and drank her orange juice as she got her book bag ready.

once bella finished eating, she heard a car arrive in her driveway. she walked out of the house to find her boyfriend's red car parked in her driveway. she locked her door and placed her keys in her pocket. she walked towards the car as she opened the door to the convertible.

"hey you." bella smiled as she put her seatbelt on and leaned over to kiss johnny. she smiled into the kiss as he softly groaned. "how's your bod?"

"better now that you're here." johnny smirked as he leaned over to kiss bella as he placed his hand on her thigh.

"you're full of shit." bella smirked as she kissed him once more. the couple kissed passionately as their tongues intertwined. bella giggled as he went down to her neck and trailed his hand up her thigh. "i'd hate to ruin the moment, but we have to get to school."

"but i missed you." johnny said as he frowned. "i missed my princess."

"yeah, yeah, i missed you too." bella laughed as she straightened her blouse. "let's head to school. chrissy's probably wondering where i am and the guys are probably looking for you."

"okay, but after school, i get to kiss you as long as i want." johnny said as he started the car and turned up the volume on the radio.

"fine. step on it before i change my mind, lawrence." bella laughed. johnny drove into the highway as van halen blared through the car speakers. she had gotten used to the loud music so early in the morning and she didn't mind it. bella smiled as her boyfriend hummed along to the radio and tapped the steering wheel to the rhythm of the song. once the couple arrived to school, chrissy and the guys spotted them and made their way towards them.

"only a couple more months and we're out of here." chrissy smiled as she held her books to her chest. "i can't wait for spring break."

"it's only january." bella laughed as she hung her book bag on her shoulder. "the days'll go by quicker than you think."

"so , how's everything with pretty boy?" chrissy smirked as she turned to look at johnny who was talking with the guys. "that was quite a kiss, back on new years eve. where's this going?"

"what do you mean?" bella said as she ran a hand through her hair. "we're happy. that's all that matters right now."

"bella, you're leaving to new york in the fall, what's gonna happen to you and johnny?" chrissy sighed. "how serious is this?"

"we haven't really made plans because i haven't received anything from new york." bella said. "once i get my acceptance letter, we'll make plans."

the bell rang, meaning it was time for english. bella met up with johnny in the hallway as they walked to class together. he placed a kiss on her temple and wrapped his arm around her waist. as the couple walked to class together, they spotted ali and daniel walking in their direction as well. bella felt johnny tense up and she felt him grip her waist a little bit stronger as she said hi to ali.

"why does larusso keep staring at you like that?" johnny said as bella arrived to her locker and organized her books. "i thought he was with ali?"

"don't start with this." bella sighed as she grabbed her english book and notebook. "all valley's over, chill out. you're jealous or what?"

"i just don't want him staring at my girl when he has his." johnny said as bella closed her locker door and headed to english.

"i'm yours, don't worry." bella smirked as johnny placed his arm around her waist. "i'm your girl."

"hell yeah, you are." johnny smirked as he tightened his grip around her waist until he lowered his arm and placed his hand in the back pocket of her jeans. bella felt her cheeks heat up and bit her lip.

it was now lunch time and as usual, bella and johnny snuck off to go eat with each other. they headed to the little diner and ordered their usual : a cheeseburger with large fries, a coke for johnny and a cherry coke for bella.

"what are you doing after high school?" bella said as she dipped one of her fries in ketchup.

"what do you mean?" johnny said as he took a bite from his burger. "like after we graduate?"

"yeah." bella said. "i applied to nyu and if i get accepted, i'm not gonna be here much longer."

"nyu?" johnny smiled. "that's great babe. why nyu though? i thought you would attend ucla?"

"i went up there to visit a relative of mine and i just liked it. it's definitely colder compared to the valley, but i like it." bella smiled as she took a sip from her cherry coke.

"i haven't really thought about where i wanna go or what i wanna do." johnny sighed. "i would like to get out of the valley and just work. i just want to be able to have money of my own to keep me stable."

"it's not official yet." bella said as she took a bite from her burger. "i haven't received anything."

"they'd have to be insane not to accept you." johnny smiled as he reached over and intertwined his hand with hers. "i'll tell you what. if you get accepted, we're moving up there together."

"you're shitting me." bella laughed as she took a sip from her cherry coke.

"nope." johnny smiled. "we'll move up there together. we'll get a small apartment close to campus. while you study, i'll find a job and we'll make it work. besides, the day where sid finally kicks me out of the house is getting closer and it would be fun to see a different view for a change. i'll take care of you."

bella smiled as she held her boyfriend's hands in hers and played with them. "and what happens if i don't get accepted and i end up attending ucla?" bella smirked as she waited to see her boyfriend's response.

"same thing." johnny said. "we'll rent an apartment near campus and i'll work while you study. whether it's in new york or here, i'll take care of you bella, i really will. i'll make sure we have enough money to make it and if not, we'll figure it out."

"where's johnny lawrence and what'd you do to him, stranger?" bella laughed as dipped one of her fries in ketchup. "you really thought this through? you see a future in us?"

"yeah." johnny smiled as he placed a kiss on bella's hand. "i love you and i wanna be with you every step of the way. as corny as it may seem, i really wanna be with you, for as long as we can."

"there's my ex-degenerate talking." bella smiled as she leaned over and kissed the blonde boy in front of her. "as much as i loved talking about our future together, we still have gym."

bella and johnny threw their trays away and walked out into the parking lot. bella got into the passenger seat of the red convertible as johnny started the car.

"you know, when we get our own little place, it'll just be the two of us, alone. we'll spend lots of time getting to know each other, if you know what i mean." johnny smirked as he placed a hand on bella's thigh.

"and he's back." bella laughed as she ran a hand through her hair. "we'll do whatever you want, but we need to get to gym first."
