A day for myself is all I need.
Without expectation, without obligation,
A day free, to just be ‘me’…

Tired of living for others,
I wish for a life of my dreams.
Free of those prying eyes, nefarious gazes,
A day when my words flow, my pen screams.

All my life I have lived an illusion,
An illusion burning deep inside.
My scorching soul has been withering aloud,
A day for leaving everything behind.

Is that too much to ask for?!
Am I being too greedy?!
Just a day to my own self,
Allowing the lost child inside fly freely.

If I may dare,
A day for myself is all I need!
To go back to my roots, uncover my passion,
And rise like a Phoenix, striving yet again to succeed.
