So I'm on fall break, and so I took this as an opportunity to catch up on some homework AND to rewatch some good ol' Naruto. 😂

So I went back, rewatched the Chunin exam arc, the Zabuza arc, the very first Itachi arc, watched the Naruto Movie Clash in the Land of Snow for the first time (which wasn't as good as, say, The Last or Will of Fire which are still my favorites) but it was still pretty nice.

So after doing some rewatching and also watching for the first time, I've come up with a few things I wanna say:

FIRST: Naruto the Movie Clash in the Land of Snow - Sasuke and Sakura's Combo

The two get more screen time together than I thought they would. One of my favorite moments was towards the end (shouldn't contain any spoilers) when the team's fighting off some Land of Snow ninja. Sasuke and Sakura have somehow been teaming up and fighting together throughout the whole movie. Even from the beginning's first chase scene, the two were working together.

But THIS particular scene not only highlighted how super cool Sakura is (NGL she was SO SO SO amazing and super cool in this fight) but their teamwork and Sasuke's relying on her.

It didn't show at the beginning of this rough clip, but Sasuke was calling to Sakura asking her where the enemies were. This was some real teamwork here that made me proud of these two and that truly, they were teammates before they were lovers.

So if you don't care much about an unstable plot, annoying characters, and just wanna see these to interact, I recommend the movie if you haven't seen it. If you have, hit me up and discuss it with me 😂.

OH let's not forget THIS gem. 😭💙

SECOND: Some Team 7 Healing Symbolism

So this might be long and pretty symbolic, but hear me out. Trust me, it's got some Sakura and SasuSaku implications to it.

So when I was going through some of the mid-series episodes, I came upon one of my favorite filler arcs (the curry of life arc when Naruto goes out to fight another Hidden Mist Swordsman with Lee, Neji, and Tenten).

Towards the start of the episode was Naruto at the Hokage's office passing by Sakura, who was standing on a balcony there at the office. He went to see what she was doing and she was holding a bird that, she explained, she was trying to heal.

Soon after that, the bird was able to fly. Naruto was super excited for her, but she was still slightly concerned that although the bird was healed, it was cut off from its friends. Soon after she said that, the bird met up with two other birds, they flew around for a bit, and left. After that, Sakura and Naruto looked at each other and smiled.

So you're probably wondering where the heck SasuSaku is in this NaruSaku moment.

Lol yes I admit, this is a cute NaruSaku moment where Sakura's not actually hitting Naruto. But I somehow saw this scene and immediately thought of this:

Sakura healed that injured bird, who was then able to fly away to rejoin its friends. More specifically, its TWO friends. That injured bird, I saw it as Sasuke.

Ultimately, after thinking about this overblown symbol, I thought of THIS scene.

Sakura (yes and Naruto, but more literally Sakura) healed Sasuke physically, mentally, and emotionally, pulling him back to be with his friends. She healed him so he could be free and fly again when he was broken and couldn't get back.

I could totally be overthinking this but either way, it makes me happy. 😭💙😂

THIRD AND FINALLY: Boruto, Sasuke, and Sakura - Changing the Time Stream

ALRIGHT so I hope we all know what's been going on in Boruto Naruto Next Generations this current arc. If you don't know, to celebrate Naruto's 20th anniversary, they've totally made all the time-travel fanfics come true and sent Boruto and Sasuke to the past, back to when Tsunade became Hokage and Sasuke had just left the village.

I won't go into too much detail, but I just wanted to talk about what seriously stood out to me.

(Side note: I loved the episode, it was so nostalgic, and ngl I cried at the end)

Alrighty, so people on social media have been talking about what Sasuke said here and adding "Boruto's LITERALLY with his dad, how much closer could you get???"

I agree, it doesn't make too much sense, especially taken the fact Sasuke's like "gotta be careful with everyone we know" and literally talks to Naruto, Jiraiya, and Tsunade. Not to mention Boruto even talks to his own dad, and with a big mouth like his, Boruto's more likely to ruin the time stream than Sasuke.

Yet even THEN, the only person either of them REALLY avoids is Sakura.

I thought about this, and after multiple episode rewatches, I got even more sad at the thought. (a good sad, not bad sad)

EXPLANATION

"Sakura and I are too close... It is possible that we will affect the future."

Sure, something can happen to Naruto and the whole Boruto even being born or Naruto becoming Hokage could get totally thrown outta whack.

But personally, I somehow got a slight idea that maybe Sasuke was scared of taking any risks or chances. He avoided Sakura of all people maybe because he was scared of what would happen if she recognized him or if he said the wrong thing.

I saw somewhere that Sakura would've known right away that it was Sasuke, and that's very plausible too.

What I've explained here, this, is what I mainly think. That maybe Sasuke was really not willing to risk anything at ALL because he was scared that any interaction with young Sakura would change his future with his wife Sakura, and that makes me feel super sad for him that he feels that way and that he can't talk to her if he wants things to be the same between them in the future.

He wasn't as worried about changing his future with Jiraiya, Tsunade, even Naruto. The only person that's apparently the closest to him, the only person that he wasn't willing to risk anything at all for, even if it meant finding young Naruto faster, is his own wife. After all, he said so himself in Retsuden that she was everything to him, she was his family, he needed her, and he didn't know what he'd do if he lost her. 😭😭😭

AGAIN, could totally be reading too deep into things, but it's just a theory of mine.
