Let's go back in time and remember episode 104 of the original Naruto anime series!

Now, this is part of the arc when Team 7 is burdened with the mission of guarding the deusch-bag jerk runner Idate Morino... And in this arc, there is a number of SasuSaku moments...

For example, when they washed up on shore after the Ship fire, Sakura's unconscious, and Naruto is getting ready to do mouth-to-mouth 😂... Then when she sort of opened her eyes and looked up, the first person she saw was Sasuke, and he was watching her with a concerned face. And he literally could've just left her and taken Naruto and left, saying that this was a waste of time. He's had so many of these opportunities but just doesn't leave her. Rather in that one filler ep in Shippuden when Team 7 is looking for the cat print, when Naruto was being chased after by the cats after having his cover blown, Sasuke was more than willing to leave Naruto and take Sakura. So he could easily leave Naruto in that case, but I honestly couldn't think of a moment when he left Sakura. Even after the Chunin Exams, fighting Gaara, he saved Sakura when she went unconscious trying to save him, he caught her from falling and left her with Pakuun, then told him to take care of her. That's pretty rare of him.

Anyways, back to the Idate arc.

Then on the burning boat, Sakura took a kunai in the shoulder for Idate, and when she cried out in pain, who's the first face the camera actually pans over?

It's such a small cut, but that face screams "She's hurt!!!!! 😱 SAVE HER!!!" or "OH NO SAKURA!!!"

I mean, Naruto actually yelled her name, but Sasuke, of course, couldn't reveal anything so early in the series. I mean, eh-heh, it's only episode 103... 😅

Next goes on to episode 104.

Idate is all beaten up by... Okay I won't spoil anything. But he gets beaten up, and the four of them take shelter in a cave. Naruto is all like "get up and be a man!! You have to finish this race for blah blah name I won't say because spoilers" and grabbing him by the collar. Sakura's just like, "stop it, Naruto! He's not in any condition to continue!"

Naruto doesn't stop and continues. He suggests that if Idate can't run the rest of the race that he get on Naruto's back and Naruto run him to the end, just the two of them, implying they leave Sasuke and Sakura at the cave. Alone... In a cave... At night...

Sakura urges him to stop and walks closer to Naruto, then THIS happens...

So... you can interpret this in two ways.

1) Sasuke's implying that if they go, they'll only get in Naruto's way.

Or...

2) Sasuke just wants to be left alone for the night in a cave with Sakura Haruno.

That sly dog, Sasuke... 😂
