Chapter 26 - Withstanding
Warning: This chapter is a bit... bloody.
So... uh... just letting you know beforehand.
Error's POV
I stared in complete shock at the traitor. I was so stupid not to notice, I should've known.
It was difficult as I tried to speak through the Athenal Oxide. All I wanted to do was to punch her in the face but I couldn't because I was fucking paralyzed.
'Jess.'
She didn't have any expression showing as she turned to walk away. I felt a growl raise from my throat. Both of the male and female exited the room.
Soon after, the chemical began to disappear. As I waited for my mobility to return, I listened to the three people talk with one another.
Male: The chemical has proven that it works.
Jess: I told you. I'll have to go back and get more. What you just released in the cell was all that I gave you. There's only one formula for it and Ink's father always has it on him. No one knows how to make it.
A smile showed when I heard that they no longer had the chemical. My movement came back to me. Standing up, I walked over to the window. A window was installed so the scientists could watch me. All of three of them was facing away.
I stared at them as I felt my anger grow. I analyzed the window. It was bulletproof, meaning it was really thick. However, that didn't stop me from what I was fixing to do.
Raising my hand, I punched the window. The high amount of force behind it caused the window to severally crack. It didn't break but it was damaged. I huffed.
'That should have been stronger. These damn magic cancellers are affecting my physical strength somehow. That's unfortunate.'
The sound of the window cracking scared Jess and the male. They backed away from the window as they stared at me in shock.
Female: Send the Weapon to the torture room.
I waited for the guards to come into my cell to get me. I let them drag me outside of the room. As I past the three humans, I glared at Jess. I was planning on killing her but now was not the time. I needed to wait a little longer.
Once I was in the torture room, I stared at the chains around my wrists. The female came in, ready to hurt me. I switched to their language.
Me: I would like to speak with Jess, alone.
I said to her.
Female: Why?
Me: Just a little chat between a former ally. It won't be long.
She considered my words. In that second, I tested to see how strong the chains were.
'Weak. The chains back at home were designed better than this. Even without the chemical.'
Female: Fine, but for five minutes.
Me: That's all I need.
I watched as she exited the room to get the traitor. Stupidly, she took the surrounding guards with her. Looking around, I checked for cameras. There weren't any, which was also not a smart idea.
In my few moments, I pulled at the chains. I stopped when they were loose enough. Just one more pull and I would be free.
The door opened and Jess walked in.
Me: Hello Jess, or should I say traitor.
Jess: You don't understand anything.
Me: What is there not to understand?
Jess: I had to shoot Ink. He needs to die. He's a threat to my side of the war.
That sent me over the edge. Just like from earlier, I pulled at the chains but this time they broke. When I was free, I grabbed her by the neck and held her against the wall.
Me: I should have killed you when you were fighting Ink.
I growled as my grip around her neck tightened. She could no longer talk since I was crushing her larynx.
Me: Ink has done nothing and you almost killed him. Just for that, I'll make sure you die slowly and painfully.
My teeth gritted as I watched her gasp desperately for air. I wasn't going to allow her to get what she wanted. At her last moments of life, I used my other hand to rip out her throat. I dropped both her and her separated throat to the floor and began to watch as she choked. Her blood began to pour out, creating a puddle around her.
She eventually died from blood loss. I kneeled in front of her dead corpse.
Me: This is what happens when you hurt Ink, you face the consequences.
Standing up, I looked at my wrists. Now, I needed to get these cancellers off of me. I grabbed one of them and pulled harshly. The metal broke off, allowing me to feel a sensation of power rush over. It was easier to break the second as most of my magic was back.
Once I no longer had restrictions, I felt all of my energy become restored. I was back to the way I was.
My new mission...
Destroy this place and find Ink
