Chapter 10 - Growing
We laid on the ground for a few minutes until Ink suddenly escaped from me. I looked at him as he walked out onto the "balcony" of his small apartment. The warm feeling that I felt with Ink slowly disappeared from me. It left me with a wanting, maybe even desperate, urge to experience it again.
Standing up, I went to stand next to Ink. He noticed me once I mimicked his posture by leaning against the barrier of the balcony. Blush covered his cheeks which made him turn his face away from me.
Me: Why do you do that?
Ink: Do what?
Me: Look away from me when you blush.
Ink: Because I'm embarrassed.
Me: You shouldn't. I think you look... cute.
He sighed while burying his face in his hands.
Ink: Please don't say that. It's already bad enough that you're labeled as my boyfriend.
Me: That's bad?
Ink: Yes, it is!
He yelled as he went back into the room to put distance between us.
Me: How so?
Ink: Because it's too good to be true!
Liquid started falling from his eyes. It reminded me of when I was locked up and I was afraid that Ink was dead.
Ink: Throughout my entire life, I have had the worst luck possible. Then you come along and you make my life... totally better. Better than better. And it confuses me to Hell and back. Why is it that you, an artificial skeleton that doesn't even understand the most complex of emotions, make me fall to the ground in love? Everyday, I want to kiss you but I can't... because you wouldn't understand and it hurts me. I love you but you don't love me back.
Ink began to go into a ramble that started to sound unintelligible. My mind stopped listening when I remembered the definition of "Love".
'Love, an intense feeling of deep romantic or sexual attachment to someone. Sexual, relating to the instincts, physiological processes, and activities connected with physical attraction or intimate physical contact between individuals.'
That's when the warm feeling became known to me. I was in love with Ink and he reciprocated the feelings.
He didn't seem to take attention when I slowly approached him. He finally did after I pulled him into my arms and deeply kissed him. Ink stopped moving in my embrace as he was shocked by my sudden act. Eventually, he returned it. The feeling that I desired came back. I didn't want it to stop.
Me: I do love you, Ink.
My voice was a surprise to me. Usually, it was monotone as there was no need to hold or convey emotion. Now, I sounded more gentle. No, that's not the right word. I sounded more... alive.
Ink looked up at me. The liquid seemed to have stopped, which he wiped away with the palm of his hand.
Ink: How do you know?
Me: It's hard to put into words but I feel... warm and happy when I'm with you. My sensation of touch becomes more sensitive as I make physical contact with your body. There's this desired feeling that I have when we hug or kiss. My soul beat increases to concerningly high speeds.
My movements seemed to not be of my own as I gently took Ink's hand in mine.
Me: I want to show you that I experience love for you. I don't know how but I want to prove it. Could you teach me how to love you? It would make sense since we are currently known as boyfriends.
Ink smiled before touching his finger to my nose bridge.
Ink: I couldn't teach you, Error. The way you give affection to the person you love... comes naturally. We all have our different ways of showing it.
What he said made me begin to think. What were my methods of the giving affection? This proved to be difficult as I didn't know ways of showing my love to Ink. I wasn't programmed with the knowledge or intent of involving myself in emotions. That was the reason for my small downfall.
I was figuratively behind of a barrier of some sorts, being unable to know how to express my love and feelings for Ink. It didn't help that he slightly pushed me away because of his distrust for intimate connections with another individual.
There were suddenly sounds emanating from outside. They were similar to the ones I heard when I escaped to chase after Ink. A loud boom was heard before the pats became more apparent.
Ink: I better close the window before rain gets inside and gets everything wet.
He said as he got out of my grasp to close the "window". I followed him and watched the "rain" collide against the clear surface. The liquid seemed to make the area colder, inside and outside. This led me to believe that rain can decrease the temperatures of the surrounding area.
Ink: Isn't it amazing to look at? Rain has always been my favorite type of weather.
Me: It isn't very beneficial for traversal. It slowed me down greatly when I chased you.
Ink: No, it's not. However, everyone finds rain to be relaxing so they take that time to relieve stress or catch up on sleep. Hey, we could relax since it's close to my time for sleeping.
Me: Um, okay.
He smiled before going into the bathroom. Remembering that I wasn't allowed in there with him, I waited on the bed. A few minutes pass and he still wasn't out. I saw this as an opportunity to reread certain words in the Dictionary.
Hearing the door open, I saw Ink walk out with a different set of the clothing. I watched him go over to his dresser and shift through them until he found what he was looking for. A black shirt with plaid black and red pants. He tossed the articles towards me. A confused look on my face told him that I didn't understand what he wanted me to do.
Ink: Change into those, for comfort. Also, I want to wash the ones you have on. Even though, you don't have the need to bathe yourself.
Following his commands, I switched my current clothes for the new ones in the bathroom. Once finished, he motioned for my turtleneck and cargo pants. I had to say, the plaid pants and black shirt was very comfortable to wear compared to the others. My thought was that these were invented for the night while my old clothing was for the day.
Me: What are these called?
Ink: Pajamas. Sit on the bed, I want you to taste something.
Setting myself into a sitting position, I observed Ink. He walked over with two cups, both with strange clear smoke floating from the tops. Once he sat down on the bed, he handed one to me. I took a sip of it before looking back at him.
Me: It's burning my taste receptors.
Ink: That's because you are supposed to blow on it first, silly.
He laughed as he took the cup and blew on it. I kept the action in my mind so I wouldn't repeat my small mistake.
Me: You speak like I was made to know that. I am deeply confused by your playful tone of voice.
Ink: I just found it funny. Here.
Handing the cup back to me, Ink's mismatched eyes stared at mine. Lightly blowing on the liquid, I carefully took another sip. This time, it tasted much better. It was sweet and warm which made me take another.
Me: What is this?
Ink: Hot Cocoa.
Me: I like it.
(Time Skip)
Ink taught me new knowledge until he started to yawn. He leaned backwards, making me assume that he was falling asleep. I was intrigued by it so I laid next to him and closed my eyes.
Suddenly, I felt something on my chest. Looking down, I saw Ink burying himself against my body, which was larger than his. My arms moved on their as they wrapped protectively around him. It gave me a sense of calm happiness. I smiled because I felt...
My love for Ink continue to grow
