Seokjin lets out a frustrated groan as he starts going through his room, searching for his checkbook. He runs his fingers through his hair as he grows irritated with Jungkook.

You had just gotten out of the shower in a pair of fresh pants and a plain t-shirt. You hear the sound of things being thrown along with the loud sound of frustrated sighs. Nearing the hallway, you look left and right, examining where the noise is coming from. Upon seeing the light in Seokjin's room on, your eyes soften and you immediately make your way towards his room down the hall.

Walking in, you see some clothes scattered along the floor with some of his accessories. You furrow your eyebrows and gently push the door a little further open to get a better view. You're greeted by Seokjin bent over, shuffling through the drawers of his bedside table. Softly pressing your knuckle to the door, you knock, causing Seokjin to merely sigh.

"What do you want, Jungkook? If you're here to apologize, you should apologize to Y/N. You ruined her clothes, not mine." he states. You press your lips together and remain quiet as you stare at the man's back. Seokjin pauses his movements, still bent over. Your eyes can't help but wander down to his backside as you step a little further into the room. His pants are a little tight, accentuating the slight curve of his backside as you arch an eyebrow. "Jungkook, I'm serious. Go find Y/N and apologize to her. I'm looking for my checkbook so I can write her a check to make up for this incident." Both of your eyebrows are now lifted as you fully step into his room.

"Is that why you're being loud and tearing your room apart?" you question. Upon hearing your voice, Seokjin stands up straight before turning around to face you. His eyes are apologetic and full of guilt as he stares back at you. His lips are a little parted as he takes in a deep breath before nodding. "You don't need to pay me back for a coat. If you haven't noticed, I make a pretty penny at work. I can just get a new one myself." Seokjin shakes his head as he fully turns around.

"I know you can, but it was my fault, not yours. I should be paying for it." he states. You shake your head and walk into his room. You point at his gaming chair and he nods his head, allowing you to sit in it. He turns back around and continues searching for his check book. "I have a lot of savings in my bank right now. I can cover it." Your expression turns soft as you speak, your voice coming out as a soft whisper.

"As your boss, I'm telling you not to write me a check." Upon hearing how quiet your voice is, Seokjin stops searching and stares back at you once more. You lock eyes with him and give him a reassuring look. He slowly blinks before nodding his head. He walks to the pile of clothes on his floor and begins to fold some of the clothes. You stand up from his chair and walk towards the nearly empty closet. Grabbing a few of the empty hangers dangling from the rack, you take them out and pick up some of the jackets, coats and dress pants and begin hanging them on the hangers. "Why did you throw mashed potatoes at me anyway?" you inquire while smoothing out some of the wrinkles starting to form on his coat.

"I... Um..." he takes a deep breath before realizing that he can't be subtle around a woman as bold as you. "I wanted to sit next to you, but Jungkook got there first. I was aiming at Jungkook but he moved." You pause your movements for a few seconds before hanging the garment on the rack in his closet. Turning to face him, you cross your arms and tilt your head to the side, examining the man in front of you. He senses your stare and stops his movements for a moment as well.

"You wanted to sit next to me? It was as simple as that?" you question, eyebrow quirked as you stare at the man. He gulps for a moment before nodding his head. "And instead of being the mature one, like you usually are, you decide to stoop to Jungkook's level." Once you finish saying this, Seokjin turns to you.

"Can you blame me? I know you slept with him." he states bluntly. You bite onto your lower lip, looking down as you start internally battling with yourself. One side of you says that you have nothing to be ashamed of, that you're not in a relationship with anyone and have the right to sleep with whomever you choose. The other side of you begins scolding, telling you that you should feel guilty because you know that you've felt some type of way about Seokjin for a while now. "I know it's none of my business who you sleep with and I'm just your chef, but Jungkook?"

You're the one gulping now, remaining quiet. Seokjin goes back to folding his clothes.

"How'd you know?" Seokjin softly laughs before shaking his head.

"The closet? Really?" he responds with a question. You press your lips together for a moment. He laughs at your silence before shaking his head. He stands up and dusts off his hands on his pants for a moment before looking back at you. "I'm going to head back to the dinner. I'm glad you're not angry about what happened."

You watch as the man exits his room, leaving you in it by yourself. Staring at his back as he walks away, you bite onto your lower lip, growing more and more guilty.

"Hyung, is Y/N okay?" Namjoon asks Seokjin once he arrives back at the dinner table. Seokjin looks up at Namjoon and nods his head for a moment before giving a small grin to Namjoon. He plops onto the seat next to Namjoon. Jungkook stares curiously at Seokjin, confused as to why he doesn't want the seat next to you anymore.

"Is Y/N coming back down for dinner?" the youngest speaks up, causing Seokjin's ears to perk up at your name. Upon seeing Jungkook's face, his face becomes less eager at hearing your name coming from his mouth. Seokjin merely shrugs before grabbing the chopsticks in his pocket and starting to eat. Jungkook lowers his head a little.

You walk to where the boys are, sitting in a different chair than last time, your old chair still covered in soda. You're positioned to Namjoon's right side, the soda-soaked chair on your right. Jungkook is directly across from Seokjin and Jimin is directly across from you. Jimin senses the tension and immediately connects his phone to the speakers hanging near the patio door entrance.

Jimin starts nervously looking for any song that will distract the table from the awkward incident that happened.

"Y/N, I'm so sorry for spilling soda on you," Namjoon starts before scratching the back of his neck. "I just wanted to help, but I'm a klutz." You give him a soft smile.

"That's okay, Namjoon. It really wasn't that big of a deal." you respond. You move your eyes and lock them onto Seokjin. He's staring back at you, his chopsticks at his mouth as he feeds himself. He looks away from you and back at his plate for a moment. You glance at Jungkook, who stares back at you, a nervous and apologetic smile on his face.

"Namjoon-hyung has always been clumsy. One time, he-" Namjoon interrupts Jimin's story by coughing. When Jimin looks at Namjoon, he softly nods his head before growing quiet, smiling to himself as he thinks about the distant memory of Namjoon being clumsy.

Jimin looks back to his phone and begins playing music on the speakers, causing Jungkook and Jimin to start dancing stupidly around the table. Jimin runs up to you and begins dancing directly next to your face as you bring your chopsticks up to your face, devouring the piece of meat you were holding. Your eyes meet Jimin's and he teasingly lifts his eyebrows up and down, wiggling his hips from side to side as he makes you laugh. Jungkook works on Seokjin and Namjoon, dancing like a goofball around the two of them. Eventually, Seokjin starts laughing, his windshield wiper laugh echoing throughout the room, causing everyone to laugh. Seokjin stands up and begins doing a dance move. Jungkook starts imitating the dance move before Jimin joins along, waving their arms in the ceiling.

You and Namjoon look at each other before both of you shrug, starting to dance along with them in your seats. You and Seokjin make eye contact and he turns his head to look away immediately. You let out a soft sigh, only to feel a hand resting on your shoulder. You turn to see Jimin and he's giving you a 'he'll be okay' look.

You dance with Jimin and he twirls you in a circle, causing you to laugh. Namjoon and Seokjin are dancing together while Jungkook is dancing between all of you, avoiding Seokjin and keeping his distance from you to respect Seokjin.

You hear the doorbell go off from inside the house, causing you to glance at the patio door. Widening your eyes, you remember the surprise you had in store for Seokjin. Jimin senses your body tensing as you stop dancing, his hands still holding yours as he sways from side to side. Pausing, he glances at you with furrowed eyebrows and you point at the house. A second ring of the doorbell goes off and Jimin immediately releases you, allowing you to go into the house.

You make your way to the front door quietly, glancing back to make sure no one saw you slip into the house. At the door, you're greeted by a handsome face and a boxy smile.

"Hi, are you Y/N?" the man asks. You nod your head and smile before glancing back at the patio door. You turn back around to face the front door before stepping out onto the front porch with the man.

"Yes and you must be Taehyung, Seokjin's friend, right?" He nods his head and stuffs his hands into his pocket. "So, we only told Seokjin he could invite two friends, excluding Jimin. I did this on purpose so we could surprise him for his birthday." You state. Taehyung nods his head and gestures his head to the car behind him.

"Hoseok is still getting the cake out of the car, thank you for inviting us. I know Seokjin will be really surprised to see us." You nod your head and glance over his shoulder to see Hoseok's bright red hair and a wide smile on his face as he carries the large cake towards the front door.

"Hi, Hoseok! Thank you for coming and for picking up the cake for us." you politely speak. Hoseok nods his head, widely smiling before he hands Taehyung the cake. He embraces you into a tight hug and you widen your eyes in shock, stiffening at the sudden contact with the handsome man.

"Thank you for inviting us! I can't wait to see Seokjin, it's been a few months since we all got together." He says before tightly squeezing your body.

"Hoseok's a little too... friendly sometimes." Taehyung comments on the hug before Hoseok pulls away and ruffles Taehyung's hair, pinching his cheek. He takes the cake back from Taehyung and you lead the way into the house, making your way to the patio with the two men. The others are still distracted, dancing along to the music.

"I love this song!" Hoseok suddenly shouts before running to the men, starting to dance along with them. Jimin smiles at Hoseok, Namjoon glances at Seokjin, waiting for him to look in Hoseok's direction, and Seokjin is still dancing along to the music with his eyes closed. The music was a little too loud, causing Seokjin to not notice Hoseok or Taehyung.

Jimin immediately pauses the music, causing Hoseok's smile to drop a little.

"Hey! Jiminie! Turn the music back on." Hoseok orders. Seokjin's movements stop as he turns around, coming face-to-face with Hoseok. His eyes flicker back and forth as he notices Taehyung as well, standing next to Namjoon with a smile on his face. You stand at the patio and watch as Seokjin blinks, not sure whether he's dreaming or if these two men were actually here.

"Hoseok? Taehyung?" he questions. Hoseok immediately runs to Seokjin and embraces him in a tight hug. Taehyung, who had been calm up until now, decides to run towards him as well, joining the hug. Seokjin begins laughing loudly, his eyes sparkling as he sees the two men. "Hoseok, I thought you were in America?" Hoseok nods his head.

"I was, but I wouldn't forget your birthday! Y/N called me and-"

"Y/N called you?" Seokjin asks. You shyly glance down at the ground while placing the cake onto the table. He looks over at you as Hoseok nods and his eyes soften further. "Taehyung, did Y/N call you too?"

"Yes, I was actually at an art auction, trying to buy a new painting," he starts before combing his fingers through his curly black hair. "But she called and said that her and Jimin-ah were planning a birthday party for you. I see you finally found a job doing something you love, and I see you got lucky to have a nice boss as well." he states. You feel your face heating up as Seokjin stares over at you.

"Yeah... she's a pain in the ass sometimes," he starts, causing your eyes to look away from his. You begin placing candles on the cake when he starts speaking again. "But I wouldn't want to work for anyone else."

*********
This week has been so hard on me. I lost someone so important and significant in my life and I just feel lost to say the least.

The only thing keeping me going is that this person would've wanted me to keep going and would be proud of what I'm accomplishing right now.

I don't really have the best mental health to update you all on world events going on right now. However, I can tell you what things to read about. Read about what's happening in Nigeria with SARS. Read about the marine animals suddenly dying in Russia. Read about updates with COVID to see what places are being affected right now.

There's so many more but I just can't bring myself to look at that right now knowing I'm struggling with my mental health at the moment.

I hope all of you have been doing well. I may not be doing well but I hope all of you are. Please take care of yourselves. I love all of you very much and your positive messages always make me happy.

Thank you to everyone who gave me their condolences and said they're praying for me. It really means a lot.

Kim 💗
