Chapter Fifteen.

Freya stopped running when she hit the shore line, Skull rock only a couple of hundred feet in front of the pair.
"I'll magic us up a boat." Rumple clapped his hands together.
"No, we don't have time to sail." Freya shook her head. "Stand back."
Rumple did as asked as Freya held her hands over the water.
"Glace, solidatur. Glace, solidatur." The Heretic quietly chanted to herself.
Slowly but surely, the water in the strait began to freeze over, creating an ice path.
Soon enough, the path was complete and they continued on with Freya's Vamp speed, following the scent of Henry's blood.
Within seconds, they arrived at the entrance to a cave, where Pan's incessant rambling could be heard clearly.
"You distract Pan. I'll grab Henry." Freya said, earning a simple nod from Rumple.
Using her Vamp speed once again, the Heretic snuck through the shadows into the main section of the cave, where Henry and Pan were talking.
"Are you ready to save everything, Henry?" Pan asked, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"I suppose." Henry shrugged.
"Not whilst I'm alive." Rumple's voice came from the large, arched entrance.
"Ah, Rumple. I'm so glad you could come for the show." Pan clapped his hands excitedly.
"Back away from my grandson, father." The Dark One sneered.
"But son, he's the key to everything I need. He is the truest believer." Pan chuckled, moving past Henry to get closer to his child.
Freya took that opportunity to speed to Henry. As soon as she was near enough, she grabbed his hand, causing him to swing his head around. Freya instantly put her finger to her lips, earning a nod from the boy.
As Rumple successfully distracted Pan, Freya attempted to find an exit that didn't involve coming back the way she came – the direction Pan was now facing.
"I know I let you down all those years ago, Rumple. But I'm fully willing to put all of our grievances aside to be a family again." Pan opened his arms to him. "After I've drained Henry's heart of all of its magic."
Freya gave up on her alternative exit and told Henry to climb on her back, which he did.
"Hold tight, kiddo." She whispered.
She then Vamp sped him through the shadows and back out the way they had come, thankfully remaining undetected by Pan.
At the entrance to the caves, Freya gently placed henry down on the floor.
"You okay, Henry?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you for rescuing me." He replied.
"You're more than welcome, kid. Your mums, grandparents and Hook are waiting for us to return, but right now, I need you to stay here whilst I take care of Pan. I think I have a plan." She told him.
Henry simply nodded.

Back in the cave, Freya heard that Rumple was running out of things to say to his father.
"Who's this?" Pan looked over as Freya walked over.
"Someone who's royally pissed off." She scowled, storming straight past Rumple to grab Pan by the neck, holding him as tightly as she could without snapping his neck. "We're going to have a little chat."
"Oh yes? About what exactly?" Pan choked out, still holding on to his impish smirk.
"Well, I'm not Human, for a start. I'm a Vampire Witch Hybrid. That means I could either kill you with my mind, or compel you to do whatever I wanted, just by telling you to do so. But I'd rather not kill a father in front of his son, no matter how evil you are or how bad your relationship with said son is. So for now, I'm going to compel you." Freya looked deep into his eyes. "You're going to forget everything about Henry. You're going to forget everything you've heard about the Truest Believer. Any mention of either, you will dismiss and forget you ever heard it."
"Freya." Rumple grabbed her attention. "Tell him to forget about me too."
The Heretic turned her head to look at him, giving him a look that said 'are you sure?', to which he nodded.
Freya looked back to Pan, who was in a sort of compulsion trance.
"You're going to forget you have a son. You only know Rumpelstiltskin as the Dark One. You will not approach him, you will not make any contact, not so much as a glance. And you will forget about me, about Henry's family, everyone. You will use the little magic you have left to live out the rest of your days in a desolate realm, forever alone."
"I will be alone." Pan mumbled in monotone; the only hint of any emotion was in the tear that escaped his left eye.
Freya, feeling content with her work, released his neck.
"Goodbye Pan." Rumple stood tall and proud, then followed Freya as she made her exit.

"Henry!" Emma and Regina shouted in unison as their son appeared through the trees.
Henry ran to his mothers with the biggest grin he'd ever worn.
"Moms!" He called back.
He fell into their arms in a tight hug as Freya made her way over to Killian, who awaited with a welcoming smile.
"I didn't doubt you for a second." He mumbled, giving her a long kiss as he snaked his arms around her waist.
Freya parted from him and addressed the group.
"Pan won't be causing any more trouble. I made sure of it." She said.
Regina left Henry with Emma, coming over to the Heretic.
"I'd like to thank you, Freya." She gave her a little half smile. "Henry would most likely be dead if it weren't for you."
"You're welcome, Regina." Freya bowed her head.
"The question now is how do we get back to Storybrooke?" Snow frowned as she hugged Henry.
"Oh, I've got that covered." Regina said, reaching into her pocket.
In her hand was a magic bean.
"Then it's back to the Jolly Roger." Killian smiled as he wrapped his arm around Freya's waist.

As Freya boarded Killian's ship, she finally felt at home. With her centuries of travelling, she'd never felt 'at home' anywhere until she met her Pirate.
"By the Gods..." She whispered to herself as she looked over the ship's deck.
"What is it, love?" Killian asked.
"It's so weird being back on the Jolly Roger. Part of me thought I'd never see it or you again." The Heretic replied.
"You're not the only one." He sighed, kissing her forehead before turning to his passengers. "Is everyone ready to go?"
There was an array of yeses and 'yep's and so they set off.
Freya saw Rumple looking back out to the island, clearly deep in thought.
"Rumpelstiltskin?" She attempted to grab his attention.
He abandoned his trance-like state and glanced to her.
"Please, dearie. Call me Mister Gold or Rumple. I understand that my full name is a bit of a mouthful." He offered her a small smile.
"Very well. I shall call you Rumple, if you don't mind." She stood next to him and leaned on the edge of the ship as he nodded. "Are you alright?"
"Of course. Why wouldn't I be?" He seemed genuinely confused.
"Not an hour ago, you asked me to remove all knowledge of you from your father's mind. I get that you weren't close in the slightest, but that must've been difficult."
He sighed, placing a hand on hers.
"Thank you for your concern, Freya. I'm perfectly well, I assure you." He left a moment to pause. "Were you close with your parents?"
Freya gave a humourless chuckle and looked down.
"My father died when I was a baby whilst he was on a raid. He was sort of a Pirate, in a way – I suppose you could say that that was where my fascination with them began." She gave a small smile as she glanced over to Killian, who was at the ship's helm. "My mother was overcome with grief, so I spent most of my time with my aunt and uncle in England."
"You are Viking, if I recall correctly?" Rumple frowned in thought.
"Yes, I am. I see you know my realm's history rather well." She smirked.
Rumple shrugged. "I did a lot of reading during my cursed life. The Vikings were a mighty people."
"They were indeed." Freya sighed deeply. "So, in answer to your question, no; I wasn't close with my parents. But my aunt and uncle were very kind and very wealthy people. So I lived a good Human life."
She looked down once more, spying the handmade steel and brass ring on her right index finger.
"Something happened to them, didn't it?" Rumple more stated, rather than asked.
"Yeah..." She practically whispered.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, dearie. I'll understand." The Dark One said.
"I killed them." Freya told him. "When I was newly turned, I tried to resume my normal life and when I got back to my uncle's manor, he'd been tipped off that I was some sort of monster. My emotions controlled me and I lost it. I ripped his throat out right in front of my aunt. She, understandably became hysterical and attempted to stab me with a knife, but in her fluster, she cut herself. The smell of blood consumed me and I killed her too."
"I'm very sorry to hear that." Rumple replied, genuinely.
"Regina! Are you ready?" Killian called out, disrupting Freya and Rumple's heart to heart.
"When you are, Captain." She replied.
Freya watched on as Regina threw the magic bean into the deep water below.
A few seconds later, a portal opened up like some sort of sinkhole.
"Brace yourselves, mates!" Killian shouted, steering the ship into the path of the portal.
