"mark! someone's at the door, and i'm guessing it's for you!" jane, mark mother screamed across the house as the doorbell of their house rang.

"i need just a minute more, you can tell them to come in!" mark yelled back from his room.

jane rolled her eyes at her son. he was worse than a girl when it came to getting ready. it took him hours and hours just to shower, get dressed, brush his teeth and his hair, and look presentable.

today, mark was supposed to go play laser tag with his boyfriend and his friends, and they were supposed to come and fetch mark – which was surely why someone had rung the doorbell.

"coming!" jane exclaimed as she walked to the front door before opening it slowly. "hel...lo...?"

donghyuck gulped as the door opened, revealing mark's mother, looking at him confusedly.

"h-hello..." he let out, his voice unintentionally coming out squeakier than usual.

"dahyun...? you cut your hair..." jane frowned. "i thought... you and mark... huh... i... i mean, i'm glad you guys are still friends after everything that happened, but... i'm a bit surprised... yeah..."

"h-huh..." donghyuck gulped again, his cheeks pink as he tried to find a way to get out of this mess.

"i'm here!"

both donghyuck and jane faced the boy that had just spoken, letting out a breath of relief simultaneously.

"mark, your- "

"hey!" mark cut his mother's sentence as soon as he caught a glimpse of his boyfriend standing in the doorway.

before donghyuck could react, mark jumped in his arms, hugging him like a koala and gluing their lips together without a care in the world about his mother that was now staring at them with her mouth and her eyes wide open.

yeah, she wasn't really up-to-date with the last events...

so, it may seem quite weird to her to see her son being carried and kissed passionately by his ex-girlfriend.

"m-mark...? w-what... what did i miss...?" jane stuttered in confusion, staring at her son once donghyuck had placed him back on the floor.

"mom, i told you about that boy the other day, you remember?" mark asked, tiling his head to the side as he slid his hand into donghyuck's clammy one. yeah, the usually proud and overconfident donghyuck was now a shy mess in front of mark's mother. god, how much mark had changed him...

"y-yes, i do. y-your boyfriend." jane nodded, her eyes falling on donghyuck who was looking at his feet. "b-but... why dahyun...?"

mark smiled at his mother, leaning against donghyuck's side.

"this is the boy i told you about. he's my boyfriend. his name is donghyuck." mark explained. "i love him."

mark's mother blinked a few times, looking into donghyuck's eyes as the boy slowly lifted his head.

"h-hello... i'm donghyuck and... i love your son from the bottom of my heart..." he confessed, his cheeks tainted pink.

jane was still frozen on her spot, trying to understand what was happening.

"it's very nice to meet you." she let out despite her confusion. "c-can i ask a question though?"

"sure." donghyuck nodded, his grip on mark's hand unintentionally tightening because of the stress.

"a-are you d-dahyun? i mean... did you transition into... donghyuck...?"

"mom, no!" mark intervened rolled his eyes and catching the attention of his mother.

"donghyuck and dahyun are two different people. they're twin siblings. that's why they look alike. dahyun isn't transgender!" mark explained with a chuckle.

"oh, i'm so sorry, i didn't know..." jane apologised immediately, looking into donghyuck's eyes.

"it's fine, no problem..." donghyuck shook his head, his heart still beating fast inside his chest because of the stress.

"yeah, i didn't understand, because mark told me about falling for a boy while being dahyun's boyfriend, but then if dahyun was transgender this would make any sense and- wait a second!" she gasped in realisation, looking at her son dead in the eye. "you cheated on your girlfriend with her twin brother?!"

"y-yeah...?" mark smiled sheepishly, side-hugging donghyuck.

"i-i... i don't know w-what to say..." jane looked between her son and his boyfriend.

"don't worry about it, mrs lee. mark and dahyun were together for long, but they didn't really grow feelings for each other. each of them fell for someone else while being together, and so, their separation wasn't too painful. well... if we ignore all the of the drama part that happened at the basketball game, of course..."

mark nodded, as if to support his boyfriend's words. "yes, mom." he approved. "dahyun and i are friends. and we're friends with her girlfriend too. we just weren't meant to be. i'm with donghyuck now, and things are much better that way."

donghyuck allowed himself to wrap his arms around mark's body when the older boy cuddled against his chest. the tanned male looked at his boyfriend's mother, gulping at how unreadable her eyes were.

"can i trust you to take good care of my baby?" jane asked with her eyebrows in a frown while staring intensely at the younger boy.

"mom!" mark whined. "i'm not 10 anymore!"

"of course." donghyuck nodded sincerely. "i love your son more than anything, and i feel so bad fer everything i made him endure these past weeks. he deserves the world, mrs lee."

"stooooop..." mark humphed. "you're going to make me cry..." mark pouted, resting his chin on donghyuck's chest and looking up at his boyfriend.

"sorry, baby." donghyuck mumbled, leaning forwards and pecking his lips quickly. "but it's the truth."

"hmph..." mark mumbled incoherently before hiding his face in donghyuck's chest while hugging the boy.

jane cooed at the sight of her son being engulfed into donghyuck's embrace as the tanned male smiled at him fondly. her little baby was a big boy now, and he had a perfect boyfriend to take care of him.

"not to break your cute lovers moment, but weren't you supposed to go play laser tag?" jane questioned, making mark jump out of donghyuck's arms excitedly.

"oh my god, yes! laser tag!" he exclaimed. "i'm so going to beat you!" he added, poking donghyuck's chest.

donghyuck chuckled with a brow raised. "oh... we'll see..."

"top team! in position!" donghyuck yelled as he lifted his laser gun in the air, cheering on his teammates.

"stop calling us that!" dahyun hit donghyuck's head with the end of her gun which had been covered with foam.

"i mean..." jeno started, looking at jaemin and jisung who were next to them too. "he's not wrong. we are tops."

"oh my god, shut up!" dahyun rolled her eyes.

"yeah, the top team. we're going to end in top position. so, please, concentrate and win this game!"donghyuck stated quickly before disappearing across the dark maze that was composing the laser tag game area.

the four other members of the team exchanged glances.

"he's on full competition mode right now." jisung declared.

"yeah, let's not try to make him mad, or we're going to hear about it for the next years." dahyun nodded.

"my balls still- "

"stop telling us about that or they're going to revive that painful moment very soon." jaemin cut his boyfriend's words, making the older nod immediately.

"ooh... someone's going to get some tonight..." dahyun wiggled her brows at the two boyfriends.

"i wasn't- "

"TOPS! I SAID IN POSITION!" donghyuck's yell made them all jump slightly before each of them headed in a different direction to hide.

in a matter of seconds, a loud alarm blasted through the game area, and the timer was set to 20 minutes. members from both teams started running around, trying their best to find the other team and shot them to earn some points.

the game area wasn't very big, causing them to find themselves facing their opponents quite frequently. and if it had been very silent for the first few minutes, the game area was now a loud mess because of the stomping of their feet or the regular screams the boys and girls would let out when being surprised by someone else.

"jeno! you've been hit again?!" donghyuck exclaimed when he passed by his friend's side and noticed his equipment being lit down – signalling that he had been shot in the past 10 seconds. "it's the third time i pass by you and you've been hit!"

"yeah, well, mark's following me, and he shoots like an ace!" jeno huffed, running away quickly to get away from donghyuck's boyfriend.

donghyuck rolled his eyes before conventrating on his next target – choonhee – who had passed in front of him running a second ago.

the tanned male ran in the direction she went, keeping his weapon up to attack if someone ever jumped on him. and he did right, because chenle came running into his direction while dolphin screaming a second after.

"yaaaaaaah!!!" the younger boy exclaimed, pointing his gun at donghyuck to shoot him.

donghyuck held his hand in front of him, placing it over the barrel of chenle's laser gun, hiding the hole from which the laser was supposed to get out. once chenle's gun was harmless, donghyuck used his own to shoot chenle.

"hey! it's not fair!" chenle whined. "i haven't hit anyone yet!"

"yeah, go see jisung if you want to hit someone. i'm sure he'll sacrifice himself for you." donghyuck rolled his eyes, already looking around for new members from the opposite team.

"oh, yes! that's a brilliant idea!" chenle squeaked before running away as fast as he came, screaming for jisung.

donghyuck walked away carefully, reaching for one of the ends of the maze-like game area. he pushed the small button on his equipment vest to display his score and the time remaining.

there were only three minutes left, and he currently had 1450 points, meaning he had touched at least 15 times members from the opposite team – each hit was worth 100 points, and you were retrieved 50 points each time you got hit.

he couldn't remember what the record to beat was, but he didn't really care at that point.

in the past 18 minutes during which he had played, he had met paths with his team members quite frequently, and they had all been complaining on how they hadn't managed to hit mark while he had been hitting them each time he tried. this made donghyuck realise that, not only he hadn't seen mark around, but also, that he wouldn't be considered the winner if he hadn't hit mark.

"let's go get him..." he snickered.

in a matter of seconds, donghyuck had climbed up the walls and was standing on top of them, in a corner of the labyrinth from where he could see the area quite well from the top. with a glance to his right, he noticed mark running on his own towards a dead end, making him smirk evilly at his devilish plan.

jumping agilely from wall to wall, donghyuck made sure mark had his guard down before jumping behind him and blocking him against the wall.

"ahh!" mark exclaimed, when he was glued with his chest and face against the wall as donghyuck made sure that he couldn't shoot him by grabbing both of his wrists and holding them above his head, the gun pointing towards the ceiling.

"hello, baby..." donghyuck whispered in mark's ear, pressing his chest against mark's back as hard as he could despite the equipment vests they both wore.

"donghyuck..." mark let out, turning his head as much as he could to look backwards.

"that's my name." donghyuck pecked the boy's cheek sweetly, before making him turn around, still making sure mark's hands were pinned to the wall above his head. "so... what's your score?"

mark humphed, trying to get away from donghyuck's grip, but failing to do so as donghyuck pressed the small button on his vest to reveal mark's score.

"1600 points..." donghyuck let out, checking the timer at the same time, and smirking when he realised there was less than thirty seconds left. "that's a very good score..." donghyuck said proudly. "you didn't lie when you said you were very good at laser tag."

"of course." mark huffed, a smirk appearing on his face. "i'm perfect, aren't i? always the best."

donghyuck let out a low chuckle, leaning forward as he approached his face from mark's while he was still pinning him to the wall.

mark tried leaning forwards to make their lips meet, but he was blocked with his lips millimetres away from donghyuck's tempting ones.

"you look hot when you're under me..." donghyuck murmured, his lips brushing against mark's.

"kiss me..." mark pleaded struggling against donghyuck's hold while looking at him with pleading eyes.

donghyuck gave in, leaning forwards as his and mark's mouths met in a passionate kiss. donghyuck's hand slowly let go mark's wrists as he deepened the kiss, making mark let go his gun and wrap his arms around donghyuck's neck to pull him closer.

they kissed for long seconds, completely forgetting about their surroundings and the game that they had been playing at as if they were fighting for their lives. it seemed like being better than the other didn't matter anymore. or so...

a small beep was heard as mark's vest flashed red before switching off, making the boy pull away from the kiss.

donghyuck had a smirk plastered on his face as he looked down at his gun which was pointed at the captors on mark's vest.

"no!" mark groaned, picking his gun up and pointing it at donghyuck while waiting for the agonizing ten seconds of inactivity of his equipment to be over so that he could kill donghyuck for good.

"oops... i think there are only a few seconds of game left..." donghyuck winked at his boyfriend. "and oh, our scores are both 1550, meaning that you're not the best."

a second after, a loud alarm rang, and all the equipment shut off, signalling the end of the game.

mark blinked in confusion, looking at his score on his vest and then at his smirking boyfriend.

"donghyuck! you're a cheater!" mark whined.

but this only made donghyuck smirk wider. "and so are you, baby."
