donghyuck huffed loudly as the brownish ball landed into the hoop once again, making the whole crowd around them scream.

mark's team had scored. again.

"YEAHHH!!" dahyun yelled, clapping her hands loudly as she jumped to her feet.

donghyuck was still wondering what he was doing here, watching the quarter-finals of the basketball national championship for college students.

they had been watching games since the beginning of the day, and now, mark's team had made it to quarter-finals.

as much as donghyuck didn't want to go to this game to see mark playing, he couldn't let his sister go there on her own, knowing that she would need to take the train and stay at a hotel for a night all alone.

so, donghyuck had felt obliged to go with her, which was why he was currently seated by her side while she cheered on her – annoyingly perfect – boyfriend.

"oh my god, this is a fucking miracle!" dahyun exclaimed, shaking her brother's shoulder energetically. "can you realise mark's team made it to quarter finals?! the first time he participated to the championship."

"yeah, a miracle." donghyuck snorted, trying to keep his anger inside of himself.

"plus, they're leading the score! if they keep going, they'll reach semi-finals!"

"yeah..." he growled.

donghyuck felt like everything was unfair.

what had he done in his life to deserve this?

how come his soccer team had participated a few times in the championship and had only managed once to get to the semi-finals, while mark's team participated once to the championship, and was on his way to beat the opposing team in quarter-finals?!

donghyuck almost wanted to kill himself right now.

but it wasn't necessary. he knew mark was hiding something. he had to be. he couldn't be naturally perfect.

a loud horning sound announced the end of the 2nd quarter and the beginning of the 15-minute half-time. donghyuck stared at the players on the pitch, leaving towards their cloakrooms.

"i'm going to buy a drink. would you like something?" donghyuck asked his sister.

"water will do." she replied. "and can i have some chips too?"

"sure. i'll be back soon."

donghyuck stood up and followed the crowd of people that were walking out of the bleachers to get something to drink and eat.

however, instead of following them all the way to the food stall, donghyuck walked the opposite way, right through the doors with a 'no public entry' sign.

donghyuck wandered across the silent corridors, searching for the cloakrooms. he passed by a few players from the opposite team before finally hearing mark's voice inside one of the rooms.

from what donghyuck could hear, he was cheering on his teammates, and saying that they had played really well for the 2 first quarters, but that they needed to keep playing this way if they wanted to reach semi-finals. all in all, acting like a perfect team captain, which had donghyuck rolling his eyes.

the tanned male hid as the players walked out of the room to grab something to drink. once they were all out of view, he slid inside their cloakroom, searching for something to do that could help them losing their game.

donghyuck wasn't someone bad. he really wasn't. but he couldn't bear having mark doing everything so perfectly anymore. so, there was no way he would allow mark to reach semi-finals.

donghyuck pulled open the lockers and cabinets, searching for something that could be helpful to him. the boy smirked devilishly when he found lube in one of their bags and spotted the basketball shoes of all the boys of the team – they only wore them on the pitch to keep them in perfect shape, meaning that they took them off during the half-time and after the match; and they wore it at the very last moment, just before entering on the pitch.

lube was like vaseline, right? it made things slip easier?

oh, donghyuck had such a wonderful idea...

opening the bottle of lube, donghyuck placed a generous amount on his fingers before walking towards the pairs of shoes that were hanging on what seemed to be coat hangers.

donghyuck smirked as he allowed his fingers to coat the sole of the shoes, making them shinier.

not really knowing who would be playing, and when, donghyuck decided to place lube on one shoe of each pair. it promised to be very funny.

with a quick glance to his watch, donghyuck gasped, realising that the game was about to start again. he was quick to place the lube back into the bag and to head towards the door.

however, the voices he heard made him understand that the players were right there, about to get inside.

the tanned male glanced around the room, sighing when he noticed a closet big enough for him to fit in. he jumped inside, closing the door behind his back as the players entered the room.

donghyuck stopped breathing for a while, waiting for a few minutes until he couldn't hear their voices anymore.

he opened the closet door slightly, checking the room for anyone before getting out of it.

he smirked when he realised the shoes had disappeared and ran outside, going back to the public aeras.

on his way to the bleachers, he stopped by the food stall to buy two bottles of water and a bag of chips.

"the game started a second ago!" dahyun exclaimed, pulling donghyuck down so that he didn't block her view.

"sorry, there was a huge queue. everybody wanted to buy something to eat." donghyuck replied innocently, handing his sister her things before concentrating on the match, a small smirk appearing on his lips.

this was about to get really funny...

donghyuck wanted to die. and for real this time.

how the hell had mark's whole team managed to win the fucking quarter-finals with them slipping every time they put their feet to the ground?

the sassy tanned male was still seated in the bleachers, next to his sister that was now jumping up and down while screaming.

the second half of the game had been wild. donghyuck had lot of fun seeing mark and his teammates slipping every now and then and looking completely confused about it. because of that, their team wasn't able to score any point for almost all the third quarter. and the greasy substance under their shoes slowly dirtied the whole floor, soon making the opposite team slip as well. donghyuck had never seen a match in which the swiffer guys intervened this much. they kept coming every minute to wipe the slippery floor.

anyway, after asking for a break, mark's team managed to find a new strategy despite them slipping with each step they could. and so, they had managed to win the game, meaning they were heading to the semi-finals now.

"oh my god!!" dahyun screamed into donghyuck's ear. "i can't believe it! they did it!"

"yeah, i can't believe it either..." donghyuck snorted, looking at the players on the pitch shaking hands and hugging each other.

"mark brought them to the semi-finals! isn't that amazing?!" dahyun continued.

"it sure is..." donghyuck's eyes rolled to the back of his head.

how could mark be this perfect?

how had he managed to make his team win despite the disadvantaged they had?

how could he be this adaptable, and remain a good captain when someone had tried sabotaging his game?

donghyuck really wondered, and this scared him a lot.

how would he ever be able to be better than mark when mark was so pure and perfect?
