donghyuck jumped on his seat as someone slammed a tray next to him at the canteen.
"hello donghyuck."
"oh god, please, not you..." the tanned male sighed, closing his eyes in despair.
"oh, yes, me." the girl replied sitting now.
"dahyun, i don't want to see you. i was eating peacefully." donghyuck declared.
"you were alone. and i don't want my brother to be alone." she explained, resting her head on donghyuck's shoulder lovingly.
"come on, just get off me!" he replied harshly, pushing her head away. "people are going to think we're dating!"
the girl scoffed, sitting straight again. "we have the same face, idiot. you need to be blind not to realise we're blood related."
"hey! respect your elder!" donghyuck scolded.
"it was two minutes, donghyuck. two fucking minutes." dahyun rolled her eyes. it seemed like they were always having the same conversation.
"well, still. they make me your elder. so, you need to respect me." donghyuck assured.
"right, excuse me, your majesty."
donghyuck huffed, going back to eating while looking at his phone.
"why are you alone anyway?" dahyun asked
"i'm not alone anymore. you're here." donghyuck sassed.
"why were you alone, then?"
"because i wanted to. and i still do." donghyuck replied, motioning for his sister to go away.
dahyun didn't react.
she was used to her brother being like that, a sassy and salty bitch.
so, she didn't care whether he cursed at her or pushed her away. that's how they were together anyway.
"you know that your table could be filled of girls who want to date you? you're so popular among them." dahyun continued speaking. "the school's heartthrob."
"i'm not interested." donghyuck told.
"in girls? or in dating?" dahyun smirked. she had made a wild guess that donghyuck was gay, but she had never been able to confirm her thoughts, so now, she tried everything possible to make donghyuck admit it to her. but she hadn't succeeded yet.
"dating." donghyuck replied nonchalantly.
"so, you don't want anyone sitting with you?" dahyun asked with a pout.
"my friends, eventually. but not a bunch of chicks who only care about me because of my looks and the winks i send them." donghyuck explained.
"oh, they don't care about you for your bitchy personality for sure." dahyun told, earning a slap on the arm from donghyuck.
"ouch!" she exclaimed. "why did you hit me asshole?!"
"you aren't respecting me!" donghyuck spoke back.
"i'm just saying the truth!"
"well- "
"hello guys!" a voice interrupted their bickering. "are you fighting again?"
both donghyuck and dahyun's heads turned to look at the person who had spoken, being met by five boys standing there with their trays full of food.
"guys, thank you for being here. can you tell her to go away please?" donghyuck asked his friends with pleading eyes.
"don't bother." dahyun told, smiling at her brother's friends. "i'm leaving anyway. my boyfriend is waiting for me. bye guys. enjoy your meal!"
"bye dahyun!" they replied in chorous before sitting down around donghyuck.
"good thing you arrived. she was pissing me off because i had no one to eat with me." donghyuck declared.
"come on, she's cool to hang around." jaemin rolled his eyes, finding donghyuck's words a bit harsh.
"huh... no, she's not." donghyuck shook his head vigorously.
"she is." chenle nodded. "plus, she always bakes my favourite cookies when we hang out at your place."
"well, she already has a boyfriend, so don't get your hopes up." jisung told.
"i wasn't- "
"wait! she has a boyfriend?!" donghyuck exclaimed.
"yeah...? that's what she just said." renjun nodded.
"since when?" donghyuck's brows furrowed.
"we just learned it, you know, so we're as lost as you." jeno explained.
"as if her ugly face could find a boyfriend." donghyuck scoffed. "wait, not ugly face, because i have the same." he continued. "ugly personality. yeah. as if she could be with a boy with that personality of hers."
"don't complain too much. this means she'll spend less time at home, and then have less time to bother you." renjun told, making donghyuck smile devilishly.
"oh, right!" he nodded. "i'm already starting to love her boyfriend..."

"let's start with five laps around the field!" donghyuck declared as he started running, soon followed by his teammates.
he was the captain of the school's soccer team. actually, he had been on the team since he entered college, but this year, he had been promoted as captain of the team. and he loved it. it fit his bossy personality perfectly.
the national championship for college students was approaching, and donghyuck was decided to bring his team the further possible.
the national championship was the ultimate goal for college teams. it was a huge event broadcasted on tv in the whole country. and their school had never made it to the quarter finals, so, he intended on training his team hard so that they could reach that goal.
plus, donghyuck had overheard that the school's basketball team – of which mark had been captain for three years – had never participated in the national championship. sure, they had won the regional championship three times in a row, but participating in such an even was way more impressive, and for once, it would make donghyuck better than mark.
and that was something motivating for him.
"okay, now let's get in pairs and work on dribbles." donghyuck exclaimed as his team listened to him.
training was long and required a very good physical condition.
donghyuck was really pushing them to their limit, because he knew that they needed to get better if they wanted to be good at the national championship.
plus, the competition was approaching fast. in two weeks, they will be heading to the capital where the championship would be held, and donghyuck didn't judge them ready for the competition yet.
one hour and a half had passed since they had started training, and donghyuck could see them all out of breath because of the difficulty of his exercises. he wasn't much better either.
"okay, guys. let's have a short break. and then, we'll split into teams and play a match, is that alright?"he asked, earning nods from his teammates. "great, have a break then!"
the whole team headed towards the bleachers where they all had their bottles of water.
one of the players stayed behind though: chunho.
he was a great player, passionate about soccer, and valued by the team because of his talent.
the coach had even wanted to make him team captain, but sadly, donghyuck had been taken in the team, and he turned out to be better than chunho, causing him to become the team captain.
so, yeah, chunho had been particularly mad about it, and he couldn't help but wish for donghyuck to lose his spot as team captain to become leader himself.
but, well, the tanned male couldn't care less about what chunho wanted. donghyuck wanted to be the best, and by being team captain he was, so he wouldn't let another player take his spot.
donghyuck gulped down some water, not caring about chunho's glare, and he passed a hand in his brown hair to rearrange them. he caught a glimpse of someone walking down the bleachers.
before he could ask himself who that person was, this same person spoke, making donghyuck want to throw the bottle of water in his head.
"hey, guys! good luck on the national championship!"
"mark lee..." donghyuck's eyes unconsciously rolled to the back of his head.
"hi mark!" "hey!" "thanks a lot!" "thank you!" all of his teammates thanked the perfect boy who had taken some time to walk to the soccer field to encourage them.
"no problem! and listen to your captain! he knows what he's doing, okay?"
"yeah!" "of course!" they replied un unison.
donghyuck threw his bottle on the grass, his arms crossing over his chest.
god, he hated mark and his perfect behaviour.
he hated mark and his perfect grades.
he hated his fucking perfectness.
"enough chit chats! let's go back to training!" he declared, turning his back to mark who was waving at him.
