Tom Shannon had always loved Whitney. She had always been kind, cheery, funny, sincere, and it didn't hurt that she was absolutely beautiful. When he'd finally worked up the confidence to ask her out, around a year ago, he'd been so happy. But, when the news had gotten out about Whitney, he'd felt so stupid. Whitney had been acting rather proud after all of it, as if being caught cheating meant that she was better than everyone else.
