Chat Noir/Adrien's POV:

As the night come over us in minutes, I couldn't stop this thought from passing through my thoughts that we were being hunted down. Someone was onto us, but who? We'd been pretty secretive of what we were doing and where we were going. I was so frustrated. But with Y/N there, I let a little of that frustration leave me. I detransformed to give Plagg a rest.
"What are you worried about?" he asked, a chunk of cheese in his small kwamii paws. I groaned and laid back on my back, opposite side of the camp fire of where Y/N slept.
"You don't understand... I think we're being hunted down! Plagg, of all the times to be serious, this is it!" I snapped. We were locked in silence for a little while. As I stared up at the stars, I thought of how my father would react to how long I've been gone. Was Nathalie out looking for me? Possibly. Actually, more than likely.
"Look, Adrien," Plagg finally said. "I'm just saying that if we need to take extreme measures, then we just need to take them carefully. Bad things are going to happen, and maybe we can stop that, maybe we can't. And it's not just going to happen to Y/N. It's also going to happen to you." I stared at his green eyes and saw a flash of sadness in them. Did he know something that I didn't?
"Plagg? Do you know something I don't?" I questioned, sitting up. Plagg didn't answer. He just flew into my white jacket and fell asleep. I sighed and stared at the fire for a bit. Then I glanced over at Y/N. I stared at her for moments, before finally deciding. I crept over to her and laid next to her.
Her steady breathing was so soothing and I think it lullaby me asleep.

The morning was cold when I woke up. In front of my eyes, I saw the still burning ashes of the fire and the smoke that lazily rose in the air. I sat up and looked down at Y/N. She was still peacefully asleep. I smiled and then remembered that if she were to wake up, she'd know my identity. I stood quietly, nudging Plagg. "Hey, wake up. Time to transform," I whispered.
Before he could object, I went through the transformation sequence in the dim morning light. My suit was surprisingly cold to my back and stomach. I shivered a little before trying to rebuild the fire again. I leapt into the green forest, always glancing back to make sure Y/N was still asleep. Grabbing logs, leaves and some twigs, I went back and started putting the leaves and twigs back on the burning coals. Soon, orange flames lifted into the air and heat rose with it.
"Chat...?" I turned my head to Y/N, her eyes blinking awake and slowly sitting up. I purred and smiled at her.
"Good morning, Kitten! How'r you feeling?" I asked quietly. She didn't look up at me. She just sat there, almost as if she were falling asleep again. I crept forward and looked at her for a moment. Something was off about her. Something was not right!
"Kitten?" I stared at her and waited for a response. But there was non. Only heavy, sleepy breathing. I reached out to her shoulders and started shaking her. "Y/N! Answer me!!" I yelled, my voice echoing around us. Then suddenly, Y/N burst into a cloud of orange smoke. My eyes widened and my heartbeat amped up, beating terribly hard against my ribs. And there was only one word in my mind at that moment. And I couldn't stop the rage in my heart from screaming out that word.
"VOLPINA!!"

Y/N's POV:

It was bright where I was. White light showered over me as I sat up and rubbed my eyes from sleep. "Chat...?" I said sleepily. There was barely any answer. Just the tapping of feet on a stone floor. Just the ticking of a clock. And just the sound of my beating heart in my throat.
I felt the stone floor under my hands, cold and wet. "Welcome," a female's voice called out in an echo to me. I didn't move. I froze, my veins turning the same temperature as the floor. Beyond the white light, darkness that went on and on forever.
"Who...? Who's there?" I called out, brushing off the fear in my chest.
"You don't know me, but I know you," the voice said back, pausing carefully. "You know what power I hold, but you do not know my face. And what you don't know is that Chat Noir is mine. Mine to love. Mine to keep. You won't find him now, Y/N." An echo of laughter bellowed around me. I stood up, my legs wobbling. Suddenly, chains wrapped around my arms and legs and pulled my down.
"Oh, don't think I would let you wake up now, would I?" I gritted my teeth together and glanced up at the light.
"Wake up?" I echo back, anger boiling like lava in my voice. A small, creeping burst of laughter bounces around me.
"Chat will find me. And I know he won't be fooled by your trickery!" I yelled, irritation flaring like fire in my veins.

Chat Noir/Adrien's POV:

The wind glides past my face, ruffling my hair. My black cat ears are folded back. I grit my teeth together, anger bursting with my heart beat. Why did Volpina have to get caught up in this!? I've had enough on my plate to deal with, especially with finding Ladybug. My feed pound on the forest floor, kicking up leaves, pine needles, and twigs as I run. I slow my pace and listen carefully. Someone's eyes are burning through my shoulder blades.
I twist around, glaring through the trees that now sparkled with sunlight. "Volpina!" I called, an echo spreading through the forest. My tail lashed through the air angrily. "Stop hiding! I need to talk to you." The leaves of the trees behind me rustled and a pair of dark green eyes stared at me.
I clenched my hand into a fist. "Chat!" Volpina drops from the trees and stands, smiling. I can hear my teeth rubbing against each other. "It's been so long. How have you been? Where's Ladybug?" She asked, walking towards me. I twirl my staff around me before slamming it to the ground before her.
"You don't get to ask the questions here. I want to know one thing, and if you refuse to answer," I warned, "things will get pretty distasteful for you."
