im fighting a nose bleed
on a saturday night
in a hotel room
all alone
and i realize
that codependency and independence
are two entities
that like to overlap yet repel at the same time
i can think about only
my desire to bring him home
and not as in to bed in a scandalous way
but to my childhood home
where he could swing from
my trees
and eat all the berries
in my front yard where i
used to climb on the fences
and watch the sunset
while the neighbors dogs
wrestled in the yard
