"i am a lone wolf, searching for peace......"

Well

this is awkward

i looked around the living room

which at the moment didn't quite live up to it's name

the rouge wolves in front of me sat in a cluster not too far away from me but they all remained silent and tremmbling behind one person

'i'm not sure what to do here' i said too blue as we all engaged in an intense round of that staring contest i use to play when i was little though not a hit of fun or friendlyness was behind this and even if we blinked we would continue to stare...

'introduce yourself, make some sort of conversation this silence is killing me!'

"um" i started, clearing my throat quietly, god i was thirsty "i think we got off to a rocky start before"

the man who was treating my wounds before raised an eyebrow pulling the pup closer to him in the process his gold eyes held catiousness and i could feel his power radiating off of him

'rejected alpha maybe?' i found myself asking blue

'no his influence is too weak for an alpha, beta maybe'

"yes" mister gold eyes said the pup seated in his lap "a bumpy start indeed"

the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife

the staring continued until the other little girl came towards me and i tensed causing a light growl to come from mister golden eyes

"lilly come back here" he growled in a deep tone

'that was a beta voice' blue chimed and i noted this

mister gold eyes was a beta

but lilly ignored him as she stood only mere centimeters away from me tilting her head ginger hair flowing just past her shoulders and her voice was soft and sweet this girl could be no older than seven

"hi i'm lilly" she said beaming at me to which i couldn't help but smile

"hi there lilly" i said gently "i'm alexis but you call me lexi" and if it were possible i could have sworn her smile grew bigger

i felt a tugging sensation in my chest and i discreetly rose my hand to rub it lilly frowned at my hand and i instantly knew i didn't like this girl not smiling

"are you hurt" lexi she said with an adoribal pout on her face and i smiled weakly

"no lilly i'm okay now, why don'y you go back over to your group?"

she frowned deeper looking over to mister gold eyes she huffed and i smiled wider

"beta shawn dosen't like meeting other people" she said looking back to me "he said that all they do is hurt us, he said that no pack would accept people like us" gold eyes, shawn, let off low warning growl and i fought the growl that rose in my chest

now was not the time for unnessesary conflict

"and what are you lilly?"

"banished hy----"

"that's enough" shawn roared causing the pup in his lap to leap up out of shock and then start crying he was quickly grabbed and consoled by the only female in the group"you know better then to just run your mouth lilly" his eyes were no longer golden but a vibrantshimmering yellow his wolf was close to the surface

'we need to be careful' blue told me 'we may be of alpha blood but as a runt we cannot stand up to a full grown shifted male wolf'

"shawn" the women who i had at first gathered to be his mate said but he ignored her which bled light to all my assumtions being wrong

striding towards us he grabbed lilly by the scruff pulling her to his side and i held in a growl that threatened once more to make itself known in my throat

"i only came here to talk to your alpha and had no intention to heal you" he growled out

"i think you need to calm down" i said calmly as i watched his grip tighten on lillys scruff and she whimpered quietly but he was too far gone to pay attention

"now you tell me where the hell your alpha is or i'm tearing this place down it's it's foundations"

"your looking at he"r i told him climbing too my feet he growled harshly

"your lying" he seethed

"no" i told him firmly unsure as to where all my courage came from "this is my hime as banged up as it might be, my territoy and i would appriciate it if you stopped talking to me like that it makes it hard for me to remain calm, and my wolf dosen't like the way your holding lilly" i didn't tear my gaze from his hand

he blinked a few times before looking down eyes widening as lilly whimpered again begging to be let go and he did she automatically ran to me and i held her she cried softly into my shirt and i petted her hair unsurly

i looked up to shawn and his eyes were that soft golden again telling my he was in contol once he was looking right at me  and i smiled comfortingly i stretched my hand over lillys head still comforting her

hi i said again my names alexis but you can call me lexi

he stared at my hand for a long moment but even after that he didn't take it he looked from my hand to lilly then into my eyes

"if your an alpha" he said slowly "then why don't you make us leave, can't you tell that we're different?"

i frowned looking at all of them i tilted my head to the side "different" i repeated feeling blues confusion mix in with my own "all i see here is a group of lonely werewolves in need of some sort of home"

he laughed for the first time since i saw him that day "she can't tell" he said quietly before looking back to his make shift pack before laughing "quietly she can't tell" i smiled a little

"to you i may seem like an unexsperienced pup, but you don't know how much i had to give up to get this far.... but i'd understand if you would want to go on your way" i looked around the living room

"i don't want to leave" lilly mummbled against my stomach as she pulled back to look up at me "your the nicest alpha i've met so far"

i heard a few of the other wolves mutter their agreements

"others wouldn't even let us set foot on their land" a dark skinned man  muttered off in the farthest corners choclate brown hair slicked back with sweat, they all did seem kind of dirty

"and even if we did get on the land he wouldn't listen to us long enough to hear us out" another said red hair hung over his forehead in loose curls he looked no older then maybe thirteen

"but" said the only female "you not only sat down and listened but took our leaders disrespect" she stood up walking beside shawn as she touched his back gently and he turned to her a loving sort of look in his eyes, i would find this out later that they were in fact not mates but passed lovers under a mutual understanding that they couldn't but together until they couldn't find their mates

 a pang of jealousy struck my chest as i craved that sort of fondness and tenderness from my other half

only to quickly remember that i would never have that sort of thing

shawn sighed "it looks like i might me out voted here" there were quiet 'yes's' and 'suck it up princess's' that had him growling playfully behind him

"well alpha lex---"

"just lexi" i corrected to which he smiled

"if you are still willing to have us"

"i'm always willing to welcome new members, i have a few empty spots open i pretty sure i could fit you in somewhere..." i lifted lilly up into my arms feeling her snuggle into my neck he chuckled

"then i beta shawn and my pack of six wish to join the ... um .. i don't think i caught your packs name"

i froze

drats i didn't come up with a name

i saw him raise an eyebrow at my panicked exspression

"DON'T WORRY I'VE GOT YOUR BACK LEX I'VE BEEN THINKING OF THIS ALL MORNING!!!"

I winced slightly at blues loud enthusiatic voice and i laughed a little at it

lay it on me girl we don't got all day i told her as she relayed the anme to me and i smiled at shawn who stared at me exspectantly

(i bet you all saw this coming)

"freedom" i said "i alpha alexia welcome you beta shawn and your pack of six to the freedom pack"

i accept he said with a smile as lilly repeated his words along with his chosen mate and the young pup and his three other members (it was a pack of six+shawn right?)

a felt the tug on my chest tighten more and it was only now that i realised that it wasn't pain that i was feeling

but pride

i smiled warmly at everyone as their greetings started to fill my head as out pack bond grew

and at this moment i didn't care if i didn't have a mate

i have a pack

so instead of loving my mate i'll love my pack with all the love that was suppose to go to him or her

i didn't need a mate to be happy
