Chapter 5
She remembered the cold splash of water on her face and the feeling of drowning. Rey was surprised she wasn't dead yet.
The waves caught onto her dress, tangling the fabric and grabbing at it. Her hair stuck itself to the sides of her face and her legs kicked at the water.
"Help!" She coughed out raising her weak hands up to the sky. A few feet away she spotted a royal ship. She waved her arms higher.
Someone must've spotted her for the ship was coming closer. Rey closed her eyes tight as the frigid water chilled her skin and sent shivers down her back.
All she remembered after that was countless shouts and arms grabbing at her, pulling her out from what could've been her watery grave.

She awoke to a throbbing headache and the shuffling of feet. The ruined wedding dress was still on her body. A torn and tattered mess that most likely couldn't be saved.
A few moments later a woman came in carrying a nearly folding pair of clothes.
"I see you're awake?"
"Yeah. Where am I?"
"In the kingdom of Storm, my dear. You must be the prince's missing bride. You don't know how relived and happy everyone is. The wedding will be back on in a few days when you've fully healed."
She dropped the clothes onto the edge of her bed before shuffling off. "Get your rest!"
Rey nodded reaching for the simple dress in front of her. She peeled off the barely hanging on wedding gown before gasping at the sight of her. Her skin was fresh with bruises and cuts scattered along her body while her arms were wrapped in thick fabric bandages. Sighing, she slowly put on the dress before settling back into bed,
Her eyes wandered out the small window, scanning over the trees and buildings that made up the town.
This was it. She was saved and will be married to Finn in a few days.
The thought almost left an unsettling pit in her stomach.
