[B3] Episode 19
🌺
He's still Yvo's big brother, after all. Tita Saturn calmly called the guards of the subdivision not to let the boy out if they so happen to see him. She also instructed them to make rounds around the place to check her pamangkin's whereabouts.
Dos, Jarvis, Inno and River all agreed to help look outside kasama ng mga bodyguards habang si Box and Annika naman accompanied Ken back to her room to help calm her down. She was still crying kasi she thinks it was her fault kaya naglayas si Yvo.
But it wasn't Ken's fault. It was hers. She can't help but feel guilty about it dahil siya naman talaga yung root cause of Yvo's jealousy. Kasi kung sasama siya sa paghahanap, Yvo might not like like it. She might get lost and just add up to the stress.
Maybe she should just check up on her sister. After all, family should always come first.
As she was about to stand up, she turned to see Seven sitting by the table not looking fazed at all. He was quietly eating his food while watching something on his tablet.
"Seven?" tawag niya dito. "Are you okay? Do you want to go upstairs din with your brother?"
"I'll eat first, Ate. Sayang po nung food."
"Oh, I see." She was about to leave but curiosity got the best of her. "Um... Seven?"
"Yes, po?"
"Aren't you worried about your cousin?" she straight up asked. He just sat there and watch everyone panic.
"Hindi po," the boy replied—still munching on his food. "He'll be fine po. Wala naman po siyang pera kaya babalik 'yon kapag nagutom na po siya."
"But... what if he doesn't?"
"He will po," Seven answered confidently. "Nagpapalipas lang po 'yon ng sama ng loob. Ga'non po kasi talaga siya eh. Matampuhin."
"So, this happened before?"
So Yvo's that kind of kid? Sensitive and the clingy type. If ever he grows up and eventually likes someone, ang cute lang. He's somewhat like his brother. Bigla siyang may na-realize.
"Hey, Seven?" "Whenever Yvo runs away, do you know where he usually go?"
Agad namang tumango ito.
"Can you come with me?" she asked. "I think it's better if we find him first so I can finally have a talk with Dos' baby brother."
🌺
George knows Dos will be pissed at her kapag nalaman nito ang binabalak niyang gawin. But it was the only way para maayos na kung anuman ang problema nilang magkapatid. And she's quite sure it was her who's the root of that problem.
"There po ate," Seven pointed by a small tent. "He's there po. He usually goes to abandoned areas po kapag gusto niyo mapag-isa. He likes star-gazing."
She can't help but smile awkwardly. Parang nagka-camping kasi si Yvo in the middle of an empty lot inside the subdivision. Funny dahil it was kind of an open area pero hindi pa rin ito mahanap ng mga kuya nito.
"Thank you, Seven," she said smiling at the boy. "Will you be going back to the house na?"
Seven nodded and smiled. "Yes po, ate. Wala po kasi magliligpit nung pinagkainan kasi busy po sila maghanap sa pasaway kong pinsan."
She chuckled and playfully ruffled his hair before leaving to go to Yvo. Yup. He set up his own tent pero maliit lang iyon. Enough for a ten-year old boy.
Napabuntong-hininga siya.
"Yvo? Hey. Come out na. Your kuya is worried about you," she said as she crouched down sa may tapat ng tent. "He's been looking for you kanina pa."
"Go away!" he exclaimed. "Leave me alone!"
"But Yvo, it's cold here. You should go home na--"
"Uuwi lang ako kapag wala na kayo!"
Again, she heaved a sigh. Para itong si Red kapag nagta-tantrums. Too stubborn for his own good. And as an "Ate" she usually bribes her brother with video games. Sometimes money. But judging by what Seven has told her, Yvo's a different case.
She fished out a pack of Combos from her pocket. Seven said it was the boy's favorite snack. And judging by how he hasn't eaten since lunch, for sure ay gutom ito.
"Okay then," she said opening the pack--making sure the sound of the packaging can be heard, and sat on the small chair near the tent. "I'll just wait for you here 'til you come out. I brought snacks pala. Do you like Combos?"
Silence. Hindi ito sumagot so she just smiled. Alam niyang gagana ang plano niya. Yvo will be lured out in no time.
It wasn't even five minutes when she heard the zipper of the tent being opened. She smirked. Like what she planned, Yvo peaked and immediately saw her eating his favorite snack. Kitang-kita niya ang paglunok nito while looking straight at the bag of Combos on her hand. Pero when Yvo saw her looking, he looked away.
"You want some?" she offered.
But Yvo was a prideful kid. He just scoffed before going back inside his tent. She chuckled at how alike Yvo and Dos were. It's just so cute!
She stood up, taking small chair with her to sit closer to Yvo's tent. So that he'll get more tempted kasi maririnig niya yung wrapper.
And as always, she was right. Yvo peaked again. Pero this time, she was ready na and held the bag of Combos closer sa entrance ng tent. It appeared directly sa harapan ni Yvo which shocked the poor kid. Hindi niya napigilang matawa.
"Come on," she said--still chuckling. "I know you're hungry since you haven't eaten your dinner yet--"
He was about to grab it but thank God for her semi-fast reflexes. This kid, really. He really thinks he could outsmart her.
"Na-ah," she said while wagging her finger at him. "If you want to eat, you should know how to share. Okay?"
Yvo glared at her. Wow. The audacity of this kid. Parang si Dos lang din talaga but a much more transparent version. Dos kasi is so... pa-mysterious eh. Still, they're both cute.
"This is my food," she explained. "My food, my rules."
"You probably got that from our pantry," he muttered as he sat next to her. He had no choice naman kasi to begin with. She could clearly hear his stomach rumbling. Natawa siya.
"You don't like sharing, 'no?" she commented sabay abot ng pagkain dito. Yvo immediately took a piece and started eating. "Because Dos tends to just give everything to you. Am I right?"
Again, she was ignored. He just sat there and ate as if she wasn't there.
"You know, it's rude to not answer kapag tinatanong," she said making the kid roll his eyes.
"Yes. Lagi nagpapaubaya sa'kin si Kuya," he answered half-heartedly then grabbed the food packet. "I'm the youngest. Maliban 'don sa bulinggit."
She nodded. So she was right. it all stems out to the fact na hindi ito marunong makipag-share. Kahit kasi siguro ang mga pinsan nito, nagpapaubaya lagi sa kanya being he's the youngest boy of the family.
Hindi outright magkamukha ito at si Dos but you can see some similarities. Especially when his brows from a knot. Nagiging magkamukha talaga ang magkapatid.
"Will you stop staring?" biglang saad ni Yvo. "Geez. You're creeping me out."
Natawa siya. He's really his brother's brother. Nakakatuwa. Like a mini version of Dos. A much clingy and transparent version of Dos.
"Luh, baliw," biglang sambit nito sabay subo ng pagkain. A few minutes passed at halos naubos na nito ang dala niyang pagkain. Gusto niya sana yayain ito pabalik na but an idea popped up in her mind.
"Hey Yvo," she called making the boy turn towards her. "Since I gave you my food, will you give me your brother?"
Then he immediately shoved the bag of food towards her.
"Thanks, but no."
"Why not? I gave you my food, didn't I?"
"He's my brother. He's not a food." Natawa uli siya. Yvo's so cute. Like Dos lang. "Saka sa pantry namin 'to galing eh. Kaya akin 'tong pagkain. It's not yours."
"Pero hindi naman ikaw yung bumili nung food so technically speaking, the food's not yours either."
"But my parents bought this--"
"Still, not yours."
Yvo pouted. Mukhang may sasabihin pa sana ito but he stopped. So she propped her elbows on top of her lap and rested her chin on her palms.
"What's your point?" he said clearly losing patience. "Whatever you say, I'm not giving you my brother."
"Why?" she feigned innocence.
"Kasi hindi bagay si kuya," he spat. "He's not mine. He's not yours either. Hindi rin siya pagkain sa pantry na pwede ipamigay--"
Her smile grew wider as she watched Yvo speak. Napahinto naman agad ito when he realized she was just making him realize something. He sighed.
"Hindi ko pinagdadamot ang kuya ko," he then just said. "I just wanted to spend some time with my brother this summer since he's not busy with school anymore but he can't even play video games with me because he's always on his phone talking to you. Akala ko magkakaron na ako ng chance ngayon kasi mahina ang signal dito but he just had to bring you over. Can't I spend time with my own brother for once?"
"Oh Yvo..." She can't help but feel guilty after hearing those words come out straight from him. She gently patted his head na agad naman nitong iniwasan. Still, she continued to do so. "Did you talk about it na with your brother? Did you tell him you wanted to spend time with him lang?"
"Why would I?" he immediately spat. "We're boys. We don't talk about feelings."
"Pareho talaga kayo ng kuya mo," she can't help but comment. "Still, you have to tell him. Hindi mind reader ang kuya mo. If you have an issue pala with him not giving you attention, then tell me. He's so worried for you kaya."
"Worried? He told me I was being a brat for ignoring you," he spat.
"Well, you were," she spat back and folded her arms. "You even made my sister cry."
Yvo looked genuinely shocked. Hindi naman sa sinisisi niya talaga ito sa pag-iyak ni Ken but he did hurt her feelings. And she's still a big sister na ready awayin ang kung sino man umaway sa kapatid niya. But she'll be lenient with Yvo 'coz she knows he didn't really mean it like that. And Ken's a strong girl. She'd get even with him in her own way.
"Kendall cried?" he asked again. "Because of... me?"
Tumango siya. Bigla tuloy siyang na-guilty dahil mukhang bothered talaga ito.
"I... I didn't mean it--"
"I know," she cut him off and smiled. Then she stood up. "But you still hurt her so you should come home with me na and ask for her forgiveness. I'm not taking 'no' for an answer."
He held out her hand and he just looked at it. Maya-maya ay tinanggap nito iyon and stood up too. "What about my tent?"
"We'll just ask someone to get it later," sagot niya agad dito. "Bahala ka. Kendall might not look like it but she's a spiteful little girl. She likes to get even."
"You're bluffing."
"Am I?" she raised an eyebrow. "Or do you want to just watch and see na lang how she'll make you cry like a little girl?"
It didn't take them long para makabalik sa villa ng mga Montecillo. To her surprise, almost everyone was gathered sa may front porch. Did Seven tell the other to wait for them? She gasped when she saw a familiar body guard standing with them with a familiar looking girl in braids.
"Ate! Yvo!" Kendall saw her first and all heads turned towards their direction. That's when she got a clear view kung sino ang batang babaeng kasama nito.
"Uno? What are you doing here?" The girl in braids then turned to her and walked forward like she was ready to fight. Wait. It wasn't towards her. Kay Yvo ito nakatingin. And she looked mad. "Uno?"
"You!" the kid blurted out startling Yvo. She was quite petite but she managed to push Yvo and pin him to the ground. "Bakit mo pinaiyak ang Kenny ko?!"
"Uno!"
Yes. Kendall gets even. She just didn't anticipate it to be this soon.
