CHAPTER THIRTEEN - GAME OVER

━━━━━ •:•☾☼☽•:• ━━━━━

THE MORNING FOLLOWING THAT EVENTFUL NIGHT, Becky had woken up with maybe one of the worst hangover's she had ever endured. Her eyes screwed shut when they fluttered, the pulsating in her head was making her unbelievably sick. What made her even more sick was the fact that when she had turned in the bed, which may she add, was not one she was familiar with — there was a completely naked stranger sleeping next to her.

She didn't do these things. Sleeping with other people were below her, but for some reason, she felt the need to and she didn't understand why. ( No, she understood why she did what she did. It was admitting the reasons why she did it was the hardest for her. ) She did it because she felt the need to feel something other than jealousy. An entire different feeling than what she felt when Josephine whispered those things to her. Did she do it to prove something, or do it because she wanted to hurt her? Becky hadn't decided which one sounded more appealing to her.

So for that entire week Becky felt completely disgusted of what she had done, and it was not the thought of hurting Josephine because of the choices she had made. It was because she did not do one night stands. Josephine, she thought. That woman was starting to mess with her head. She was making her do things that she would not normally do.

Becky was not the type of woman to get totally consumed with the thought of someone else to the point where she would control her actions, but it was happening. Josephine had got under her skin, more than once now and it was starting to get really annoying.

But what could be more annoying that a certain blonde, you ask? The fact that Vince McMahon came up with the conculison to put the pair into a Tag-Team match before Tables, Ladders, and Chairs would take place. Becky had got the text message this morning, wanting to change the direction of the storyline.

That's where she was headed to right now. The Irish Woman was sitting in the back of a rental vehicle with a coffee in one hand, and her phone in the other. A beanie was placed on top of her head with sunglasses hiding her sleepy eyes, and an attempt to hide her bruised face. ( thank you, Nia. )

Vince had called her early this morning, which made Becky jump awake since she hit the off button to her alarm clock, and then falling back to sleep. She was already feeling fustrated with herself for not getting a morning work out in, because she was always serious with her gym time. The last thing she wanted was to be stuck in a room with the same woman whom she had a disliking towards. That's what Becky liked to call it.

"You're doing a tremendous job, Josephine!" Becky opened up the door to Vince McMahon's office just when she knocked once, interrupting an obvious good conversation that was going in the blonde's favor. "The crowd absolutely loves the feud we have building here."

"That was always my goal, Mr. McMahon." Josephine looked straight into the old man's aged eyes, her lips going over her teeth while she mustered up the best, award winning smile that made Becky almost sick.

The sole reason of Becky's eyes being hidden gave her the hidden ability to rack up Josephine's figure. On her body was a salt and pepper suit that hugged her curves almost too perfectly. Her blonde hair was tucked back behind her ears and she was extra perky.

"Rebecca, it's so nice for you to finally join." Josephine's eyes flickered towards the new arrival. Smiling in a way that Becky knew was not suppose to be a kind gesture. She was mocking her.

Mr. McMahon had to agree with her which further began to press her buttons. He turned towards her with a stern expression. "Rebecca, I expect you to be on time for meetings. You are the champion after all."

Oh, how badly she wanted to roll her eyes and snap towards Josephine who looked on with a victorious smile. But instead, she mustered the courage to swallow her pride and respond with a much more calmer approach. "I'm very sorry, Vince. It won't happen again."

It surprised Josephine. She had initially thought that she would of gotten a reaction from The Man, but instead, Becky walked further into the room with her finger's playing with her expensive sunglasses. She did however choose the chair that was on the other side of the couch which was occipied by The Mad Hatter. Josephine studied the woman with interest in her eyes, she looked worse for wear with bags under her eyes.

"Now, let's get this over and done with. Same promo tonight just a different but better ending. Becky, you will be teaming up with Josephine to take on Charlotte and Naomi."

Josephine's perfectly shaped brows furrowed in confusion. She knew she was going to be teaming with Becky, but what surprised her was their opponents. Naomi was not even in the title picture and he was just throwing her in now? ( Not that she shouldn't be in the picture, she was way more talented than her. )

Just as Becky was reading the thoughts that were going through Josephine's head, she questioned her bosses decision. "Why Naomi? She hasn't even earned a contenders spot!"

Vince McMahon obviously didn't like Becky's input, and Josephine was now realizing how lucky she was when she decided to not open her mouth and ask him herself. "Because I make the matches and this is my business, Rebecca. You best remember that." Vince told her firmly like scolding a child which only made Becky scowl silently in her seat.

"Well, if you're gonna add Naomi in the match, I want something too." Becky leaned forward in her seat, repositioning her belt like she was a person of power or something. Josephine wanted to roll her eyes as she leaned one arm on her knee and placed a smirk on her face.

"If she loses than she's out of a title shot." Becky proposed which made Josephine's head turn towards the ginger, her brows raising in surprise. "Whoever pins her will get the shot at TLC, end of discussion." Josephine's blue eyes flickered towards her boss, noticing that he was actually thinking about it for a good minute. Vince couldn't possibly agree to add this to the match, could he? "The people will love it. Adds to the suspension."

Josephine felt the air get sucked out of her lungs when the word she didn't want to hear escaped his mouth. The anger and the frustration started to bubble inside of her which only made Becky smirk even more as she sat back in the chair with that same mocking smirk on her face.

What once was a game had turned into a full blown war and Josephine was not about to go down without a fight.

━━━━━ •:•☾☼☽•:• ━━━━━

After the business meeting had wrapped up and Smackdown was underweigh, Josephine sat down in the makeup chair with her phone in her hand. Christmas was next week and Josephine had no idea what to do. Usually, she visited her parents graves and reflected on her life. Telling her mother and father everything that had happened during the year, silently wishing that she could visit actual human beings and feel her parents warm embrace again.

She hated Holidays. Every Holiday came with the thought of her parents and filled with what if's. Sometimes the thought of her parent's spirits becoming annoyed at her for visiting every year popped into her mind, maybe she would take Sonya's invitation to spend the holidays with her family.

That was a topic that crossed her mind quite frequently, now more than ever. After that night at the bar, Sonya had taken her home when she had drank clearly way to much. When she had woken up the next morning, she found the Italian laying beside her. Brown eyes were filled with concern when Josephine had opened her eyes, her fingers in her hair while she threw the contents of her stomach into the toilet.

They talked about a lot that night. More than Josephine would have liked but the weight on her shoulders weren't as heavy anymore. She felt relieved that she had atleast told someone about the whole situation involving Becky and Sonya didn't judge her for it.

Josephine also learned that the sole reason why Sonya had been avoiding her lately is because Sonya felt something deeper for her, something that Josephine couldn't give her because she loved someone else. Josephine understood now why she stopped hanging out with her and she couldn't be mad about it, not really. Josephine knew that deep down, whether she liked it or not that eventually one of them would catch feelings for the other.

Speaking of the Italian, Sonya began walking down the corridor towards the hair and makeup looking for the blonde. Once she had spotted her amongst the other superstars that were either getting ready or chatting it up with their co-workers, she made a bee-line for the girl.

Josephine rose her head just as she was getting a red lipstick painted on her lips, her blue eyes flickering towards Deville as soon as she spotted her. Josie smiled at her as she stopped infront of her chair. "What's the tea, baby?" she questioned.

Josephine grabbed her zip-up sweater from the chair once the makeup artist finished her work on Josephine's face. "Dreading this match, you?" she answered truthfully.

Becky and Josephine had not spoken a word to eachother until the business meeting, and that was only trying to remain civil infront of their boss. Sonya could obviously remember when she took her home only for her to end up in tears, confessing her love for another woman as she cried on her shoulder while shovling ice cream into her mouth.

"I know you're stressed— " Sonya began but she stopped mid-sentence when Josephine stopped to turn around to face her completely.

"Stressed?" Josephine repeated and then wrapped her arms around herself. "I'm exhausted. I'm suffocating and no one seems to care, they just want their fucking story." Josephine snapped and turned back around, mumbling the last few words to herself.

Sonya watched her leave. Not bothering to even go after her because she knew better than to try to comfort the blonde. Instead, she decided to go straight to the source of the problem and maybe knock some sense into the woman with fire for hair.

It was not hard to find Becky before a match. She usually found herself in a dark hallway since she didn't like to be around people before she walked on that stage and down towards the ring. Sonya saw the mop of red hair in the distance, the woman's back towards her and she began to advance towards her.

"Becks?" Sonya called out which made the red-head in question raise her eyes and turn around, looking at the girl who called out her name.

"Not now, Son." Becky whispered and then put her earpud's back in her ears, the sound of music drowning out everything around her. The noise of the crowd screaming, cheering, or booing, the crew backstage talking with one another. It all drove her insane before a match, she just wanted her alone and her only.

It seemed like Becky could not have the luxery of being left alone though, not in this moment because Sonya quickly snatched the headphone's from her, the buds were yanked from her ears which made Becky furrow her eyebrows and snarl.

"What the fuck, Deville?" Becky spat out like bitter posion. "I said not now!"

Sonya rolled her dark brown eyes at her. She was becoming more annoyed with the way Becky had been acting lately and now that she had the missing puzzle peices, Becky was more violent now that Josephine was in the business.

"I don't fucking care what you said." Sonya spat back with her arms crossed, looking more pissed off than Becky had ever seen. "You need to figure yourself the fuck out — whether you are into women or not — you need to stop stiring the pot with Josephine. This isn't a sick game Becky, her feelings matter."

Becky's brown eyes darkened. Josephine just could not keep her mouth shut, and now she was not just telling her former best-friend Charlotte Flair, Sonya Deville was in the mix now. ( What a surprise. )

"What did you just say?" Becky walked forward like a lion stalking it's prey. Her eyes were almost black now with the anger flowing through her, but her hair was just like an open flame.

"You know what I said." Sonya shook her head and stood her ground infront of her. "Stop trying to hide what you truly feel. Eventually, it will eat you up inside."

Becky clenched her jaw while her fist opened and closed by her sides, her eyes following Sonya's leaving frame. Her brown eyes rolled and they flickered onto the belt laying on the box next to her. ( How dare she tell her how she should feel. She was the champion and the champ doesn't answer to anyone. )

With a frown and more anger flowing through her body, Becky picked up her championship and began walking towards the gorilla position. Josephine was already standing there with an oversized light blue sweater on her body that stopped mid-thigh. Alongside her was no other than AJ Styles holding onto her colorful and bright jacket that matched her gear which laid underneath her sweater.

Josephine looked in her direction but just as they connected gazes, she had looked away which made The Man smirk in her direction. Just like a god with it's tail between it's legs. She thought.

Whatever conversation they were having in that moment had stopped as soon as Becky entered earshot, and Josephine coughed awkwardly as the air began to get thick with tension. AJ could feel it too and he wondered if the other crew members could, or perhaps it was because he knew what others did not.

AJ coughed to clear the air, "Switch?" he looked down at the blonde with his arms opened, the jacket ready for her to put on as he held it up.

From beside them Becky watched as Josephine stripped the jacket off her body, her stomach flexing as she moved and put the jacket on. It only got more awkward when she looked up and AJ was staring right at her with a knowing smirk on his face, which made the ginger turn her gaze with a scowl on her face.

"Are you still traveling with me after the show?" Becky didn't mean to eavesdrop on their conversation — who was she kidding, she definitely did.

"Yeah." AJ answered her as he watched her clasp her dark orange jacket together in the front, making the fabric tighter to her body. "I take it you still want to go get something to eat?"

"If that's good with you?" The rest of the conversation seemed to get blocked out once Becky started to mind her own business, obviously not interested in what they were going to eat at the end of the show. Besides, she had bigger and better things to worry now. She had to find a way to make Josephine lose, not her.

Sure it would cost her the match but she didn't exactly lose if she didn't get pinned.

As soon as AJ turned around to leave, Josephine advanced to the spot next to the ginger which made her look towards her. "Ready Champ?" A production hand made the ginger take her eyes off the blonde. "Almost time."

"The Champ's always ready," Becky answered with confidence and her usual cocky tone that was getting really overused, Josephine thought. "what about you, love? scared, nervous? Wouldn't want you to lose your number one contender spot."

Josephine huffed out in annoyance and rolled her eyes so hard, she could almost feel them rotate off their axes. "I never doubt myself, Rebecca. I know what I'm capable of."

"Oooh first names. I can feel the anger coming off of ya." Becky chuckled as she laid her championship on her shoulder.

Josephine clenched her teeth and turned to face the ginger, coming into her face which made Becky lick her lips while looking back at her with amusement. "Are you so afraid of losing everything that you have close to you right now, to me?" she poked the championship that laid on her shoulder which made Becky's mouth go into a thin line, no longer smirking.

"The only person who should be afraid right now is you when I win this match and take this at TLC." Josephine's mouth parted as she traced her finger over the studded plates of the championship on Becky's shoulder. "Don't lose tonight, Becks. It would make you look pretty bad going into TLC."

Her teeth clenched as their eyes fought a mental war. Fire and Ice staring into each other. Becky's heated gaze only parted from hers when she was forced to go on stage and come up with another end to this match, because now. Now she needed this bitch to go to TLC with her.

The match started with Becky calling Josephine to the ring to settle the score of The Mad Hatter getting the upper hand on her during her match a week prior. Which had only ended up with Charlotte Flair interrupting to put her own two senses in. The Chairman obviously didn't like that Charlotte Flair was yet again whining about a title shot and walked onto the stage to introduce a 'solution' to their growing conflict and that was bringing Naomi into the mix to form a Tag-Team.

Josephine already knew about the consequence of loosing this match would cost her the title shot she was suppose to be having at TLC, which made Becky lick her lips in delight of just the mere thought of not having to face her at the pay-per-view. If Naomi and Charlotte won, well, they would be facing each other next week to determine who would be replacing Josephine at Tables, Ladders, and Chairs.

( That could not happen, not in a million years would she give up her spot. ) Josephine was preparing herself for the fight, but the war to come was just beginning for her and Becky Lynch. She would be dammed if she gave the satisfaction of her picking up the win for their 'team'.

Pushed to the other side of the ring by the referee once Naomi entered the ring, Josephine removed her burnt orange colored jacket to reveal the multiple patterns of burnt orange that made up her gear.

"Get behind the rope." Becky glanced her way but her eyes were only focused on Naomi deciding to be the first person in the ring.

Josephine turned her head, looking mildly pissed off that she had just decided for herself to be woman waiting to be tagged. ( Which, let's be honest. Becky was not about to tag her into the match in the first place. )

"Oh, so you just have decided that for me?" Josephine questioned which made Becky turn her head towards the blonde, her eyes were now in slits.

"The Champ is going first, Josie." Becky backed her towards the ropes, which only worked for a mere second before Josephine was up and into her face. "Get. Behind. The. Ropes."

Josephine was about to yell and tell her the fuck off when she saw Naomi bounce off the ropes behind Becky. She had to act quick and the best solution that her mind could come up with was pushing Becky into the turnbuckle and taking the hit for her. "Get the fuck out of the way!" Josephine yelled before tossing a confused Becky Lynch into the turnbuckle.

She was pissed off until she saw the sole reason why Josephine did what she did. The blonde collided with the dark skinned woman, tossing her over the top rope and Josephine tumbled to the floor with a thump.

With the distraction of Josephine hitting the ground, Becky hit her with a right hand to the jaw and dragged her to their corner before hitting Naomi with multiple boots to the chest before bringing her to another corner once the Referee pushed her out.

Everything was going in Becky's favor. She was the dominant one in the match and she had yet to tag Josephine in the match which by judging by her facial expression, she was not enjoying this. The only problem was that Becky was growing tired and now there was a pretty fresh Charlotte Flair in the match.

Josephine could see the fatigue setting in for Becky, but not once would the frustrating woman tag her in. She had enough and when Becky was pushed back into their turnbuckle, Josephine had slapped her shoulder pretty hard. The referee had saw it and Becky had felt it.

People were already booing her as she ducked under the ropes and entered in the ring. Becky was already advancing towards her with fire in her eyes and anger flowing through her body, instantly the fatigue she was feeling was gone.

"What the hell are you doing, huh?" Becky practically screamed at her, getting up into the blonde's face. Josephine furrowed her eyebrows and pushed her backwards, which only ended with Becky pushing her back.

"I'm tagging in which means I'm the legal one in the match, Becky!" Josephine didn't even care that they were on television right now. The script was the last thing on her mind.

"I KNOW HOW THE RULES WORK!" Becky screamed at her, her hair flying all over the place as Josephine pushed her back out of her face. Becky hit the ground and Charlotte sat back and watched, catching her breath while an amused expression was on her face.

"Get the fuck behind the ropes, Becky!" Josephine snarled, pointing towards the spot where she had come from. "You can barely get up, let me finish the match!"

"I don't need some whiny little girl finish The Man's matches!" Becky was already standing on her feet, slapping Josephine's arm in a way to 'tag' herself in but both of them knew the rules didn't bend that way.

"You are acting like a child, Rebecca!" Josephine grabbed Becky's arm and pulled her towards her, her voice lowering so no one could hear her, not like anyone could over the cheering crowd right now.

Charlotte had heard enough and they had yet to wrap this match up, even though the crowd was enjoying the back and forth bickering in front of them. Both woman turned at the same time upon hearing advancing foot falls, only to be greeted with The Queen's boot flying towards them. Josephine's forearm had got most of the impact, but Becky had to pretend that Charlotte had hit both of them, and she went dramatically flying to the ground.

Becky rolled out of the ring while Josephine was getting dragged to the middle, her legs were lifted and tangled up with Charlotte's. The real pain started when Charlotte hit the mat and arched her back, and the pain she felt was like no other pain. The screams of Josephine could be heard throughout the arena and if it wasn't for Becky coming back into the ring to save her ass, the match would have ended there.

Naomi grabbed Becky by the hair but The Man reversed and sent Naomi over the ropes to the floor below. Charlotte Flair was the next one up, about to hit Becky with her boot before she ducked and turned her body to collide her boot into Charlotte's mid-section.

Charlotte stumbled out of the ring hitting Naomi on the way down. With both woman down, Becky turned and saw Josephine getting to her feet. With no awareness that Becky had bounced off the ropes, Josephine looked up and saw Becky coming down on her, their bodies colliding and falling to the floor. Becky landed on top of her and the crowd lit up the arena as Becky delivered several punches to her face.

Pushing off of the body underneath her, Becky pulled Josephine by her blonde hair. Her scalp felt like it was on fire as Becky toyed with her, being forced onto her knees as Becky dragged her to the middle of the ring. Pulling her up and delivering her with the Bexploder.

Josephine hit the small of her back rather hard, arching her back in pain while she moved to the turnbuckle with clenched teeth. She didn't deserve the punishment that she was going through. Becky moved back behind the ropes, reaching towards Josephine to tag herself back into the match just as Charlotte Flair was getting back into the ring.

The match ended with a roll-up pin from the Champion, catching Charlotte by surprise. And for Josephine, she was left feeling angry and embarrassed that Becky, once again, had humiliated her in front of the crowd.

Josephine tucked her legs into her chest while she watched Becky leave the ring with a smirk on her face and a limp in her step. Her tongue came out to wet her dry lips while she struggled to breathe, looking back at Josephine with a twinkle in her eye. Josephine shook her head while an actual tear escaped from her eye and rolled down her cheek, and she couldn't stop it. She was crumbling under this game that Becky was playing, but now, it was becoming too personal.

The mask of confidence that she was wearing at the start of this whole feud was slowly coming apart and her true colors were starting to show. She wanted to get out of here, out of the eyes of the curious crowd and the eyes of Charlotte Flair who was staring back at Becky Lynch with disbelief in her eyes. Josephine was suppose to pick up the win tonight, and all four of them knew that.

Charlotte caught the glimpse of Josephine's broken down face as she rolled out of the ring, her hand shielding her stomach as she walked backstage. She had one person and one person only in mind, and that was the red-head herself.

Finding Becky after a match had wrapped up was not hard since she usually could be found in the locker rooms, pulling her hair up into a messy bun. Josephine opened the door as anger flowed through her, embarrassed from all of the following eyes on her frame. She even ignored the calls from her co-workers.

Becky turned at the sound of the door opening, only to be met with a fist to the face. Becky crashed into the lockers behind her, the back of her head knocking off the metal. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Josephine yelled after her fist collided with the Irish Woman, and she turned to twist the lock on the door. The last thing she wanted was to be interrupted and give Becky the perfect escape route.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Becky held onto the side of her face, looking back at her with wild eyes. "Did you seriously just punch me?"

"This game we were playing." Josephine started but her words were choked back from the tears escaping from her eyes. "No more, Becky. I'm done."

"Look at you, running with your tail between your legs again. You were always a coward, Josephine." Becky was standing on her own two feet now, her hand still against her cheek as she licked her lips.

"You were the one running, Becky." Josephine turned back around once Becky's words left her mouth.

She was going to leave it at that, but now with the word coward being thrown out in the open, she needed to defend herself. Josephine had been called tons of names, but coward? That was not one of them.

"You continue to push me away with things that come from your sick head. But enough is enough, Rebecca. I won't stand by and let you ruin the one thing I have left, not while I still have some dignity left."

"Dignity? You lost your dignity when you broke up my engagement." Becky snarled back at her, which made Josephine flinch back with hurt in her eyes.

"You could have told me to fuck off, Becky. Don't forget that you were the one who took me home that night, and then called me to come to your hotel. You mess things up and you blame other people for your mistakes."

Becky laughed. "Don't act like you were special, because you weren't."

Josephine shook her head while her eyes scanned her stone-cold expression with disbelief. "How can you treat me like that? Like I'm nothing?" Josephine whispered as she saw Becky's eyes softened slightly but they hardened just as quick as it happened. "Because when I look at you, I see my whole universe."

Becky stared back at her as the world slowed down around them, and she scanned the distraught face of the blonde before her. The ginger walked towards her which startled Josephine when she stopped just inches away from her face and suddenly, she couldn't breathe.

"Because you don't mean anything." Becky whispered down at her, their eyes gazing back into one another's before Becky unlocked the door and walked out of the locker room.
