Chapter 45| House Of Nightmares
Rabia's POV
I sighed and covered my bruise with makeup. Rayyana, Sabha, and Soojin always asked me why I was so good at makeup but the truth was, I was abused. Ever since I was 7 I had been abused by my foster family.
That's right, I'm adopted. My real parent's didn't want a girl so they gave me up, as the workers at the adoption centre had said. In my opinion people like the one I was living with should not be allowed to adopt.
But hey, it's ALLAH'S plan. None of the girls knew that I was adopted, the last thing I needed was adopted jokes. Although, sometimes when the girl's joke about it I do get offended but I can't say anything about it.
My door slammed open and Kabir my foster dad walked in to my room, he had a bottle of alcohol in his hand. Yeah, you heard me. Kabir and his 4th wife Sabiha were not perfect Muslim's at all.
They drank, they gambled, and I'm pretty sure Kabir is cheating on Sabiha, but I can't say anything about it or else I'll get beaten up.
It's funny, I used to be more happy at school then at home. I used to get bullied at school too but never once had I ever thought of ending my life, or doing anything drastic.
Alhamdullilah.
"You." Kabir was heavily drunk, he lazily pointed to me "Get me.. m-more booze." He took a sip and I watched in horror as his bottle fell onto my carpet, it was now soaked.
I rushed over and quickly picked up the bottle, It was too late. I sighed and looked up at Kabir "What?" I shook my head and handed him the bottle.
I grabbed my purse and my Hijab and walked out of the house, ignoring Sabiha who was moaning in her room.
I checked my phone and saw it was almost Asr time so I headed to the mosque, I quickly did wudu and then prayed Asr.
When I was making Dua I started crying, I asked ALLAH for another better family, ALLAH can do anything, so I'm sure that he will help me.
I quickly cover my face up and go to the liquor store, I pick out some bottles and go to the cash register.
"Hi Rob." I whisper, Rob is the only one who know's about my trouble life, he's also the only non-desi person that was famous around here. He sold booze only to people that weren't muslim, he respected us as much as he could.
I was the only muslim exeptation however. Rob put 3 bottles into a bag and handed them to me "Here you go Steve." Steve was my undercover name, I was wearing boy's clothes so people thought I was a boy.
"Thank's Rob." I took my wallet out but Rob shook his head and told me not to worry about it. I thanked him and ran outside.
I was fixing my bag when someone bumped into me and made me drop my bag, the booze falling out. I gasped and looked up into grey-green eyes. They were mesmerizing, but haunting at the same time.
The rest of his face was amazingly handsome, everything expect the huge scowl on his face "Watch where you-" His eyes casted downwards and his eyes widened.
He looked back up at me and then down at the booze, I quickly scrambled forward to put the booze in the bag. "Your a.. Muslim women buying booze?" He had disgust as well as amusement in his tone.
"No, this isn't for me." He inched closer "Then who's it for?" I clutched the bag to myself and fixed my mask "Who the hell are you to ask me who's this for and what I'm doing?" I huffed and quickly walked away hoping he wouldn't start telling everyone in the streets about me.
"Here you go." I whispered to no-one as I put down the booze on the kitchen counter, Kabir and Sabiha were passed out drunk in their room and I took that as a sign to get some work started. I had to complete this welcome assignment for my college.
It was hella dumb, but I guess it was there way of saying "Make friends!" Who needs friends in college? I don't, I have Soojin I don't need anyone else. I was lucky enough to have saved enough money to get into a good college without getting caught.
Just a month left, then I'm out of here. I could hardly wait, I could be able to do some specific stuff that I wasn't allowed to do, and if I do something extra (I probably won't) I won't get beaten up for it!
I excitedly finished the paperwork and submitted my assignment, college here I come!
I finished packing my suitcase, and lowered it down to the ground testing it. It was perfect! It had been a long month, but I was finally leaving this house of nightmare's!
I smiled at my bag and happily rolled it down the stairs till I got to the front entrance. Sabiha looked down at her suitcase and picked at the cigar between her lips.
"Running away?" When I was little I used to tell Sabiha that I would run away, Sabiha would just nod and wait for me to come home. At least Sabiha was nice enough to feed me when I was young.
"I'm going to college." Sabiha looked at me before she started laughing loudly "You? College?" She continued laughing while I just stood there rolling my eyes. "Yeah, me and college. Goodbye Sabiha, I hope once I'm gone you and Kabir realize how awfully you treated me."
With Sabiha still laughing behind me, I finally left the house of nightmares.
"Wow Rabia, this is a damn nice college." Soojin whistled beside me looking around. Again, this was one of the most highest college's in Karachi of course it was going to be amazing! "Thank's Soojin."
Soojin and I put down my last remaining boxes and Soojin flopped down onto my bed. "I want to go to college too, but dad won't let me." I personally thought it was unfair to Soojin, I wish I could say something but her dad scared me to no end.
He actually reminded me of Kabir a lot. Soojin grinned and got up "Whatever, you have fun for me okay?" Soojin and I hugged, we promised each other to visit every holiday we got. Soojin left 20 minutes after and I spent the rest of the day unpacking.
I slowly opened my eyes and groaned shutting off my alarm clock.
I quickly got up and dressed into a nice pair of jeans, a full T-Shirt, and A black hIjab. I placed my fake glasses on and smiled at myself, I looked amazing!
I grabbed my bad and double checked to see if I had everything, after confirming I happily trotted to my class. I knocked on the door and heard a rough "Yes?" I took a deep breath and walked in.
Surprisingly, there were no students. I checked my watch and realized I was half an hour early. I blushed Great way to start Rabia!
"Your early." I looked up to see a handsome man who I assumed was the teacher, I couldn't see his face but his backside was really hands-
Stop Rabia
Slowly, the man turned around and I gasped.
"YOU?" I yelled
"You?" He surprisingly said.
