Chapter 19| Canada

I yawned and looked outside the private jet I was in. Yeah, I was in a private jet that is Asad's. His parent's had told us to take the jet because they didn't want to ruin our married life with fans surrounding us all the time.

I had never been in a private jet before but it was awesome! When I told the girls they all said they were happy yet jealous. Asad and I haven't spoken a word since the wedding day instead he focused on his 'work' while I worked on not crying.

Asad had a big match coming up tomorrow and he was more worried about that then making sure that I was happy or not. I was happy to see the familiar Canada but I wasn't feeling so good, I had said goodbye to my friends and Javaria and my aunt and uncle didn't bothering coming.

Aabid had came though, to say goodbye to Asad but also he told me to say goodbye to me. It felt good knowing someone still cared about me.

I cried after the wedding but stopped when Asad showed up, if he saw my puffy eyes he didn't comment on them and instead slept on the sofa leaving me by myself.

"Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Qureshi and welcome to Canada! The jet will be landing soon so please be prepared." Our pilot Juan said. Juan was incredibly nice and an amazing person. After Juan stopped talking I felt the little bump of the plane landing and soon it completely stopped.

Asad- who was sitting next to me- got up and walked to the plane's walkway while I got up and started taking out the luggage. "Oh no Rayyana, please don't do that!" Juan said coming to me with some people behind him. I smiled at him and said "Juan, I have hands I can do this myself."

After many complains Juan finally agreed to let me hold one bag, which was my purse and the lightest out of all the luggage. I wasn't happy but Juan said to do it for him and I didn't want to make him unhappy so I pretended to be happy about the fact that he was doing easy work for me.

"Finally." Asad mumbled when he saw me come out of the Jet. "What? Don't tell me you were waiting for me." I said kind of shocked. "Course I wasn't, I was making sure you didn't fall down or anything and besides the press could be anywhere" he finished with a simple shrug. Of course, why would Asad be nice to me willingly?

I rolled my eyes and sat down into the car that was here for us. Juan came from the plane and sat down in the driver's seat, suddenly I had a very good idea. I checked to see where Asad was and he was busy screaming at the poor people who were carrying our luggage.

"Hey Juan, can you do me a favour?" Juan looked at me and sighed knowing whatever my plan was isn't going to be good.

"Juan, where the fuck is Rayyana? We're already late." I smiled and the car suddenly started driving. "JUAN! STOP!" Asad screaming in terror. I couldn't help myself and started laughing. I looked in the mirror at Asad who's face showed recognition "RAYYANA?" He screamed at me.

I laughed evilly, I had convinced Juan to switch clothes with me so that I could drive the car myself. I hadn't gone on a drive in a long time and I missed my car that was back at my aunt's house. I was driving fast because we were already late, I drived until we reached the hotel.

I turned around to face Asad who was breathing heavily "We are here sir." I said in my best Juan voice. After he took a few more breath's he glared at me "Rayyana, WHAT THE FUCK?" I winced "God, calm down will ya? I know how to drive."

I got out of the car and stretched, Juan's clothes were big on me so I looked like a child with my very short Hight (I sound like a pick me girl there) "Why the hell would you do that? and why are you wearing Juan's clothes?" I shrugged "It was a harmless prank, chill."

We heard a honk and Juan stepped out wearing some extra clothes he had, he handed me my clothes back that were in a bag. I quickly changed inside the car (it had tinted windows don't worry) and handed Juan his clothes back.

Juan was getting yelled at "I'm sorry sir.." I was angry at Asad so I stepped in between them "What is your problem Asad? It was a harmless prank." He scoffed and stormed inside the hotel we were staying at.

Suddenly feeling guilty I turned to Juan "I am so sorry Juan, you have my number right? If anything happens tell me and I will straighten Asad out." Juan smiled at me and nodded. I helped with the luggage and me and Juan together walked into the humongous hotel room.

"This is our hotel room?!" I asked in disbelief, I looked around at the huge room. It looked like a apartment! Asad raised an eyebrow at me before smirking "Oh right I forgot, lower class people aren't used to stuff like this."

I glared at him "Yes, but don't forget that us 'lower class' people actually know how to do stuff by ourselves." Asad's smirk fell off his face as I huffed and turned to Juan who was hiding a smile.

"Thank you Juan." I reached into a bag and took out Asad's wallet secretly handing Juan a $40 dollar bill. Juan shook his head but after one look from me thanked me and left.

"I have work to do." Asad said behind me as I looked at the luggage. "Work? Your a cricket player what work could you possibly have?" I turned to him, obviously it was just an excuse to not hang out with me.

"You wouldn't know." He sneered back at me and left. I sighed and took the luggage into a bedroom, I whistled as I looked around at the room but what caught my attention was the bookshelf. I ran to it and saw a lot of Romantic books which were my favorite genre.

I wonder who brought these here.

Then a  balcony caught my eye, I stood outside breathing in the fresh air and looking down at all the people. I saw a lot of couple holding hands or talking having the time of their lives.

And here I was, praying my 'husband' came back home and hung out with me. It hurt honestly, I had these big plans in my head that I couldn't do now. Suddenly, my eyes lit up as I searched for my phone.

I scrolled through my contacts until I finally came over the one person who would hang out with me.

"Hello?" She said tiredly, I looked at my watch and saw that the time was 1 in the afternoon. Of course she was still in bed. "Rumaisa Khan, is that some way to greet someone?" I said sternly.

I heard some rustling and then Rumaisa said "What do you want?" I confusingly raised an eyebrow at her tone "Geez sorry."

"SORRY? HOW MANY YEARS HAS IT BEEN RAYYANA ARSHAD? WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?" Suddenly, I remembered why she was mad at me. When my parents died I cut off everyone from my life and just focused on staying alive. Rumaisa had tried millions of times to contact me but I was in no mood.

Then, I left for Pakistan without telling anyone. "Its.. a long story. Maybe we can meet up?" I missed her like crazy, she was the only person who got me and I knew our friendship was something that would last a lifetime.

I was horrible at keeping friends, I hate phone calls and no one actually texts me back first so I don't text them either. But, Rumaisa is someone I used to text frequently.

"Fine." She mumbled and without a goodbye she hung up. I smiled and went to my suitcase taking out a white shirt, with some black tights, and my denim jacket. I topped it off with a black Hijab.

I wrapped my scarf carefully and fixed my undercap. I put on some white socks, and white shoes and finally grabbed my glasses. I checked out my outfit and smiled as I grabbed my little purse and phone. I looked at my phone wondering if I should call Asad and tell him that I was going.

Then suddenly I remembered that I didn't have his number. I sighed and locked the hotel room going down until I reached the ground floor.

I looked around for a cab until I saw Juan standing there talking to a girl. I walked over to him "Hi Juan." I smiled at him, Juan smiled back and turned to the girl "Rayyana, this is my wife Victoria." I smiled at the beautiful woman shaking her hand.

"Omg your Rayyana? You are very beautiful!" I felt my cheeks heat up "Oh please, not as beautiful as you." She chuckled at that "I was just going into town to meet a friend, sorry for interrupting." Juan turned to me with a frown "Oh? where is Asad?"

"He had some 'business' to take care of." I said trying not to scoff. "That man I swear, do you need a ride?" I shook my head "No thanks. Do you actually have a car I could borrow? I'm in the mood for driving."

Juan nodded and left to grab the car, a few minutes later he came back and I squealed with happiness because Juan had came back with a black convertible which was my dream car.

"OH MY GOD, I LOVE IT!" Juan chuckled and handed me the car keys. "I know, I remember you telling me." I smiled at Juan and wished my own husband was half as nice as he was.

"Thank you Juan, If I could hug you I would." Juan nodded and said goodbye as he and Victoria left in their own car.

I know a convertible isn't much, but ever since I had searched it up I had always wanted it. Of course, my dream was to wear a dress and have my hair flowing behind me but then I remembered I was Muslim, the closest thing I could do was drive while my Hijab whipped around in the wind.

I climbed into the car feeling the stirring wheel under my hands, it was smooth. With one last squeal I started the car and started driving to the town.

I parked the car and looked back at my phone making sure I was in the right place. Me and Rumaisa had decided to meet at a little Café in town that wasn't that popular, which means now a lot of people were there.

I waved at Rumaisa as she stared me down not waving or smiling back. I sat across from her "Assalam-O-Alaikum aunty gee." She scoffed and took off her sunglasses. "Rayyana Arshad, the person I thought was dead." She smugly smirked at me as she leaned back checking me out.

"You've changed." I stared at her challenging her "So have you." We stared at each before suddenly Rumaisa got up her arms wide open. I smiled as we hugged and I heard sniffles.

I was shocked to say the least, Rumaisa Khan never cried in front of people. "I thought you died or something you idiot, I checked your house and saw a lock on it." I bit my lip but a traitor tear left me eye.

"I'm sorry." We pulled apart and ordered some food and drinks as I told her why I had suddenly left.

"What?" She weakly said as her face paled. Rumaisa was incredibly close to my family, she had met my grandparents and everyone and they accepted her as their own granddaughter. I nodded sipping my coffee.

"I'm so sorry." She said, I nodded my head not saying anything. "So, why are you back?" I sighed and pulled out my phone showing her the news. She stared at it and slowly looked up at me.

"You Rayyana Arshad are married to a famous cricket player?" She said slowly as if she was testing it. I nodded again, suddenly she started howling "OMG I can't believe this! I'm talking to a famous person!"

I shushed her looking around "It's not so easy as you think, It was hard keeping the news from the press. They still think me and Asad are in Pakistan." Rumaisa and I talked about our lives and she told me how she was married and was expecting. That's when I noticed the little bump in her stomach.

"I'm about to be an aunty?!" I yelled out, she smiled and we hugged again, I wanted to jump but Rumaisa didn't want too.

"It's only been a few weeks though, it's killing me not knowing if it's a boy or girl." We both agreed that whatever it is we would both love it to death.

Time slipped as we talked about our lives now and our lives back then, we laughed and we cried and for the first time I felt this breeze in me that I felt when I was happy.

I hadn't felt this feeling in a long time and it felt refreshing. Rumaisa's phone started ringing and she answered it after announcing it was her husband.

I watched as she smiled and blushed as she talked to him and it made me stare at her for a long time. I had never seen her this happy with anyone else besides me, It made me feel a little jealous knowing I could never feel that.

She hung up and told me it was her husband asking when she was coming back home "He said he missed me." She shyly said, I smirked and teased her as she told me to shut up.

That's when my own phone rang. I looked at the caller ID to see it was an unknown number. I answered it thinking it was Juan or something.

"Where the hell are you?"

Uh Oh.
