Love for a Princess Pup
This is my first Paw Patrol fanfic. I want to still get to know the show better before I even think about doing a full story, so here's a short one-shot between Chase and Sweetie.
"Princess, please!"
"No is no, Sweetie. And that's final!"
The Princess was holding a squirming terrier in her arms as they walked outside the castle. The terrier was desperately trying to get out of her grasp.
"Princess, I'll do anything! Just let me go to the party."
"Not a chance Sweetie. I'm not taking any more chances with you."
"I won't take the crown again. I promise." Sweetie pleaded.
"You said that last time, and look what happened."
The Princess arrived at Sweetie's doghouse, which had a golden fence around it. Sweetie made a last-ditch effort to escape, but she accidentally kicked the princess. It wasn't a hard kick, it was very light. But the Princess was furious. So furious that she threw Sweetie over the fence and into her dog house. Sweetie yelped out in pain as she landed hard on the ground. She even dropped her toy frog, Busby, who rolled through a small gap in the fence. Sweetie went up to the fence and tried to reach for him, but was unable to do so.
"You're in so much trouble, Sweetie." The Princess grabbed Sweetie's collar tightly, making Sweetie choke. "No tiara," She ripped off her tiara, "No tag," She ripped off the crown tag on her collar. "And most importantly," The Princess kneeled and grabbed Busby. "No Busby!"
"No! Not Busby!" Sweetie choked out. The Princess let her go. Sweetie gasped for air and moved away. But she yelped when she put down her front right leg. It had broken when the Princess threw her. "You can take the other stuff, but please don't take Busby!"
"Not a chance. He's going straight into the bin!" The Princess told her. "And for kicking me, you'll stay in there for a whole month!"
"But-"
"Should I make it two?"
Sweetie stayed silent.
"I thought so."
Without another word, the Princess left. Leaving Sweetie all alone.
"But... I can change..." Sweetie said silently, knowing that no one would hear her. She was all alone. No Princess, no Busby, no Chase... It was just her.
"Maybe... I deserve this punishment. I went too far stealing the crown." Sweetie limped into her dog house and curled herself up. "I don't deserve the crown, the Princess, Busby, this home, Chase..." Sweetie cried to herself. She looked at the wall of her doghouse. Inside was a dress she was going to wear. But it looks like she wouldn't need it anymore. "I... I don't deserve to be loved."
Several hours have passed. The party had begun and guests were arriving. Among them was the Paw Patrol. All of them were dressed up fancy. And they all had presents they were going to give.
Chase was looking around. There were lots of people there, but he couldn't see the person he wanted. Chase never told anyone to who he was giving his gift, as he feared their reaction. He had a gift for Sweetie. While everyone else didn't believe that Sweetie will ever be good, Chase still believed she could change. Despite their fights and arguments, he had a soft spot for the Royal Pup.
After nearly an hour of looking, Chase decided to ask the Princess herself where Sweetie is. It took a bit of time to find her as well, but Chase was able to locate the Princess.
"Um, Princess?" Chase spoke up.
The Princess turned to Chase with a bright smile. "Oh, Chase! How's my favorite pup?!"
'Favorite?' Chase thought confused. 'Shouldn't it be Sweetie?' Chase put that thought aside for now. "Do you know where Sweetie is?"
"Oh, don't worry about her, Chase. She's already locked up in her doghouse." The Princess told him.
Chase was a bit surprised about the news. "Why? Did she try to steal the crown again?"
"No." She spoke. "But I'm no longer taking any chances on her."
"I see... Well, thanks." Chase quickly walked away from the Princess. 'Locking her up for no reason? That's strange.' At least Chase knew where she is now. He walked out of the castle and to her doghouse. But he didn't see her. "Sweetie? Are you there?"
Sweetie ear's twitched. She heard her name being called. Slowly, she got up and limped her way out. She was very surprised to see Chase outside the fence.
"Chase?"
"Are you ok? You're limping, and you look like you've been crying." Chase said with concern.
"Y-Yeah, I-I'm fine." Sweetie lied. But she quickly gave in. "No. It hurts..."
Using his athleticism, Chase leaped over the fence and to the other side. It surprised Sweetie a bit, but this was Chase. If anyone could do it, it was him.
"Sweetie, what happened to you?" Chase asked her.
Sweetie looked away from Chase and began to cry. "The Princess. She... she hates me!" Sweetie began bawling her eyes out. "She threw me in here and broke my paw. She took my tiara, my pup-tag, and-" Sweetie choked. "She... she took Busby away!"
Chase was stunned at what he was told. The Princess had hurt Sweetie, not only emotionally, but physically too. "But... why did she put you in here?"
"S-She doesn't trust me. She thinks I'm gonna steal the crown again. But I wasn't. She said I'm going to be locked up in here for a month."
"A month!" Chase exclaimed. Sweetie nodded. "That's not right. I mean, I know you've done some bad things before. But you already served your punishment for those. But punishing you for no reason? That's not right."
"But I deserve it." Sweetie said. "I tried stealing the crown way too many times. I deserve to be like this."
"No, you don't Sweetie. You should be in the castle partying with everyone else." Chase told her.
"Chase..." Sweetie stared into his eyes. She was mesmerized by them. The same could be said for Chase. He just couldn't look away from her. "Why?"
"Why what?" Chase wondered.
"Why did you come to me? Don't you hate me? After everything, I did to you..." Sweetie trailed off. She looked away in shame.
"Why would I hate you?" Chase asked her. "I don't have a reason to hate you, Sweetie. And I probably never will."
"But why?" Sweetie said. "Why would you not hate me? Why would you even come here and see me?" Sweetie started to cry. She felt stupid. Why would she think she would have a chance with Chase? She kidnapped him, framed him, and hurt his friends and family. But yet he still says he doesn't hate her. She didn't know why. Why would Chase not hate her?
"I don't think you wanted the crown." Chase spoke up. Sweetie looked at him with curiosity. "I think you wanted attention. Someone to notice you. Someone to love you." Sweetie looked at him with shock. "I'm right, aren't I?"
"Y-Yes." Sweetie admitted. It was true. She never wanted the crown. She just wanted to be noticed by others. And stealing the crown and acting like she wanted to rule the kingdom did just the job. Chase smiled at Sweetie. He then set a present down between them.
"I knew from day one you weren't evil. You didn't look like the type of person that would try to get power. You just wanted love. Something the Princess never gave enough of." Chase pushed the present towards her. "This is for you."
"F-For me?" Sweetie said. She was blushing red. No one ever gave her a gift.
"Go on, open it." Chase urged.
Slowly, Sweetie began opening her gift. What she saw shocked her. It was a crown, one that looked like the one in the castle. But it was purple and pink. Colors that matched her.
"C-Chase. You..." Sweetie was a loss for words.
"I feel like having your special crown would be way better for you. Besides, these colors look way better on you-"
Before he could finish his sentence, Sweetie leaped up to him and planted her lips on his. Chase was surprised at first, but he melted into the kiss. They didn't care if anyone saw them, they were in love, and that's all that mattered to them. They eventually separated to catch their breath.
"Thank you..." Sweetie said as she hugged him. They stared into each other's eyes again. "You know, a princess needs her prince. Will you..."
Chase chuckled. "I'll be your prince if you be my princess."
They kissed again, this time with more love and passion.
"Chase?"
"Yeah?"
"Let's continue this in my doghouse."
And that's it. Thank you for reading my first Paw Patrol fanfic. I recently got into the series and I'm liking it a lot. Including all the great fanfics I've been reading. What do you think of the Chase x Sweetie shipping? I always liked the hero and villain ending up together trope. And this fits perfectly with me.
Smile :)
