CHAPTER 7

IT WAS past lunch when Lisa opened her eyes, waking up. She slowly sat up from her bed and rubbed her half-asleep face.

"What a nap." She sarcastically uttered and finally went to the kitchen to find herself something to eat.

"Good afternoon, Boss!" Bobby immediately greeted Lisa as soon as he saw her walking down the stairs.

Lisa nodded in response and gave herself a glass of water.

"You look sleepy. Did you sleep late last night, Boss?" Bobby asked her, almost making her spit the water she had been gulping. But she chocked on it instead.

She coughed, "I did not!"

Bobby chuckled, "Yeah... you didn't."

"Shut up." She glared at the later and left the kitchen after grabbing herself some toasts.

But as soon as she was about to go to her room, she nearly dropped her toast and her glass of water when she saw Jungkook walking down the stairs, topless, rubbing his eyes, and his bed head adding spice to the view.

Lisa turned her back and immediately ran towards her backyard to play with her dogs.

"That was fucking close." Lisa held her chest as she sat down on the nearest outdoor table.

She took a bite on her toasted bread, "But those abs were... hmmm."

She couldn't spit her words right when she started chewing her bread, staring straight wherever her eyes can reach.

She suddenly shook her head, "Get it together, Lalisa! He's Eli's lover, for fuck's sake! Don't think about something like that early in the morning!" She told herself.

But sudden realization hit her, "Oh wait, it's already noon..."

"Did you sleep well?"

She almost fell off her seat when she heard a familiar voice behind her.

"Y-Yeah!" She gave him a forced smile.

Jungkook walked towards the dogs and took the ball from one of the maids and played with Lisa's dogs.

Lisa took a bite of her toast while her eyes were glued on the topless Jeon Jungkook, playing with her dogs as if he was this ideal young bachelor in a romance novel.

His abs, triceps, and his V line full in view. His pajamas stopped her from takong her thoughts to oblivion. Giving a pittle justice for Jungkook's defenseless state.

"Yummy." She took another bite of her toast.

Lisa stood up, "What the fuck, Lalisa? That's Eli's man. Jeon Jungkook is Eli's man."

She took her glass and immediately ran back inside before she devours another meal.

She noticed Jennie walking in the garden with a stroller and she immediately jogged towards them.

"Hey." She greeted Jennie.

The mother turned around and saw Lisa. She smiled back, "You look like you're in a good mood. Did something interesting happened?"

Lisa shrugged her shoulders, "Maybe."

"You mysterious woman." Jennie shook her head amusingly.

The beauty just giggled and crouched down to face the cutest being inside the stroller.

"Hello there, sunshine!" She tilted her head at the dumb founded Chloe, Jennie and Taehyung's 3 months old baby.

Lisa stretched out her hand and picked Chloe up in her arms, "Oh look at you. This ugly world doesn't deserve such perfection."

Jennie tilted her head, "I just noticed, you seem quite fond of kids."

"Was I too obvious?" Lisa let out a giggle.

Jennie nodded.

She sighed and looked down at the angel in her arms, "I just want to make sure Chloe receives every good thing in the world."

Jennie immediately recalled Lisa and Eli's childhood.

"I-I'm so sorry about your past. You and Eli didn't have to go through such cruelty." Jennie held Lisa's shoulder.

Lisa shook her head, "If someone must apologize, it's me. I failed to protect Eli and... her baby. Jungkook's baby. My niece, nephew..."

"It wasn't your fault." Jennie shook her head.

Speaking of the devil, Jungkook entered the kitchen to drink a glass of water when he saw Lisa rocking Chloe in her arms.

The guy couldn't help but stare.

"You're gonna burn a whole on her face with that stare."

He almost dropped the glass when Kim Taehyung appeared beside him.

Jungkook rolled his eyes, "Don't fucking show up like that again."

"But I called your name two times. Though, your senses were probably focusing elsewhere." Taehyung muttered and trailed gazes on Lisa.

"I-I was just looking at Chloe." Jungkook stuttered.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow at him, "If that's true, I'm calling the cops on you."

"You crazy bastard. I've never looked at a child for such disgusting intentions." He immediately defended himself.

"Surely any father would call you a pedophile if you stare at their child like that." Taehyung shrugged his shoulders.

Jungkook went silent for a second and then looked away.

"So what were you thinking when you were looking at Lisa?" Taehyung asked.

"I said I wasn't looking at Lisa!" Jungkook spat.

Taehyung squinted his eyes, "You weren't looking at Chloe. You weren't looking at Lisa... Don't tell me you're looking at my wife?!"

Jungkook sighed and facepalmed himself, "What an idiot."

"You're the idiot here. Constantly denying that you aren't infatuated with Lisa." Taehyung said, making the bunny guy's eyes widen.

"Infatuated? Dude, that's Eli's sister. If I were married to Eli, she's more like my sister-in-law." Jungkook gave Taehyung a confused look.

"But you aren't married. And Eli's resting in a better place now. You're not committed nor tied to anyone, Jungkook." Taehyung said.

Jungkook scoffed, "Easy for you to say."

"What's... stopping you?" Taehyung asked, obviously diving deeper into the conversation.

"Do you even have to ask? I know you already know the answer." Jungkook said, taking another sip on his glass.

Taehyung tilted his head, "Answer? Which one? Is it because she's Eli's sister? Is it because she looks like Eli? Is it because you think you're cheating on Eli? Is it because you're still angry at Lisa?—"

Jungkook shook his head, "Don't be ridiculous-"

Taehyung cut him off, "Or is it because you just never want to move on from Eli? Which answer are you talking about?"

Jungkook froze on his spot and quietly puts the glass on the kitchen counter. He lowered his head and Eli's face immediately flashed through his thoughts.

"Move on... Do I really have to? It's not like all my memories of Eli were bad. Most of them were actually the best moments of my life. And you want me to move on?" Jungkook faced Taehyung with his eyes on the verge of crying.

Taehyung sighed, "Nobody said you have to forget those memories, Jungkook. Nobody is taking those best moments from you or Eli. But if you keep those from chances of creating new great memories with others, Eli won't be happy."

"I'm not keeping those for—"

"Tae, can you hold Chloe for a bit?" Jennie suddenly appeared, handing the baby to the father.

Jennie headed to the kitchen to cook while Lisa was still in the garden, busy talking to someone on the phone.

Jungkook and Taehyung looked at each other before the younger decided to go back to his room.

"What happened to him? He looks upset." Lisa finally appeared, putting her phone on the back pocket of her jeans.

Taehyung sighed, "You should talk to him."

"Me? Why me?" She gave him a confused look.

"I just think so." Taehyung shrugged his shoulders.

Lisa bit her lips and fidgeted her fingers. She's contemplating whether to follow what Taehyung said or just leave Jungkook alone for now.

"Hey, Lili?" Jennie called her out from the kitchen, interrupting her thoughts.

"Uh, yeah?" Lisa responded.

"Can you go call Jungkook? I'm almost done cooking the eggs." Jennie said, making Lisa internally face palm herself.

She gathered her feet up the stairs and went straight to Jungkook's doorstep.

She stood by his door, slowly walking back and forth as she bit her nails.

She kept thinking about what happened last night. How Jungkook and her comforted each other, sharing their warmth to one another, and reaching the level of intimicy that shouldn't be crossed.

Which both of them are eventually regretting.

Lisa took deep breaths before finally deciding to knock on his door. Her knuckles hit the mahogany door three times, echoing in the narrow hallway of her mansion.

"Who is it?" Jungkook's voice sounded hoarse.

Lisa gulped, "Lisa."

A few seconds of silence before the door finally opened, only to get welcomed by Jeon Jungkook in his white bathrobe.

"O-Oh sorry. Were you going to take a bath?" Lisa stuttered.

"Was about to. But I guess you're here for more important matters." He said and opened the door wider for Lisa to enter.

But she shook her head, "I was only ordered to call you for breakfast."

"You could've just told me by the door. Surely, there's a different topic you wanted to talk to me about." Jungkook said, seating on the bed and waiting for Lisa to come in.

Lisa started scratching her neck and looking around, trying to process topics inside her head.

"About the plan we talked about last time..." Lisa took small steps and leaned on Jungkook's tall cabinet.

Jungkook lowered his head, "Right... I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean to-"

"No, no. I wasn't talking about that and you already apologized last night so..." Lisa became quiet and realized what she just said.

Reminding and talking to Jungkook about last night was the highest concern she has and she actually went and did it.

Jungkook cleared his throat, "S-So what about that plan?"

"Right. I decided to go with your plan." Lisa said, making Jungkook freeze.

"Didn't you say it was dangerous? And a lot riskier." Jungkook furrowed his brows.

"Nothing is really guaranteed in like so I decided to gamble mine. And your plan is pretty easier to prepare for." Lisa answered.

"Prepare? If it's the material, probably. But are you really prepared to die?" Jungkook asked in a slight sarcastic manner.

Lisa shrugged her shoulders, "It's not like I have something to lose. All my family's dead. My husband's dead. Atleast not for you. You have your hyungs and Jennie."

"It doesn't sound right. This is a plan. Don't do suicide shit." Jungkook shook his head.

"I'm fully aware of that. I'm just stating the possibilities. And I'm not gonna easily die out there. What do you take me for?" Lisa raised an eyebrow at him.

Jungkook snorted, "If you weren't Eli's twin, I probably would've mistaken you for a completely different person."

"I actually am. It's only the appearance." Lisa said, shrugging her shoulders.

The two looked out the window, just feeling the breeze and the beautiful waves of the white curtain opening up for a full view of the lake.

"Hey Lisa..." Jungkook suddenly called out.

Lisa responded with a hum.

"I don't feel comfortable here. So I'll just move out tomorrow."
