CHAPTER 2

IT WASN'T actually a fine dinner after the argument between Jungkook and Lisa. Especially when the owner of the house is not eating with them.

Lisa cuddled herself in her own bed, staring at her ceiling.

"Eli... This isn't what I wanted." She muttered to herself.

On the other hand, Taehyung, Jennie and Jungkook ate their dinner in an awkward silence.

Jennie let go of her spoon and leaned back on her chair, "I should call Lisa."

"Let her be." Jungkook muttered, munching his food.

"You did something didn't you?" Jennie squinted her eyes on him.

Jungkook scoffed, "She did that to herself."

Taehyung sighed, "Guys. Let's just finish our food and talk after."

"She rescued us, Jungkook. Don't forget that." Jennie rolled her eyes.

"Yeah right. She rescued us from her own mess." Jungkook muttered.

Jennie was about to talk back when Taehyung held her hand and stopped her. He shook his head at Jennie and motioned her to continue eating.

The dinner is finished. And just as Jungkook was about to leave, Jennie spoke.

"Apologize to her." Jennie spat.

"For what?" Jungkook raised an eyebrow.

It has been a long time since they saw Jungkook like this. Back when his brother, Namjoon died. And now, after Eli died.

Nothing gets worse except for him being a brat. The cycle goes on for years but Taehyung and their friends was able to put up with him.

Because they didn't want him to feel alone.

"Apologize for whatever you did." Jennie banged the table.

"I told you, I didn't do anything. She brought that upon herself." Jungkook stood up and went back to his room.

On his way, the quiet hallway of mansion enabled him to hear footsteps inside a room just across his.

He walked towards the open door, only to find Lisa talking to someone over the phone.

"I told you, I'm paying double the amount you're receiving." Lisa face palmed herself.

"Just do it! Find a way! You're professional aren't you?" She held the temple of her head.

Jungkook didn't mean to eavesdrop but his feet stayed rooted on the floor.

"Fine. Do whatever you can." She slumped down on her bed and tossed her phone in the corner.

She started face palming herself, trying to regain her energy.

Jungkook on the other hand finally left her and went to his own room.

He had so many questions.

"What is her real job anyway?"

Jennie and Taehyung went back to their own room after dinner to feed their own baby.

Jennie was breastfeeding her daughter while Taehyung is on his laptop, doing his job.

Jennie sighed, "Should I go talk to her?" She asked him.

Taehyung tilted his head and gazed at the two most important female in his life.

"It's their fight. Let them be." Taehyung said.

Jennie put her daughter back in the crib right after it started producing soft cute snores.

"Then I should bring her food. She didn't eat." Jennie smiled and left the room.

Taehyung face palmed himself. He knew there's no way to stop his wife. Jennie just loves making everything balanced. Maybe it's a mother thing.

Jennie went downstairs and prepared Lisa's dinner herself even when the maids insisted.

She took the tray of food up to Lisa's room. She knocked on the door.

"Come in." Her familiar voice resonated in her ears.

Oh Eli.

But as soon as she opened the door, she immediately realized it was Lisa. The small fantasy faded.

Jennie managed to give her a smile, "I brought you dinner."

She placed the tray on the table near her fireplace.

"Thank you. You didn't have to." Lisa acknoledged.

They sat across together in front of the fireplace with a mesmerizing nightview from her glass wall. The white curtains elegantly sways with the air from the open veranda.

"You have a lovely home." Jennie started.

Lisa picked the coffee and sipped, "I barely come home here."

"Because you're working far?" Jennie curiously asked.

Lisa nodded, "Kind of. I hardly stay for a month in one place."

Jennie nodded and looked around. Her room really does look like it's never been used. It's all clean and organized like a hotel. But you can immediately tell that this is the master's bedroom compared to the room size from theirs and the amount of expensive furnitures.

But something caught her attention.

"Is that... your husband?" Jennie asked as soon as she saw a small portrait of a man and beside him was Lisa in a wedding dress.

Lisa looked behind her to take a quick glance at the picture, "Yes, he is." A glint of a smile showed on her lips.

Jennie chuckled, "I didn't know you were married."

Lisa gave her a tight lip smile, "I was."

Jennie's smile immediately vanished and was replaced by multiple cursing for herself.

She shut her eyes close, "I-I'm so sorry."

"It's okay! You didn't know. It was also my fault for not telling." Lisa smiled.

Wow. She's also kind like Eli., Jennie thought.

The awkward silence grew stronger after the husband topic. Jennie pursed her lips, trying to face Lisa and look at her but she couldn't.

"I should go. I still have to put Chloe to sleep." She lied.

Lisa nodded, "Yeah, she needs her mommy for that."

"You should sleep too. Don't let Jungkook bother you. He's always like that when this happens." Jennie stood up.

"I totally understand." Lisa smiled at her.

"Goodnight." Jennie smiled back.

"Goodnight, Jennie." And she closed her door.

Lisa leaned on her mahogany door and took a deep breath. She fought the thoughts of all the problems between Jungkook and her.

She slumped on her bed and cuddled her pillow, hoping she'll see her twin sister in her dreams.

THE NEXT DAY came as the three guests casually watches the maids walking three bloodhounds in the largest yard they've ever seen.

The three stood by the veranda, allowing them to have a better view of the thousand hectare yard.

Taehyung took a sip of his black coffee in his white robe, "Are those dogs or are they werewolves?"

Jennie snorted, "Are you dumb or an idiot?"

"Well, that's a good question to start a good morning." Jungkook crossed his arms over his chest in his blue robe.

"Don't assume I forgot about your attitude last night, Jungkook." Jennie spat back.

Jungkook rolled his eyes, "Are you my mom now, Jen?"

"Of course not. And address me as noona, kid." Jennie shot him a glare.

Jungkook gave Taehyung a glance, hoping the older will help him out. But Taehyung is busy sipping his black coffee dramatically, taking the time of his life.

"Put yourself in my shoes, noona." Jungkook spat back.

Jennie rolled her eyes, "I've been in your shoes many times, Jeon Jungkook. I've been in most people's shoes."

"You talk like you're fifty years older than me with lots of experience." Jungkook chuckled.

"Because I am, except I'm one year older." Jennie retorted.

Jungkook shrugged his shoulders, "Whatever you say."

"Come on, Jungkook. Just think of her as Eli. She's quite nice like her too! There's not much of a difference." Jennie sighed.

"Except she got loads of tattoos." Jungkook continued.

"And shorter hair." Taehyung added.

"She's also taller." Jungkook tilted his head.

Taehyung nodded, "And more athletic."

"She talks a lot too." Added Jungkook.

"And a lot richer." Taehyung took a sip of his coffee.

"Her smile is totally different from Eli."

"Which makes her more intimidating." Taehyung added.

Jennie let out a disbelief sigh, "Kim Taehyung, you're really dumb aren't you?"

"What now?" Taehyung raised his eyebrow at her.

Jennie rolled her eyes, "Fine, she's different. But that doesn't change the fact that she saved all our asses."

"She could've saved our asses and Eli shouldn't have died if it wasn't for her selfishness." Jungkook spat.

"Don't talk like you know her, Jungkook. She probably had her reasons. And you're breathing well right now because of her." Jennie glared at him.

Jungkook scoffed, "And you're one to talk, noona. Why do you keep defending her when she can't even explain us everything?"

"I told you, she probably had her own reasons." Jennie answered.

"If she couldn't bring herself to tell us, I'll find out myself."
