CHAPTER 1
Jungkook
Fuck fuck fuck...
I need to get out of here, fast. I can hear the sirens of the police vehicles catching up behind me. I smeared on my motorcrycle, not caring if I get into an accident now.
I'm gonna escape or just die anyways so what's the point of the fucking Godspeed.
I was clenching my jaw, not entirely focused on my driving even though it's on 120mph. Most likely, that's gonna send my bigbike flying soon.
The sirens behind me slowly getting weaker and weaker. They couldn't catch up to my speed. I looked behind me to make sure I wasn't followed and I was right. I can see the blue and red lights of the police cars from a mile away and I smirked in victory.
When I turned my attention back to the road, "FUCK!"
I cussed loudly as I bumped into someone! The person rolled over the road as I had my eyes widened.
It was a girl. Her clothes were torn. She looked dirty. Is she a beggar? And what is she doing in the middle of the road?
My eyes widened when the woman suddenly flinched, facing me as she stretched out her hands.
"H-Help..." She muttered as she struggled to stand up.
Her messed up hair is covering her whole face. I just stared at her, contemplating whether to help her or not.
"Pl... ease." She begged, a tear fell from her right eye.
I bit my lips, and was about to ditch her when I heard the sirens getting nearer and nearer by the second.
I looked down at the woman one last time...
"Fuck this." I cursed and decided to carry the woman, letting her ride with me.
After I made sure she was settled behind me, I almost sent my motorcycle flying since the police vehicle is just behind us.
Why did my life turned out like this?
3 am...
I carried the woman bridal style as she was asleep in my arms. We arrived at my house, which was literally in the middle of a forest. It was the best place to hide.
I settled her on my bed and wrapped her in a blanket.
I never intend to keep her. I'm just doing a one time favor to her and she's gonna leave my house once she's fully recovered. I don't need a burden in my life.
I took the medical kit and tried to treat her bruises and scratches that she got from when I accidentally crashed into her.
After doing the damages on her small petite body, my eyes turned to her face.
Her hair is covering half of it. So in order to check other damages, I slowly brushed her hair away from her face.
"..."
I noticed I was staring too long so I cleared my throat to get myself together.
How can an angel be lingering in the middle of the streets at night?
I mean, yeah. I won't deny that she got the looks of a goddess. She's almost looking like a doll despite the bruises and dirt in her face.
I stood up as I'm not used to feeling like this. I left the room and decided to just go and cook myself something to eat.
Get your acts together, Jeon Jungkook.
I was busy cooking in the kitchen when I heard the bedroom door opening. I looked behind me and saw her standing there. Staring at me.
"Finally, you're awake." I said to her.
She didn't reply and just watched me stir the pot in the stove. She gulped.
I smirked, "You hungry?" She looked at me again with a blank expression.
"Are you mute?" I asked her.
She didn't respond. Instead, she walked towards me and stared at what I was cooking. She looked behind me where the kitchen counter is.
She suddenly took the knife from the counter, making me take a safe distance from her.
"Holy shit... P-Put that down." I glared at her.
She didn't hear me as she just stared at the knife she was holding.
But even though she got a knife, I can easily take her down. My right hand slowly rummage behind my jeans where my gun is hidden.
"H-Hey..." I called her. She slowly faced me with her blank face.
"Put the knife down." I eyed her.
She just stared at me, looking up and down at my appearance. Then she turned her attention back to the knife again.
"I said—"
I was cut off when she suddenly placed the knife on her wrist and slit herself through. My eyes widened at her. The knife fell on the floor as she gripped her wrist to put pressure on it.
Her blood dripped down from the tiled floor like a broken faucet.
I immediately took the tissue and covered her wrist with it to stop the extreme bleeding.
I don't even know why I'm saving her.
"Get away from me!" She shouted, trying to escape my grip. Her high pitched voice echoed in my ears.
"Stay still!" I glared at her.
"Let go of me! Just let me die!" She shouted again.
"You were asking for help when I bumped into you! And now you want to die?!" I yelled back at her.
"You're just like him!" She spat back.
"Stay still! You're losing a lot of blood already!" I eyed her.
"You're just like him. You kill people. You make others suffer." She yelled.
"What are you saying?!" My brows furrowed at her.
"You're gonna kill me, right? With those guns, handcuffs, those weapons inside your room. If that's what you're gonna do, I'm just gonna do the favor for you." She gritted her teeth as she said those words.
She's probably talking about my weapons inside my cabinet. If she saw my weapons, she could've just took them and killed me with it if she thinks I'm gonna kill her.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I saved you, that's all I know." I said to her as I grab another tissue and covered her wound with it.
Luckily, the cut wasn't deep or it will cost her death. And as for me, a burden. I'm gonna have to dig up a grave and put her body inside which will probably require a lot of effort.
"Why? Why did you save me?" She asked, her eyes on the verge of crying.
"Because you asked for it." I simply answered.
She chuckled in disbelief, "People like you don't give help to people like me."
I got my tongue frozen at her sentence. She's right. Why did I even helped her? I could've chosen to leave her there and drove off. But I didn't.
"Tell me... Why did you help me?" She asked again.
I just clenched my jaw, not knowing what to answer. I grabbed another tissue to cover her dripping wound.
"Speak! Tell me!" She yelled again.
I let go of her wrist and slowly met her eyes that are wet with tears and looked so tired.
I looked down at her lips where there's a slight cut and small blood is coming out from it. I didn't notice that when I stared at her face a while ago.
"You're bleeding." I muttered and was about to wipe the blood off of her lips when she tilted her head to the side to avoid my hands.
"Stop pretending like you care. I'm done believing shit. If you're just gonna hurt me in the end, atleast let me kill myself now." She looked up to me with pleading eyes.
I heaved a deep sigh as I shut my eyes close in frustration.
"I'm not gonna hurt you." I answered.
"Yes, you are. You're no different from him." She glared at me.
Who the hell is she talking about?
"I saved you. Isn't that enough reason for you to stop hurting yourself?" I eyed her.
"Why did you save me? Now, tell me." She demanded.
I took a step forward and leaned closer on her right ear to whisper.
"Because..."
"Because what?!" She yelled.
"Because... I was like you before."
