Chapter 5

"Bye, Dad." I say as he leaves.

"Bye, Daddy!" Aubrey yells a little louder than necessary.

He bids us goodbye and he leaves the house for a business meeting that will most likely take all day.

"What do you want to do today, Aubrey?" I ask her sweetly, and she starts giggling.

"Silly Charlie! I have swim lessons today!" She exclaims as she runs up to Ber bedroom giggling.

We play together in her bedroom for a couple hours. At one o'clock, we go downstairs and eat ravioli for lunch.

After lunch, she gets her bag, and we wait for our ride to her swim lesson. Dad had said that one of Aubrey's friends from school also goes to the same swim group as her, so the kid's parents are supposed to take us there and back.

"Charlie, Aiden is here. Let's go!" Aubrey yells to me, and I grab my phone, house key, and my favorite book Paper Towns.

"I'm coming!" I yell as I run down the staircase. "Wait for me," I say as she's running out the door and she stops like a deer caught in the headlights.

When I catch up to her, she falls into step beside me and we continue walking to the minvan together.

A nice looking lady rolls down the driver's side  window and sticks her head out slightly. "Hi, you must be Charlie." I nod. "I'm Aiden's mom, but you can call me Jolie." She says politely and she presses a bottom that opens the side door for us. Aubrey hops right in, but I freeze in my tracks as I take in who I see staring back at me with wide eyes.

"Hop on in, Charlie. We need to get going now." She says, then she looks back at us. "Oh! Trystan, introduce yourself dear." She commands him.

"I already know him," I mumble and climb into the back seat of the van.

Aside from Trystan and Aiden, there is also another little boy, that looks about eight years old, and three baby girls, that can't be any older than six months. They're sleeping in their car seats. I had never known that Trystan had any sibilings. I guess you really do learn something new everyday.

When we get out of the van, the eight year old who's name I learned is Levi, along with Aubrey and Aiden ran ahead into the building. Trystan grabs two of the infant carriers while Jolie grabs the other one.

"Charlie, would you mind grabbing the stroller out of the trunk for me?" she asks. I go around to the back of the van.

"Do you need help?" Trystan calls from the other side of the van.

"Nope, I think I can find it." I call back.

Within another minute, I have found the triple seated stroller, which I didn't even know was a thing. It's actually not that hard to open and set up. I just flip it, unfold it, and then it clicked, signalling that it was all in place.

I walk it over to the other side of the van and Trystan and Jolie place the babies car seats in it.

Jolie grabs the handle bars and pushed the stroller into the building.

Once we get into some type of lounge room, I pull out my book and start to read it. When I got about halfway through the second chapter, the babies start wailing. Trystan and Jolie each pick up one of the babies. "Charlie, would you mind picking up the other baby for me?" Jolie asks, while bouncing one of them on her leg.

"Sure," I politely reply. I set aside my book and make my way over to the crying baby. "Come here, sweetie. It's okay, baby," I whisper soothingly as I unbuckle her and take her out of the seat. I look up and see that Jolie and Trystan have gotten the other two babies to calm down. I start bouncing her while pacing back and forth across the lounge.

After we got the babies settled down, we have them bottles of their formula, then we sat on the floor to play with them.

Trystan is actually really good with the babies. It's adorable seeing them crawl to him and how easily he can make them laugh. He could be a great father one day.
