By the time I manage to calm myself down, the kids are all in bed, aside from Saydie, Teagan, and Aubrey who are sleeping on the other couches.

I'm walking up the stairs when I feel a hand on my shoulder and I whip my head around to see who it is. "Listen, I'm really sorry." He says, "I didn't mean to upset you." His voice is full of regret and sadness.

"Trystan, don't worry about it. It was really nothing." I say, trying to sound convincing.

"No," he says "Charlie, if something upset you so bad that you were crying for nearly three hours, then it does mean something." He takes a break, but when he realizes I'm not responding, he goes on. "Look, I don't even know what I did to upset you, but you can trust me when I say I didn't mean to make you cry. If you need someone to talk to, I'm right here. I want to help you." The only thing I can think right now is: wow! My dad made a good decision adding Trystan to the list.

I simply nod, telling him I understand and flash him a sincere smile before making my way back to the couch to sleep.
