10.graduation day

The old popping johnny ^^^

May 20, 2017

I stand on the front porch of my father's house. The early gray light of morning is just breaking over the tree line. I am watching over the loading up of my father's last pet project. The 1942 John deer tractor. From my vantage point I can easily see the wide smile on the young man's face as he drives the old 'popping johnny' up on the flatbed trailer.

It's been six week since Griffin and I split up. The final paperwork will be signed today. I will become a free woman again. My thoughts again trun to John. I have not seen him the entire time . I don't know where he is, and I find it strange that he is not around. I have thought of him offen over the last six weeks. Even though I am worried about him I have other things to think of today.

The first hurdle of my day is getting the popping john out to the sale. I can't help but to think of my father  and if he would be sad to see the old Johnny  go. Now the barn is completely empty I feel my father's loss more than ever today.

Over the last few weeks Carl Edwards has sold every car, bike and atv in the barn. He also was able to sale my dad's large collection of old shop and gas station signs. This has amounted into quite a amazing some of money. Carl has assured me that the tractor will bring in at least three times more.

Luckily my realtor was able to find a buyer for dad's shop two weeks ago. I am so happy Steven Wright, my old friend, has it now. I know he will do a good job of running it. He has become an expert mechanic, his years of working for the Mayor Hobbs has earned him quite a following. He and Amanda are still happily married and have two beautiful children.

Today Joan, my realtor, is showing the house to the Coopers again. A young couple that is just starting out in their marriage. They fell in love with the house first time they saw the place. Today will be the first visit that they get to see the inside of the barn. I have the house looking as perfect as I can. I am sure that they make their final bid on the house today.

Before any of that happens my baby will graduate from high school. He has spent the last week at Katie's place with me. His last few weeks of school he has spent his time staying with his friends saying his goodbyes. He will go to boot camp soon and wanted the time to say a proper good bye to them.

I moved out of dad's house four weeks ago. Life in Altanta is alot different than here in the country. It took some adjustments on my part in the beginning, but I had alot of help. A big part of every day, I spent with Sandy. She has kept me very busy with looking into propertys for the club, and training to be a Domina.

Sandy and I have narrow the club site down to two different places. She will settle on one this weekand. She plans to go to the contractor to propose our ideas for the club this week. Lackart construction is one of the best in Altanta. I am sure they will do the best job. Sandy had a meeting with Owen Lackart, owner and CEO, this week as well.

"We'll that's it Charlie. We are all ready to go. I will give you a call as soon as the sale is final." Carl distracts me. "Sorry for the early pick up, but if we want to make it to Orlando in time for the sale, we needed to get moving."

"It's not a problem, I have a day full of things I needed to get up for." I tell him as I make my way down the steps of the front porch.

"That's right your son Donny's graduation is today." Carl's friendly smile gets bigger. "You must really be proud of him. I hear he got a good head on his shoulders"

"Yes we are all very proud of him." I smile as I answered.

Beep! Beep!

"Give me a minute son!"Carl shouts at the young man behind the wheel of the Dodge Ram Dually. "You think it was his tractor we are going to sale." He laughed as he turned back to me.

"Well you better hit the road before you get in trouble with the boss." I teased him.

Carl laughed as he walk to the truck. "Tell Donny congratulations from us!" He called out before he jumped in the truck. I waved them off, and watch my dad's pride and joy disappeared out the diveway. It is very sad to see it go.

Time to go get ready for my next hurdle of the day. A 8:30 appointment at my lawyer's office. I dress in a nice shirt  and Jean's that will comfortably for riding my bike.

I am to meet Griffin there for the final signing of our divorce papers. Again my thoughts stray to John. His sudden disappearance has me baffled. I will ask Griffin about him, they have been best friends for a long time. I am sure he will know where he is. I suspect some  trouble has happened between  the two.

The drive to the lawyers office does not last long on my bike. It is such a pleasure to dive, even under  the circumstances.  I want to thank John for keeping it for me. I make it to the office with ten minutes to spare. "Charlie, come on in. We are going to do this in the small conference room. Can I get you anything? Something to drink perhaps?" Billy Vox, my lawyer, greets me at the door as I walk in.

"No Billy I'm fine. I am sorry for being so early. I have alot to get through today." I apologized as he leads me to the small conference room. The lawyers office is in fact a old house. I an sure that they converted a old bedroom for the room I am in now.

"No problem, Griffin just called he should here in about ten minutes." He leads me over to a small round table with about five chairs around it. "I just going to go make sure the paperwork is ready, and by the time Griffin should be here. Just make your self to home." He walks out and I am left alone.

As I wait I watch the bird's swarm around the feeder outside the window. They distract me untill the door opens again as Billy leads Griffin into the room. He still has that bad boy look I liked so many years ago.

Billy tells him to take a seat, and then he begans to tell us both what the papers are all about. "So if you both agree, then all that's left to do is sign on this line here." He pointed out the line where our names should go. He hands over the pen to me first. My hand grips the pen tightly before I sign. This is the end of a era, I will no longer be know as Griffin's o'lady. With a small smile  I sign my name on the dotted  line.

When we are both done with the paperwork. We make our way out of the building together. "What time are you going to be at the high school?" Griffin asked. "I was wondering if it would be ok, if I rode with Donny and you to the school." I can tell he is a little  nervous  about  my answer.

"We am going early, Donny wanted me to take some pictures of him with his friends. So about ten or so. The ceremony doesn't start until eleven. You could go over to the house when you leave here. They should be at the house by now." I informed him. Now time for the hard question. "Where is John? I have seen almost everyone but him this visit?"

Griffin rubs the back of his neck. This is one of his tells I have come to know. He does this when ever he is unsure of what to say. "Well, we had a big fight right after our split. He called me out on a few things, things that were definitely my fault. He was angry at some things I was saying." He gives me a guilty look. This is why I will never give my heart to another man. I know he is not telling me the whole truth. He is protecting me from something, and he thinks that I can't handle it.

"Is he coming to Donny's graduation?" I asked, getting angry my own self. I can only imagine what Griffin was saying about me. I know John would stand up for me even against his own best friend.

"I am not sure, he has not answered any of my calls. Donny wanted me to make sure he was coming, but I can't get him to answer his phone. Maybe if you try, he may talk to you." Griffin gives me John's new number, and leaves me standing by my bike.

I waited until Griffin was out of sight before I dialed John's number. I listen to the phone ring for five times before the voice mail picked up. John had the annoying robot female pick up. I hate to listen to that chick, she always sounds like she hates being bothered to answer the phone.

I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth as she started her"Your call!....." by the time she was done I only leave a quick message.

"Donny really wanted you at graduation today. I would like to see you as well. I hope to see you there."

Looking at the time on my phone I see it was time to meet up Donny and get his big day started. So I headed back to the house again. We planned to ride to the school together on our bikes, along now with Griffin. Katie and her family will follow us in their van.

I am the last one to make it to the house. Katie is putting away Donny's cap and gown in the van as I pull up. Donny has my camera around his neck. Griffin is bouncing little Lanie on his hip as he talks to Jake.

"Looks like we are all ready." I say as I adjusted Donny's tie. He gets his leather jacket out of the van back seat and covers his white dress shirt.

"Where's Uncle John? Is he coming?" Donny look alittle nervous. The last four years he and John  have gotten  closer.  Donny has leaned on John  alot for advice.

"I am sure he is on his way. Let's get on the road. He will join up with us on the road to the school. " Griffin assured him as he hands over Lanie to Katie. We all mount up and begin the twenty minutes drive to school.

Just as we make the turn from the driveway on to the highway the loud sound of the pipes from John's bike let us all know he had made it in time. John maneuvered his bike into the spot next to Donny the right of his lead. Griffin gave the leader spot to Donny for his special day. John takes his second in command spot beside Donny.

I smile as they share a quick fist bump across the empty space between them. John took a quick look over his shoulder at me before he turned his eyes back the the road.

After we all make it to the school Donny and myself walk over to where the rest of the class is waiting. I took many pictures of Donny with different students. Some with graduating class and some who are just hanging out until the ceremony starts.

A beautiful brunette pulls Donny over to a table where someone has fabric paint set up. I saw one of the boys walk away with 'hi mom' painted on the top of his cap. This is when I decided it was time to find out where Katie is holding my seat.

I finally catch site of them in the crowded stands of the football stadium. Katie is waving like crazy as I follow the rest of the spectators down the steps. Most of the stands are full of family and friends. Lots of them have balloons  and flowers  for their students. There are still more people trying to find a open seat. Katie looks like she has managed to save enough for two people. I laughed as I sit next to her just to be pushed over by someone sitting next to me. I turn to look at who ever rudely pushed me, John smiles back at me.

"Where have you been?" I cut right to the chase. John looks away from me. He only shrugged his shoulders as a answer. "Are you looking to get a punishment?" I said low enough so only he would hear.

John's eyes snaped back to me. He gave me a low no for my answer. I decided that it was time we had a long talk. So I added that to my day. "After this we are all going back to the house for lunch. You will join us, you and I need to have a long talk." John only nodded at my no nonsense order.

The graduation ceremony was very emotional for me. I know this day will only bring Donny's deployment day for boot camp closer. When we get back to the house Joan has the young couple in toe and are walking back from the barn. They happily tell me that the bank has approved their loan. The house sale will be final be the middle of next week.

The lunch Katie and I planned for the happy celebration of Donny's graduation has turned into a sad day of the loss of our family home. It all wears on my already frayed nerves. I am glad to see the kids and Griffin off after such a long day.

But I have one more hurdle to over come. I walk back into the living room as stare down John. "So tell me where have you been, and don't play games. Give me a straight answer."

"Well, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida. Just around." He vaguely answers.

That's it I have had enough. My Domain is tired of his flip answers. "SIT!" I point to the couch. He sits and looks at the floor. "I want to know why you left. Griffin said something about a fight you and he had."

"He just didn't like the way I laid out the truth about him." John clasps his hands together. He almost gritted the words through his teeth.

I am not having this half assed answer. "What truth?"

He shakes his head. "I don't want to repeat it. It's something I would not want you to hear."

"Well, you see, you don't get to decide what I hear or not hear. It is my decision what I hear. So you will tell me what took place, and do. it. now." I hammered the last three words. I needed him to know that I ment business.

John gave a big sigh "He was putting you down. Joking about how you were a cold fish. I just lost it. I went off on him about his running around on you for all those years. How he treated you like shit. The whole club was there and most of them agreed with me. I couldn't stand to be in the same room with him. So I drop my cut and left." He pause for a moment. " I understand if you're mad at me for putting your business out there like that in front of the club, but I just couldn't take his shit anymore. I have covered his ass for so many times." His words have trailed off to barely a whisper.

I move closer to him and knell down in front of him. I carefully placed my hand on his knee."I could never be angry when you defining me. I was well aware of his faults. I was the one who did nothing to stop him. I came to terms with that. Now I need you to answer a very important question."

John continues to hold his head down. Oh no you don't boy. I stand up to my full hight. "Eyes on me!" His head snaps beautiful blue eyes lock on my face. "You said once that you liked me?" He simply nodded "Think about this carefully. Because am a fully trained Dominatrix now. There is only one way this will happen. You have to put your total trust in me. I will not deny myself again for a man. You will follow my instructions. Do you understand?".

His eyes are full of honesty. "I'm not sure what all that means, but if it keeps me next to you I will try anything to stay there."

My heart slammed in my chest as he stands up towering over me. I give him my best smile. "Well let's take this back to Altanta."

With that we lock up the house and ride out.
