He became a victim of Project Martinsville the day of his birth. He was born a Poochyena in the Morthewicke Pokemon Conservatory in Morthewicke, Firzhanya. He was fostered to a family in Mabelvüde (Maplewood), on one of the outlying colonies. Once he discovered himself to be a Mightyena, he pulled back from most of his community to start anew somewhere else. His fur clings to scents easily, so he washes himself somewhat compulsively, but the thick maple-scented air of Maplewood and the surrounding area has so permeated his fur that he will always smell (and, theoretically taste) of maple.

The Buri allow him to move between universes.
