brief description of alter ego disguise
To protect his identity he has a highly intricate masquerade mask, colored black and gold, it gives him an elegant and refined air while allowing his normal range of facial expressions. His hair itself is alight, the stronger his powers, the brighter his hair glows, floating translucently. But, in turn, when his power drains, it turns dull. The rest of his outfit is dependent, mostly, in contradiction to his mask, his outfit in almost militaristic in nature, lean, but armored. Darkly colored with highlights of gold, at night that is, for daytime use, he has a more sheer outfit akin to a belly dancers outfit.
personality
Aelius is a warm and loving soul, freely giving his love to anyone who wants it, even those who don't as well. He cares so deeply for those who he considers friends, who he considers family. Emotional and caring, it can either been seen as a strength or a weakness for him. He's open and loving, and surprisingly well read and spoken for what he is. All he wants to do is make people happy, he wants to see them smile and grin and he'll go through a lot to get that little smile, that side smirk. Because to him, smiling is the only way he's gotten through anything, and if he can get others to smile, then maybe he's helping them out. No matter how small. Now, does this exempt his shitty personality traits? No, not at all, Soleil is all around unmotivated and chill. He may love others, but he doesn't seem to give much of it to himself. He surrounds himself with people whenever possible— not always the best kind of people— not wanting to be alone to his thoughts. He often jokes about everyone having an alter ego, a side personality they tuck away for the costume, or for that someone special. He calls hos Eclipse, who rarely gets room to stretch on a normal day. But sometimes, his sunny and warm personality gets eclipsed by the very thing he sought to destroy. Then, he's no longer Aelius. Until that point however, he's loving and lazy, barely holding onto the title of Vigilante since he just doesn't go most of the times for one Excuse or another.

backstory
A long time ago, Aelius was told a possible spot for his contraception was the hot tub out back. If they were trying to keep Aelius out of the hot tub, it worked. Liberty Sol was a military woman through and through, a skilled marksman and a commander of her battalion. It was only fitting that was when she met her love, her ray of sunshine in her bleak and bland militaristic life, it would be on duty. Neo Sol was a dancer, as beautiful as the sun and shining just as brightly whether through his smile or electric dance moves. The clouds themselves moved to his dance, rain and thunder rolling in time to his rhythm. Liberty fell in Love the moment their skin touched, when Neo took her hand as part of a dance. Liberty finished her tour, and Neo followed her to a domestic dwelling where he taught a dance studio and Liberty became a private military contractor. And life was good, when their first son was born, he was named after the Hawaiian god of all life, Kane. Their second son, bearing their mothers golden locks and their fathers charming smile, was give the name of Aelius, the son. Life was rather tame for the sons, being loved and cared for, they learned dance from their father which strengthened their resolve and allowed them to grow strong but flexible. Aelius was always more attuned to this side, the dance, the emotion, the raw power behind each movement, behind each step. And from their mother, they learned how to fight, how to defend, and how to kill. Not to a large extent, But enough to classify as technically knowing that a knife to the heart kills. Kane was more drawn to this side, the power, the control over not only his own body, but being able to over power others. The brothers, no matter how young and separate in age, were inseparable. Yet, when Aelius was seven, a young boy, he decided to hide in the living room closet. To play quietly with his toys as his parents watched a moving, he could see them just fine, he just didn't want to watch another boring romance movie. There was a knock on the door, thinking Kane had simply returned early from his college classes, they opened the door. Only to be greeted by one of the local mobs head honcho, as it turned out, their neighbor was a rat in the organization. They simply got the address wrong. No matter, they didn't care, Liberty fought fiercely, but she was overpowered. Neo, surprised and startled, managed to speak in his native tongue, telling Aelius to stay still until Kane came. Aelius was always a kind and loving kid, perfectly obedient and carefree. But, he couldn't help but watch, listening to the horrible metronomic tikticking of the clock only pierced by the constant flow of pleading from Liberty to leave Neo out of it, to leave him alone. And Neos cries of pain, of agony as he was tortured slowly, Aelius always tried his best to block those memories, to keep them tucked away so he never had to think about his parents bloody and bruised, begging and crying for their lives. He would always remember the smell— gods the smell— and the defeated pathetic noise that came from Neo as his intestines spilled from the cavity in his stomach to the floor. And from Liberty, came the most feral, heart wrenching scream he'd ever heard, and would ever hear in his life. Liberty broke the chair she was restrained in, and managed to kill two of the many men that had killed her beloved. Only to be rewarded with a swift shot to the stomach, deciding their business to be done, they left, leaving her to die alongside Neo. Aelius sat in that closet for hours, paralyzed listening to the muffled noises of his mother's crying. Everything after that was a blur for so long, he never fully comprehended what happened that night. All he could remember clearly was the sick satisfaction he got when he heard the news that the mob was eradicated, painting an ally red. The incident itself was labeled as a tragic robbery gone wrong in the news, but, he knew. Kane knew. It took a long time for Aelius to grown into a more outgoing figure, the change was so dramatic one summer, he had to start introducing himself as a new kid come the next year. And he has never looked back since, trying his best to leave his past behind him. He lives with his brother now, and tries his best to help him solve crime- even if he doesn't know he's the Vigilante Soleil yet. He can never quite remember how or why he came about his powers, but he knows them well.

His kinship with the sun allows for him to absorb that energy, the more skin he shows the quicker he can absorb. By the same means he can discharge light and heat through his skin, even fire if he has something to conduct the heat to. While he can absorb the moons beams to a limited effect in the same manner, he just prefers to not be out at night to save everyone the trouble.

Corona's Dancing Darling Strikes Again
Soleil, one of the more vocal of the Spartan vigilantes spoke again to one of our informants while waiting for police to arrive. Our Anonymous informant tells us that, as usual, Soleil is a charismatic and charming speaker. Who's words have traveled far beyond the paper and into mainstream media, advocating for vigilante rights, and perhaps a cooperation between the Spartans and the police department. When questioned about the recent sniper fire many of these criminal organizations have experienced, he reportedly switched subjects. He fled the scene in his normal acrobatic ways when the fan club caught wind of his act, leaving the informant with a blush and a tied up criminal.
strengths
Aelius is a sparkling conversationalist, he could talk his way out of a prison in a different country if he really put his mind to it. Despite being well, Aelius, he's quick witted and tongued, and a sparkly little distraction. Although he's not much of a hand to hand fighter, he's a skilled and resourceful fighter with items he can use to fight other than hand to hand. Not to mention, he does use guns, and he's an excellent shot. Although he isn't too fond fond of semi's, ones where one well aimed shot can take someone down is his forte. He's also very flexible, acrobatic even, being a parkour master. Something that translated well from his childhood dream of being a dancer, like his dad.
weaknesses
Aelius is lacking in the muscle department, while that's not always an issue, it can be when it comes random bouts of serious arm wrestling, and hand to hand combat. And, as silly as it sounds, spaghetti. And if you're looking for something to use against him, it would be his brother. Kane Sol means the absolute world to Aelius, he's the only family he has left. Catch Kane, you have Aelius on a pretty gold leash. Not to mention his unstable, well, everything. Aelius was never the most put together to start with, making it easy to deconstruct him and tear him apart. Want the weak link in the Spartans? Here He is.
other
There's only two things in this world Aelius hates with a burning passion, being lied to, and cop killers. He's usually the first to hop on the 'Second chance' train, (because it's usually less work) but the moment he hears that it's a cop killer, he's the first to go for the neck. His brother is a detective, a pseudo cop, and the first sign that he could've been killed by this poor excuse for a pile of shit, they're dead.
