Dusk is technically a human but has biologically been modified. She volunteered as a lab specimen to be tested on genetic modification experiments. Through many tests she started sprouting wings on her back, similar to barn owls.

However, the left central portion of her body also began to slowly break down. It started out in the left shoulder but spread over time. This put her heart at severe risk, so attention was brought to the situation once it became likely fatal. The issue was fixed, however left some slight scarring and issues with her left arm being noticeably weaker.

She is extremily adaptive to the world and people around her,  often picking up on the humor and behaviour of those she spends time with. She often starts out quiet when she first meets someone until she gets to know their personality and interests better. She doesn't have extreme emotional reactions to sad or happy things, but she does make a very loud, sharp chirp noise when startled. She has a hard time picking up on social queues and emotional responses, so she sometimes makes mistakes awkward silence for annoyance.
