"Are you there...?"
The twi'lek circled her finger around the button, tracing it carefully.
She waited for a reply, listening as the static grew louder and louder.
"I can't do it anymore...I can't do it. Please...I need you.."
She started sobbing. "I miss you. Please. I need you more than ever."
She couldn't relive those old memories. They would just remind her that nothing lasted. Nothing ever did.
No one was real anymore. She was surrounded and yet...utterly desolate.
Tears came, then so did its brother, Sobbing. The sister, Anger. Then came the mother, Pain, and finally the father, Forgotten.
"Please....please...I don't want to be alone anymore."
She screamed into the desert.

"I don't want a hero. I want someone real. You don't have to be perfect."

The twi'lek wasn't perfect. She never had been. She clutched her heart and everything it loved so close, clinging to the hope that it could get better.
The only thing that stopped her from putting the pistol to her head.

Her tears licked the gun handle. Wiping her eyes, she put the weapon back in its place.

Slowly she lowered to the ground, the radio beside her.
The static lulled her and her heart to sleep, and even though it was but a noise, it would distract her from the betrayal she felt. The betrayal that no one else felt, because alas, they were not real.
