She had a reasonably normal life, though she was raised in wildlife rehabilitation. She became an older sister at 10 and her parents divorced when she was a teenager, only for her father to die of a combined drug overdose and alcohol poisoning a year after it was finalized when she was 19.

But little did the rest of the world know, she and her mother came from a long line of witches. Following the departure of her father of 13, she, her mother and her now 3-year-old baby sister could continue their witchcraft and wildlife work in some peace. Her godmother was also practicing the craft with them whenever she was in the state to visit.

Unfortunately, high school came around and everything went to hell, she was failing three classes in her freshman year and she'd just been abandoned by three friends, whilst another was doing her best to peer pressure her into smoking weed with her and a few other people, who were, of course, the wrong crowd.

Alongside this, her now very absent father doing everything in his power to avoid child support and making their lives hell, he went as far as to deny paternity of the two girls and called her a slut, saying that she, at just 15 years old, was sneaking out of the house, doing illegal drugs, drinking underage and even having sex, despite knowing that she was asexual back then.

Between all of this, she somehow began to believe she was as bad a kid as her father painted her to be, even though she knew deep down none of it was true. And as a result, for a little more than a year she was cutting, but only on her legs so no one would no.

Soon enough, a few weeks before she turned 17, her mother caught her in the act one day. She wasn't angry, she let her daughter vent her problems and began taking her to see a therapist that actually treated her with respect and like she was an adult, unlike others who would have talked down to her as if she were a little kid.

And it helped her get better. Most of the scars healed, but a handful still remained long after she recovered. She got rid of her toxic friend and her possy. Her grades improved and it slowly got back to the way she used to be, including helping friends who suffered the same painful urges to do it.

Following her graduation from high school, she and three friends moved out of state to attend college. Around the time school started, her mother lost her job and was struggling to pay the bills and take care of her youngest daughter. Even on food stamps, times were extremely rough. To help her mother out, Naomi decided to take care of Kaelynn while her mother worked on getting her financial troubles back in order and find a new job. Kaelynn soon moved out with her older sister and things are slowly but surely improving now for their mom.

But sometime after she moved, she discovered a wendigo living in the woods near her house. When it tried to attack her, she turned into one of them and fought it. To the near death. When she was finally able to defeat the creature, it somehow developed a respect for her abilities and it is now not a pet, but a friend, ally, and protector of herself and her housemates.
