• Gardening. (She picked this up from her grandmother on her mother's side. She finds it calming, but often accidentally incinerates plans when she gardens to calm down. As such, she has a wide range of edible plants and herbs)
• Flying (Her crane summons take her on rides over the village and she uses them as a mode of transportation, kind of like how Sai uses his ink birds, when the need for a speedy mission comes up. Her cranes can usually fly only two light people or one heavy person.)
• Reading (Keiko reads most of her dad's books several times through to get a feel for what he was like as a person. Keiko had to ask her grandmother for her father's pen name, and then once she ended up in Kohana, she began reading them.)
• Training herself with her kekkei genkai. (From her dad's books)
• Sleeping. (Keiko's kekkei genkai actually requires her to have more sleep)

— I̠n̠t̠e̠r̠e̠s̠t̠i̠n̠g̠  F̠a̠c̠t̠s̠ —

• Her chakra nature is fire, which is rare for someone from the Land of the Sea.
• She summons cranes, Lilly and her mate Ursa and Ransu (female, blind in one eye because of an accident when she was a chick)((flash fire on her nest, lone survivor)).
• Her mother will give birth to her little sister in the Land of the Sea. This worries Keiko because her mother had a history of being abusive to Keiko.
• Keiko still exchanges letters with her grandmother, however, they are fairly brief and she usually never gets more than a sheet of paper back. Keiko feels that the letters are needed to keep tabs on her mothers activity and health. Keiko also genuinely enjoys taking with her grandmother about plants and such.
• Keiko lives alone in Kohana despite several adults who try to house her. (these include Anko, Kakashi, Kureani and the third Hokage) She likes living alone so that she can practice her kekkei genkai on her own. This practice involves voluntary lowering her own core body temperature and then working to fight under these stressed conditions.
• Her normal body temperature runs a few degrees higher than everyone else's, due to her kekkei genkai that allows her to withstand flame on skin contact without her burning her skin. However, the draw back is that once she is in water for more than two minutes, her body temperature will swing back to that of a normal human. Side effects of this include: shivering, lasting cold, slowed reflexes, and possible hypothermia (if kept in the water for too long).
• Keiko can not over heat, unless she specifically lowers her body temperature and then raises it up again extremely fast.
• She is selectively mute around Team 7, only Kakashi knows that she can talk. She is mute around her team because she feels she usually has nothing to add to their conversation. Also, she tends to enjoy observing the group dynamic. (The order of finding out she can speak goes: Hokage, Kakashi, Iruka, Sasuke, Sakura+Naruto at the same time.)
