Avel's biological father. Avel loved him dearly when he was younger. He taught him everything he knows about magic and medicine. However, the Queen (Estelle) had him dethroned for being unloyal and a failure, and forced Avel to kill him.

♡ Erson Saga (former King of Hearts) ♡
Proud man. Not so powerful mage. Was killed by the Queen (Estelle) because he was apparently caught cheating on her with the Diamond Queen (Angelica Mercer) when she was still alive.

♡ Estelle Hestia (Queen of Hearts aka Red Witch) ♡
Callous, spoilt, ruthless, merciless. Her servants must agree with her blindly or suffer death. She is feared by all and nobody dares to cross her. She switches moods very quickly (one day she'll be slaughtering thousands and the next she'll be peacefully knitting a scarf). Considers everyone her puppet, especially Avel. She tortured him as a kid and instilled all her twisted values and ideologies into him, all to shape him into the perfect Heart. He's a tool for her to one day rule over Annadia, and he has nowhere to escape.

♡ Valentina Hestia (younger step-sister) ♡
Daughter of Erson Saga. Is given a bad reputation because of it. Is not very strong (magic-wise) but she is very exceptional in bossing around Avel. She's always tried to get close to the Queen but was never as favoured as Avel was, issuing her jealousy. The Queen sees her more of a rival than a daughter and vouches to never give her the throne.

Personality: Avel lacks a moral compass. Death has always been a reoccurring matter so he doesn't think twice about it. Same with almost every positive emotion (kindness, compassion, etc.)—he's learnt that possessing them made him weak, therefore he's discarded them. Nothing gets him off more than the sight of blood or seeing somebody suffer. Despite the fact that he's a few screws loose, he is undeniably charismatic. He's always sure to put on a fake smile and whisper words of love as he's been taught.

Goals: When he was younger, under guidance of his father, it was to create a cure for all the sicknesses in the world. He's long since given up on that—there is no cure for insanity.

He also dreams of finding his one true love someday and getting married. Oh, and one day dying by their hands (for a Heart, killing the one you love, or being killed by the one you love, is the purest sign of affection).

Habits: Enjoys messing around with people (giving them hope before betraying them and leaving them to die). Experimenting on and murdering his patients. Flirting with girls.
