Background: His parents own a coffee shop he works at frequently. Accidentally got involved in a bunch of bad groups in middle school (particularly Miyabi's) which led to him getting in lots of trouble & sentenced to Akelius Academy.
— Miyabi used him to his advantage to get revenge on Ryu. Out of fear of being beat up or that he'd put his family members in harm's way, started to do what he said.
— In truth, Daichi is a sweetheart with a completely un-intimidating personality as a delinquent. Had always wanted a companion who just gets him, but considering his circumstances, he dismissed the idea entirely. Until he met Reina, that is.
