History:

Wula and Tey are the result of an experimental program run by Cerberus in which Iki was harvested for her reproductive eggs which were then fertilized in a lab with the Illusive Man's sperm before the eggs were then implanted back into Iki. She would later give birth to twin human/nax hybrids.

Wula and Tey were raised within a Cerberus facility by their mother, who did love and care for them and into their later childhood years and teenage years, they would be visited by the Illusive Man who would monitor their progress and growth when their training began.

Iki would teach her children all about their homeworld and her family whilst Cerberus taught them in the use of weaponry and fighting. Iki though, took to teaching her children how to wield the more traditional bow.

Iki would eventually be taken from her children one last time, in their early teenage years, never to return. Neither Wula or Tey know what happened to her.

Personality and traits:

Wula has a good heart, although her background and her closed off attitude sometimes gets in the way of that. At first, she can come across as callous and indifferent, but as she becomes familiar with someone, she begins to trust and respect them. She is courageous, determined, passionate, and possesses exceptional strength of character. In her own words, "I can pass any test a human can pass".

Like all Nax, Wula is devoted to her family and friends and is willing to put herself in a dangerous situation for the sake of them. Family means everything to the Nax, something that Iki instilled into her children, though some of it seems to be an instinct as well as even the Nax raised in Cerberus without a Nax mentor seemed to still have that protective tribal family instinct.

Family to Nax means more than just blood relatives, it usually extends to entire tribes. Whilst all Nax have a 'mother' and a 'father' and sometimes 'siblings', many extend the sibling title for those around them, calling those closest to them brothers and sisters. To those that have been housed in the Cerberus facility, they have come to consider each other their own tribe and as such there are many hierarchical similarities to those on Pandatorea. There is usually a tribe leader, an elder, a healer (medic), warriors, hunters, and gathers (cooks)

Wula is considered to be that tribes lead and best huntress, and as such many of those within their little tribe show her great respect and turn to her for advise in battle. Tey is similarly respected as the best and lead warrior. Iki was consider their tribes elder before her death as she was the oldest Nax within the facility, having been in her adult years when the humans first made contact with the Nax on Pandatorea.

Nax are considered very territorial, and this can be seen in the Cerberus Tribe. To them, the facility is their home and despite the suffering they endured here they defend it. It is why many Nax Hybrids are used as part of the security team.

Wula isn't someone who would just blindly follow orders and has been known to disobey her mother and Ceberus, having attempted to escape on many occasions despite Tey's warnings.

Wula is also wise far beyond her years, and can see past a person's physical flaws to the heart within.

Wula has a tendency to get angry when people close to her do wrong or when others try to offend or harm her loved ones.

Powers and abilities:

Powers:

Hybrid Physiology: Due to her heritage, Wula is part human and part Nax, giving her Enhanced abilities. Including:

- Nax Physiology

(Enhanced Strength): Cerberus has noted that the Nax has four times the strength that humans do and as a hybrid, Wula's strength goes beyond this. Wula can overpower large full grown humans with ease, able to hurl them with a single hand, able to throw them up to 50 feet, she is able to easily defeat and overpower up to a dozen grown men in hand-to-hand combat, and Wula has the ability to knock out any man completely unconscious with one punch to the face. Her physical strength also extends to her legs, as she is able to jump several feet into the air.

(Bioluminescence): Bioluminescence is the way that living organisms emit light. It is employed by nearly all Pandatorean animals. Even the Nax have patterns of glowing dots that are unique to each individual. To avoid being detected by predators or prey, they can damp down their own light.

The Nax can also use their bioluminescence to speed up their healing, whilst Wula and Tey have this ability, it isn't as strong as it would be if they were on their mother's home world and surrounded by bioluminescence flora.

(Enhanced Durability): Wula's bones and muscles are denser and much harder than humans, which makes her incredibly durable. Though she is not bulletproof, she can survive extreme blunt force trauma, such as being hit with solid objects. Wula has been shot, stabbed, caught in several explosions, and taken several beatings. With her hybird physiology, Wula is able to recover and continue fighting after taking such powerful blows in efficient time.

(Enhanced Speed): Wula can run and move at speeds beyond the peak of human potential.

(Enhanced Agility): Because of Wula's Nax physiology, she is capable of moving her body and using her limbs beyond that which humans can. She can coordinate her body with perfect balance, equilibrium, flexibility, and dexterity.

(Enhanced Stamina): Wula's body eliminates the excessive build-up of fatigue-inducing lactic acid in her muscles and her musculature produces fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a human, granting her exceptional endurance and lung capacity, greater than humans. Wula can exert herself at peak capacity for several hours without showing any sign of fatigue, allowing her to fight for long periods of time. Additionally, Wula can hold her breath underwater for several minutes and will not lose breath or get exhausted due to her stamina extending to her lung capacity.

(Enhanced Reflexes): Wula's reflexes are superior to those of the finest athletes. Her reflexes allow her to dodge rapid gunfire at close range. Wula's auto-reflexes allow her to easily dodge gunfire and respond quickly to fast-paced combat soldiers and are subdued by her before they can even train their weapons on her. Her reflexes can also be used to attack and counter instead of just defensive purposes, allowing her to punish attacks with devastating counters when fighting extraordinary quick opponents.

(Enhanced Senses): Wula's natural senses are enhanced to the peak of human potential. She can see, hear, smell, feel, and taste things imperceptible to the normal humans.

(Biotics (Nax)): Because of the Nax's bioluminescence, they have a naturally occurring biotic power that seems to stem from her bioluminescence, whereas other species require Element Zero.

Nax biotics seem to take on a more white/clear color, this color appears sharper and brighter than in other biotics, possibly because it is naturally occurring rather than through exposure, also possibly because of their bioluminescence.

Biotics, in simple terms, is a form of telekinesis that is created by element zero nodules embedded in body tissues. These powers are both accessed and augmented by using bio-amps, this is not a necessary for Wula and Tey. Biotic individuals can knock enemies over from a distance, lift them into the air, generate gravitational vortices to tear obstacles or enemies apart, or create protective barriers. Wula has a number of Biotic abilities which she utilises in battle:

- Lift/Levitate: When Wula uses Lift, it will cause enemies to float helplessly in the air, making them more vulnerable to attack. She can also use this ability on a smaller scale to move objects of various sizes.

- Biotic-Field Generation: Wula is able to create a highly durable barrier made of a mass effect field that she can shape and conform as needed. Unlike most Biotics, Wula is capable of extending this ability to others, using it to protect others from enemy fire. Like any physical barriers, the barrier can be broken with extreme brute force. During her time with Cerberus, Wula has learned to project her energy around herself, constructing a close-to-the-body biotic armor to protect herself from extreme impacts, such as falls from great heights or blows from superhumanly strong combatants, increasing her durability to a significant degree.

- Stasis/Binding: Wula is able to bind, imprison, paralyze and/or otherwise stop targets moving normally and possibly completely freezing them where they were. This is achieved by using mass effect fields.

- Nova: Wula can channel her biotic energy into a point-blank, high-damage explosion around herself.

- Shockwave: Wula blasts enemies with a line of explosions that proceeds through walls and other solid objects.

Queue: Wula and Tey are able to use their queue's just as every other member of the Nax race can. This grants them the ability to bond with other Nax to share memories and emotions that they cannot voice, possibly to also have internal conversations, this has been seen with Tey and Wula and noted by Cerberus.

The queue can be used to connect with computer systems, allowing the individual to mentally scan and search through the computer files and databases without needing to use their hands. This is mostly useful during battle if a computer needs to be hacked but they do not wish to lose the use of their hands for their weapons.

Telepathy: A rather unique and rare power. The Nax can concentrate their biotics and bioluminescent into their fingertips which enhances the sensitivity of the nerve endings there. Whilst doing this, the Nax can then touch another's forehead and read their minds. This seems to be an adaptive power that they quickly evolved. It is a way to communicate without the use of a queue with species that do not have one including the humans, the turians, the krogan, and the salarians.

Animal Empathy: Given the Nax's bond with nature, they seem to have a sort of ingrained animal empathy that is effective on even species not found on Pandatorea. During experimentation, Tey was able to calm a rabid varen without the use of his queue, simply by using his biotics and his bioluminescent. Wula has also demonstrated this. Cerberus are unsure how this works.

Peak-Physical Condition: Wula appears to be in peak-female conditioning, having the strength, speed, acrobatic prowess, stamina, reflexes, hand to eye co-ordination & durability that are greater than most, if not all, humans, she is able to push herself for several hours at a time.

Abilities:

Despite her respect for life, Iki was a formidable warrior. She was very skilled with a bow, and taught Wula and Tey how to use one as well. Wula was also taught how to fight in close-range combat with her knife. She single-handedly defeated the pack of varen that had attacked Tey using both her bow and knife.

Marksmanship: Wula was taught how to shoot by Psy and refined her skills at her school's rifle club. She has shown remarkable skill with many different firearms, including pistols, shotguns and automatic weapons.

Archery: Wula is also a very skilled archer, having been taught by her mother whilst with Cerberus. She can rapidly fire up to three arrows within a few seconds or hit multiple targets simultaneously.

Combat Skills: Wula has very good hand-to-hand combat skills, and is said to have a "heavy swing". Wula has also shown that she is strong enough to snap a man's neck, with her thighs.

Guerrilla Warfare: Wula is able to hide in the trees in order to ambush her enemies. This, combined with her bow, allows her to silently eliminate all the threats in the given vicinity.

Superior Athleticism: Wula's Nax physiology allows her to move her body with exceptional grace and skill. She is very acrobatic and has great finesse, performing wall scrambles to reach higher levels or swinging around a landscape as if it were a trapeze. Wula is a strong swimmer, and can hold her breath for a decent amount of time.

Pain Tolerance: Her tolerance for physical trauma & fatigue is far greater than most because of the suffering she went through at the hands of Cerberus.

High-Level Intelligence: Many people dismiss Wula as unintelligent because of the way she talks, and because the Nax aren't known for technological advances, but Wula is actually very intelligent, as are most of the Nax. Her studies with Cerberus and her mother have given her a knowledge of alien races and history. She is capable of easily identify buildings and artifacts within a short time studying them.

Survival Instincts: Cerberus taught Wula how to utilize survival Instincts, in order to have an advanced sense of awareness & heightened sense of hearing, smell & sight. She has a keen eye for detail.

Archaeological/Alien Knowledge: Wula has vast knowledge of ancient history and culture thanks to her studies with Cerberus.

Advanced Resourcefulness: Wula has shown to be very resourceful capable of making a bow with things around her.

Unbreakable Will: Wula has shown on many occasions that she is incredibly tenacious, and will do anything in order to accomplish her goals, save her friends and family, and do what she believes is right.

Weapon:

Because of their height and size, Wula and Tey had weapons specifically made to fit and work with them.

Recurve Bow: Wula personal weapon of choice is a specialized recurve bow which greatly accommodates her unique combat style, allowing her to accurately shoot enemies from a considerable distance, or quickly and effectively fire at enemies during a close range fire fight or brawl while dodging gunfire and attacks from numerous enemies. To further aid in combat, the bow has a red laser sight to help Wula quickly draw a line of sight when targeting enemies at close range. When pushed to hand to hand combat the bow is durable enough to serve as an effective melee weapon.

The bow is collapsible, with breaks above and below the handle, as well as midway down the length of each limb. This allows the bow to be folded into a more compact form that makes it easier to conceal, carry, store, and transport. When deployed, the bow can swiftly re-assemble in one quick motion as the limbs lock back into place.

Four buttons running down the length of the bow's grip, in line with each of her fingertips, allow Wula to request speciality arrows from her quiver without taking her mind off the battle. Wula can also use these controls to remote trigger certain speciality arrows such as the explosive tip.

It also had the capability to transform into a bo staff which could be used for melee combat.

- Quiver:

Wula specialized arrow quiver is designed to organize and store her arrows as well as assemble and present them on demand. The quiver is typically worn on Wula back allowing her easy access to her arrows. By carrying the arrows in two separate bundles, side by side, the quiver retains a flat, slim profile while being worn, which keeps it from hindering Wula's movement. Each bundle contains twenty arrows, making a total of forty between the two halves.

The quiver is composed of a light-weight, symmetrical outer frame that houses two separate bundles of arrows. The frame surrounds the arrow bundles at the top and bottom, with a narrow spine between, protecting the internal mechanisms while leaving the arrow shafts and arrowheads visible. The arrow shafts and arrowheads are stored separately. The arrowheads are stored in a cassette, at the base of the quiver. Wula selects a particular payload via the remote control in her bow's grip and the quiver selects the appropriate arrowhead, and mates it to the shaft of an arrow. The arrow is then lifted up above the other arrows so that it can easily be found and drawn.

- Arrows:

Conventional: Although considered to be a standard arrow, this arrow is of Nax design and as such is made from Tìrey Tskxe, an indestructible element found on Pandatorea. This arrow can easily penetrate and injure an enemy while also being difficult to directly remove from a wound. Like any arrow, this arrow type is suitable for stealth operations because it makes minimal noise and is less conspicuous than Wula's other, more specialized arrows. Wula uses this arrow the most during missions and battles. This arrow is also capable of cutting through Geth armour.

Explosive: A number of arrows were made to serve as remote explosives that could be triggered via the remote in Wula bow. One such arrow featured a number of micro cables that could secure it to its intended target before detonating.

Grappling Hook: An arrow with three small, claw-like prongs that was made to function as a form of grappling hook. When fired a high tension cable remains attached to Wula bow, as the arrowhead makes contact with a surface the three prongs become embedded and a series of micro-explosives remove portions of the arrow shaft from the cable at its core, allowing the cable to pivot from the arrowhead/grappling hook itself.

Thermal Incendiary: A special arrow that contains a chemical mixture that can melt through a variety of materials, including most metals, when activated, similar to a powerful thermite reaction.

Burst Shot: A special arrow that contains multiple secondary projectiles. After the arrow hits its target, a ring of secondary projectiles stored in the arrowhead fire in a circular pattern, hitting any nearby enemies. This arrow is useful for attacking groups of enemies.

Taser: An arrow that is attached to a small device that delivers a electrical discharge capable of incapacitate a person.

Pulse: An arrow that releases an energy wave at a 360 degree that can incapacitates or kill surrounding enemies.

Trap: Two arrows on opposite sides of the area, made to incapacitate anyone who passes between them by using an electric discharge.

Scatter: An arrow made by several fragmenting arrows, allowing it to separate into other smaller arrows to attack an enemy multiple times

Electrical: An arrow similar to the Taser and Trap Arrow but upgraded to be able to fire the arrow at the target, releasing an electric discharge.

EMP Detonator: An arrow that releases a burst of electromagnetic energy disabling any electronics within its perimeter.

Biotic Arrows: An arrow that releases a biotic burst when it hits it's target.

Other Weapons/items:

Tactical knife: This is usually attached to her ankle.

- Armor: Whilst Nax rarely wear armor on their home planet, Wula and Tey are not there and are required by Cerberus to wear clothing and armor. Wula's consist of a skin tight breathable and moveable fabric in black. Wula hates it but understands the need to protect her body from bullets.

- Tactical Belt: Wula wears a tactical belt that hangs loose on her waist. There are many pouches that hang on here including ones for:

I have a few ideas for this story, it will probably be a few days before I can get really stuck into it though and I wanted to run them by you guys.

Firstly, not sure when I want to pick this up. ME1 would give a longer story. But not sure how to work in Wula and Tey, possible that like Mass Effect 1 itself, Alliance could have gotten word of a facility, or two. One housing cryo. The other with the Nax. Steve and the Nax are liberated from these facilities.

Steve is in cryo and in Cerberus' hands. They've been testing his blood looking for a way to replicate his super soldier status, no luck. Heavy dose sedative to knock him out and then straight into storage I figured would have been the best way to get Steve into Cryo.

Not sure how he ended up in there though. Ideas welcome.

Female Shepard (Xiomara 'Xio' Shepard)

Steve is part of the Illusive Man's dossier for Shepard. Along with Wula and Tey.

I think I want to defrost Steve before Shepard goes after the twins.

Wula and Tey are kept in a facility that is now run by rogue Cerberus operatives, along with a number of other Nax and Nax hybrids who are all freed by Shepard and the team.

Tey is injured in the escape attempt and to protect him from Cerberus, Shepard contacts the Alliance to collect him and help him. Tey agrees that the Alliance would be preferable to Cerberus, he tells Wula to go with Shepard, and that he'll be waiting for her to return.

Tey and the other Nax are handed over to the Alliance who help them recuperate before putting them in touch with the Nax ambassador on the Citadel.

Wula's Loyalty Mission: Travel to Pandatorea and discover the native Nax people with Wula as Shepard and the team return a litter of viperwolves or thanators rescued from a science facility.

*Wula keeps one of the pack pups, the runt, it would not survive on Pandatorea on its own anyway

* Thanators are the larger, rideable species. Imagine her riding through Havarl on his back.

Steve's Loyalty Mission: No idea tbh, ideas welcome. Maybe something to do with his shield.

MEA: Tey and Wula both go with Steve to Andromeda. Along with maybe a handful of the saved Nax and Nax hybrids. I hate to think of them dying out across the universe. Maybe the reapers hit their homeworld early on and wipe them out so the only remaining Nax are those on the Citadel.

Some travel with the Nexus, the rest scattered among the other arks, Tey travels with a handful of Nax on the Asari Ark. Wula is among the humans on the Hyperion because of her position as Nax Pathfinder allied with the Human Pathfinder team.

Steve is part of the Pathfinder team on the Hyperion and eventually the Tempest.

Very few Nax stay on the Citadel, and those that do join Shepard in the final battle on Earth so it is unknown what their fate is.

Also see a few animal species going with them, it makes sense that there would be some cryo dogs and cats on the Hyperion. So other species would be frozen as well. Or at least the means to make them, like sperm and egg of various species.

Vibranium:

Vibranium (also known as Isipho and Tìrey Tskxe) is a nearly indestructible element found naturally on Pandatorea and found in the form of a crashed comet in the African region known as Wakanda.

Pandatorea appears to be the natural, original source of vibranium. It is unknown how it came to Wakanda, only that it seemed to arrive there on a comet that crashed.

The Nax have their own name for the element, tìrey tskxe, meaning life stone, but it is difficult for anyone outside of the species to pronounce, so they have started using its more common name.

The element severely impacted the environment of Wakanda, enriching the soil and plant life. The element was mined into malleable metal and was used extensively by Wakandans in their everyday lives and making Wakanda the most technologically advanced country on Earth. Wakanda became an isolationist nation, posing as a third-world country, in order to keep the existence of vibranium a secret, although it was discovered by researchers sometime during the 1940s. Believing the small amount he had obtained to be the only source in existence, Howard Stark used the entire supply to forge a shield, which he later presented in 1943 to Captain America.

"Millions of years ago, a meteorite made of vibranium, the strongest substance in the universe, struck the continent of Africa, affecting the plant life around it. And when the time of men came, five tribes settled on it and called it Wakanda." - Wakanda history vid.

A meteor containing vibranium had crashed into an African land mass. This land mass would later be known as Wakanda, which operated as a third world country and isolated themselves from the rest of the world, in order to keep the vibranium a secret and make it exclusive to the country, alongside their advanced technology.

Pandatoreans are known to use vibranium to make their weapons and armor making them one of the most protected species out there. Their arrow tips are capable of driving straight through steel walls and glass without much resistance. Swords, spears, and shields, all made of vibranium, decorate the Nax people, and it is probably why, despite their primitive weapons, they were successful at driving back the humans who had far more advanced weaponry and technology.

In a pure mass, vibranium forms a solid metal that is stronger than steel, but only a third of the weight, as well as being completely vibration absorbent. This makes the material nearly indestructible, as any attempt to physically damage the material will be negated on a molecular level as mechanical/kinetic energy will be absorbed instead of breaking any bonds in its molecular matrix. In general, this means that vibranium can absorb a wide variety of physical impacts, including high-caliber bullets, without taking any damage or weakening.

Vibranium also deflects kinetic energy. The Nax's shields for example, were able to deflect high-caliber bullets.

Vibranium has magnetic properties.

Vibranium has been stated to not only be a metal, as Nax sew it into their clothes, implant it into their bodies as tattoos, and use it as a power source in their villages.

Vibranium in its metal form can also conduct electricity.

The nearly indestructible metal is also sonoluminescent; energy cannot be destroyed and only converted into another form, such as when Thor struck Captain America's shield with his hammer, it created soundwaves in the hammer, while the shield converted the blow into blue, ultraviolet light.
