Bio:

Riley Barnes was born in a joint Hydra-Soviet Facility, in Siberia to Elizabeth Stark and James Buchanan Barnes in 1975, the result of a one-night stand after accidentally crossing paths with each other following a Winter Soldier mission.

Whilst Elizabeth was pregnant, she was kidnapped by Hydra who along with other organisations experimented in vitro on the unborn baby which would later result in Riley developing abilities beyond the natural levels of super soldier serum inside of her. Due to the nature of her powers and the way they manifest, it is highly possible that this experiment involved the use of angel grace, though it is unknown where they got it from.

Elizabeth sadly died giving birth to Riley, likely from poor treatment from her captors, the invasive experiments and general weaknesses from her time with the organisation. Riley's care was taken up by a number of Hydra-hired nannies and scientists, though she proved to be a very troublesome baby with her nannies struggling to settle and calm her.

Due to a timely encounter, Riley met her father when the Winter Soldier was being led past the facility apartment where Riley was being kept when he heard her crying. Seemingly upset and stirred by the noise, he fought off his guards and charged into the apartment where armed guards watching Riley turned on him, though they were quickly ordered to allow it and they watched as his picked up and soothed the wailing baby as no others had been able to do. It was in this moment that Riley subconsciously connected to him on a telepathic level, which would cause her issues in the years to come including nightmares and phantom headaches.

By the time Riley was 6, the Winter Soldier was permitted to spend longer and longer alone with his daughter, with Hydra believing that he was completely loyal to them. One night, whilst alone with Riley, instead of sitting calmly with her until she fell asleep, he snuck her out of the facility. Prior to this, Riley had been starting to telepathically affect the Winter Soldier, which led to the revival of a few memories of his past. Because of this, the Winter Soldier took Riley to one person he thought would help her. Howard Stark.

Before this, he had also given Riley a red and silver star necklace, engraved on the back in Russian.

It took the Winter Soldier three days to make his way to the United States with Riley where he snuck into Stark home and left Riley in a basket in the kitchen before slinking back into the shadows, returning to Siberia and Hydra.

Howard already had a son with his wife, Maria. Tony. When Riley arrived, Tony was 11 years old.

It is likely that the Winter Soldier was punished for what happened, and Riley's behaviour in the following days reflected that, with her crying and screaming as if in pain. It was Tony who managed to calm her down enough that she fell asleep but it still haunts Riley.

When it became obvious to Howard that Riley was not an ordinary child, he started to investigate her, her abilities, and her blood. It was during this time that he discovered her blood relation to him.

He later reached out to Missouri Moseley for help. Instead of encouraging Riley and her powers, Howard became determined to hide her powers from her and the world. This was achieved through Missouri enchanting Riley's red and silver star necklace to block her powers. Missouri would write a letter for Riley, which Howard was supposed to give her when she turned 18 (he didn't get a chance to), explaining her powers, her own theories as to where they came from, and extending an offer of help if she needed it.

Despite the enchantment, Riley's telepathy and telekinesis would show up sporadically over the years, usually in moments of anger or emotional pain and the enchantment did nothing to dim her physical augmentations and Howard had trouble with a growing girl with enhanced strength and speed.

1989: Riley (13) suffered from severe back pain for months, leaving her almost unable to move without suffering agony. Howard put her through every single test he could think of to try and find out what was wrong with her, with this eventually leading to an X-ray discovery of bone growths on her shoulder blades that Howard couldn't explain. Two weeks after this, a pair of white feathered wings erupted from Riley's shoulders, right where the bone growths had been on her x-ray. Riley was devastated. Believing herself to be cursed or perhaps a monster herself.

Maria assured her that she was not a monster, that she was just special. To a teenager, going through puberty, and having spent months in agony with no answers, didn't take this very well. She'd snapped that she didn't want to be special, she just wanted to be normal and that she was sick of things happening to her that no one had answers for.

Riley then took off for three weeks, trying to wrap her head around what happened to her. She eventually returned to Howard and Maria and apologised for everything.

1991 (17): Howard and Maria prepared to go away to the Bahamas for a few days over the Christmas holiday with Riley whilst leaving Tony home alone, although their father remained sceptical about how responsible Tony would be while they were gone.

Whilst travelling through Long Island, their car was attacked by The Winter Soldier, which caused it to crash against a tree. Riley managed to get out and call for help for Maria and Howard.

The Winter Soldier then attacked Riley who defended herself as best as she could against a trained Soviet assassin, only receiving a broken arm from the fight. Seeing her necklace seemed to trigger something in him though. He lowered his fist and instead curled his hand around her cheek calling her little bird in Russian. Howard sought to defend his 'daughter' but this instead drew the Winter Soldier's attention back to him and Maria and his 'mission', seemingly snapped back into that mindset.

Howard seemingly recognized the Winter Soldier as Bucky Barnes but the Winter Soldier attacked Howard by repeatedly punching him in the face with his metal arm and cracked his skull, so Howard would appear to have died by his head crashing into the steering wheel - and then he placed the deceased body back in the seat before strangling the horrified Maria to death and stealing the serum from the car. He took one last look at Riley as she sat on the ground, clutching her arm and crying, before he disappeared into the night.

Riley was later found by the emergency services and taken to hospital where she was met by Tony. Riley would remain silent for many months, refusing to talk at all as she dealt with her grief, her guilt, and her fear.

Riley would continue to be haunted by the murder of her parents for many, many, many years. Tony had his own problems and Riley barely saw anything of her brother following their deaths.

Appearance:

Riley is a tall, curvaceous woman, weighing 150 lbs and standing 5'10" in height, with brunette hair and hazel eyes. She dresses much like her adoptive brother, in comfortable jeans and rock band tees, usually with a plaid shirt. However, if she believes that she will be using her wings, which she does so rarely, she compensates by wearing tank tops. She adds heeled or combat boots and a red and silver star necklace that was gifted to her by Bucky during her early years and later enchanted to keep her powers hidden from her.

Personality:

Riley is a courageous and independent person, who faces danger head-on. She is caring, confident, and headstrong. Despite her good traits, sometimes Riley can be very impulsive.

Riley can easily come off as being distant, rude, brutal, snarky and sarcastic. If aggravated or extremely annoyed by someone in her disfavour, Riley could become an intimidating figure. Beneath her hard-bitten demeanour, however, lies a more vulnerable side, plagued by grief, guilt, self-loathing and deep-seated insecurity.

She refuses to allow herself or her friends be disrespected by anyone. To the few people she cares about, she defends them fiercely, but also keeps her distance from them so as to not have them become collateral damage. She is very prone to giving second chances, does not believe in no-win scenarios, and has been shown as entirely willing to be tortured and torture or killed and kill in defence of her family and friends.

Though a very serious woman, Riley is by no means stuffy and has a sarcastic sense of humor, which mostly surfaces when she is with Tony, whom she is comfortable around.

Riley shows on multiple occasions a soft spot for children. She is very good with them, able to talk to them with ease, and she is always very sympathetic. Riley's affection extends to nearly all children, particularly young ones, although she also cares about teenagers. She is more willing to put her life in danger for children than she is for nearly any others.

Pairing: Dean Winchester and Steve Rogers

- Undecided if it will be both or one by the end. But she will start off with Dean and depending how I change the timelines to line up, then her and Steve will either be whilst Dean is with Lisa or whilst he is in Purgatory. 

- I am open to the three of them ending up together as well. 

Timeline Notes:

The only MCU date I am changing is that of Iron Man 2, so it and the Avengers both line up with the year that Sam is 'gone' and Dean is with Lisa. TBH, as long as it comes before the Avengers and after Iron Man then it doesn't really matter where it sits in the timeline.

As for the line up of SPN and MCU I haven't fully decided yet. I kind of want Dean's 'purgatory' death to occur just before Winter Soldier so that Riley and Steve can adapt their friendship during that before the reveal of Riley and Bucky's blood relation.

Powers:

Naturally Enhanced Physiology: Being born with the Super Soldier Serum wired to her DNA, all of Riley's bodily functions, such as her strength, speed, senses, durability, agility, stamina, intelligence, reflexes, and healing are naturally enhanced.

- Enhanced Intelligence: Riley has an IQ of 170, which is well above genius level. Between how quickly she can learn new skills and her craving for knowledge, Riley possesses a dearth of knowledge on a wide range of topics including mathematics, engineering, mechanics, physics, mythology, occult, medicine, and foreign languages.

- Enhanced Strength: Riley's physical strength is enhanced to considerable superhuman levels. Her strength allows her to physically overpower combatants including elite-trained humans, extraterrestrial troops, and robot sentries. She can bend metal bars with visible effort, slam through solid walls and reinforced glass, and pry open steel doors, though Riley relies more on stealth than strength.

- Enhanced Durability: Riley's bones and muscles are denser and much harder than average humans, which makes her incredibly durable. Though she is not bulletproof, she can survive extreme blunt force trauma, such as being hit with solid objects, or contact with superhuman opponents.

- Enhanced Speed: Riley can run and move at speeds beyond the peak of human potential. She can catch up to or outrun speeding vehicles and cover a small area such as city blocks in seconds as well.

- Enhanced Agility: Riley's agility is far greater than that of an Olympic-gold medalist. She can coordinate her body with perfect balance, equilibrium, flexibility, and dexterity.

- Enhanced Stamina: Riley's body eliminates the excessive build-up of fatigue-inducing lactic acid in her muscles and her musculature produces fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human, granting him exceptional endurance and lung capacity, greater than of normal humans.

- Enhanced Reflexes: Riley's reflexes are superior to those of the finest human athletes. Her reflexes allow her to dodge rapid gunfire at close range.

- Enhanced Senses: Riley's natural senses have been enhanced to the peak of human potential. She can see, hear, smell, feel, and taste things imperceptible to normal humans. This allows her to see further, hear with amazing clarity, detect specific persons, objects, substances with her smell, etc.

- Regenerative Healing Factor: Riley has the ability to heal and regenerate all physical and mental damages instantly. Any damaged area or lost anatomy, she will completely heal and regenerate with no lingering side effects in seconds, even forcing objects embedded in her body out to allow her body to heal properly. Even if she does clinically die, she can quickly resuscitate herself. This trait makes her practically immortal. However, she is still capable of feeling pain and enough harm to her can render her unconscious.

- Disease/Contaminant Immunity: Riley is virtually immune to all viruses, diseases, and most poisons or toxins. Only the most potent of chemicals will affect her and only for a brief period before returning to normal.

- Decelerated Aging: Riley's healing factor keeps her from ageing beyond her physical prime. Even when Riley is 40 years old, she will have the body and appearance of that of someone in their 20s. In addition to prolonging her life, her overall health, prowess, and condition remain at its peak.

- Environmental/Weather Adaptation: Riley's body is able to survive and adapt to any environment or weather conditions without changing shape to adapt. She is able to survive at any temperature without discomfort. She can wear minimal clothing in sub-zero temperatures without any harm.

- Naturally Enhanced Fingernails: Riley has near indestructibly strong nails that always seem to be at stuck at the length of 2 cm, in a neat stiletto top. She usually paints these black with little white feathers on her middle fingernails.

Telekinesis: Riley has the ability to levitate, move, immobilize, and manipulate objects with her mind. Howard once worried that Riley's powers had no limits. "Telekinesis" is an umbrella term for any ability that involves using the mind to influence/manipulate/move matter/objects.

- This is usually accompanied by a gold mist-like energy, similar to Wanda's red energy and the blue of the angels' abilities.

-Telekinetic Maneuver: Riley can use her telekinetics to alter an object's directional course, e.g. changing what number a dice lands or which holes pool balls fall into, or even to deflect an opponent's attack.

-Telekinetic Pull/Push: Riley can use her telekinetics to pull objects towards the user or to push objects away from the user, e.g. yanking a book off a shelf or sliding a beer bottle across a table.

-Weapon Calling: Riley uses her telekinetic ability to call her weapons to her if she drops it.

-Object Manipulation: Riley has used her telekinesis to alter an object's inner workings, notably unlocking a door or a window.

-Telekinetic Compression: Riley uses her telekinesis to crush soda cans after use.

- Force-Field Projection: Riley can generate telekinetic shields or barriers to block. She is even able to create multiple fields for individual people, all the while enacting various other telekinetic feats at the same time though this is energy-consuming.

- Molecular Manipulation: At the full extent of her power, Riley can manipulate matter at a molecular level at will, with the exception of vibranium. This tends to be seen when Riley reaches a breaking point through desperation or anger. She hates this ability because of the true potential it has to cause devastation and pain.

- Disintegration: At the full extent of her power, Riley is able to atomize nearly anything within her surroundings at will. This tends to be seen when Riley reaches a breaking point through desperation or anger. She hates this ability because of the true potential it has to cause devastation and pain.

- Telekinetic Flight Enhancement: Riley can use her telekinesis to enhance her flying abilities, this can also be used to give her a boost at take-off and landing.

Telepathy: Riley has a wide array of telepathic powers. She can telepathically communicate with other humans, she finds it incredibly difficult to read the minds of monsters, which in itself can be a handy trick if the monster is trying to blend in with humans.

- When using her telepathic powers her eyes turn yellow/gold, making it difficult for her to hide when she is reading someone's mind.

- Mental Detection: Riley is able to sense where nearby people are, though she has trouble with monsters, citing that their brainwaves are different.

- Mental Link: Riley has the ability to be able to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual unless she severs it or they die, this is seen with her connection with the Winter Soldier.

- Mnemokinesis: Riley could manipulate the memories of individuals. She can erase, restore, or even implant false memories into a person's mind. She once threatened Dean by telling him that she could make him believe he was a six-year-old girl. Aside from erasing memories, Riley has the ability to restore memories as well.

- Amnesia Inducement: Riley had the ability to cause loss of particular memories and amnesia in another person or group of people. This comes in handy when hunting monsters and wanting to make law enforcement forget that they've seen them.

- Telepathic Illusions: Riley has the ability to project realistic illusions through telepathic means, able to simulate invisibility for herself and other people, as well as being able to appear as a completely different person to multiple people.

- Telepathic Shielding: Riley has the ability to resist the telepathic intrusion of other psionics, this includes any monster with telepathic abilities, the angels, and the likes of Wanda Maximoff.

Wing Manifestation:

Riley has two large, white feathered wings that grow from her body allowing flight. They also protect her from rear attacks. Riley conceals her wings by having them appear as huge white tattoos on her back and shoulders, even reaching down to her hips and thighs, but they lose their tattoo form when she manifests her wings. Each wing had a razor-sharp talon at the far tip that could inflict major damage on an opponent.

Applications:

- Flight: Riley can use her wings to fly or otherwise move through the air.

- Gliding: Riley can use her wings to glide through air without having to apply thrust.

Enhanced Lung Capacity: Riley has lung capacity and/or ability to use the oxygen very effectively enabling them to hold their breath for extended periods of time while staying active.

- Atmospheric Adaptation: Riley's lungs acclimatize to allow her to survive aerial deficiency, which are among the longest and most painful deaths the average human can suffer.

Aerial Adaptation: Riley is able to survive and adapt to extremely high or low air pressure (not becoming disoriented or deprived of the normal breathing capacity), and high wind friction; this is accompanied by an innate immunity to the vertigo and/or fear of heights.

Abilities:

Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: After her parents' deaths and her confrontation with the Winter Soldier, Riley took classes and taught herself how to fight. She is well-versed in various forms of hand-to-hand combat. She is shown to be very precise and methodical, quickly adjusting her tactics to better suit the situation and type of opponent.

Expert Weapons Knowledge/Training: Riley is trained in the use of guns, bows, swords, daggers, and chained weapons. She is also able to assemble and disassemble more complicated weapons.

Skilled Manipulator: In desperate situations, Riley is shown to be quite good at manipulating others to give her the information she wants.

Basic Mechanical Knowledge: Riley demonstrates an understanding of how motor vehicles work.

Gymnastic Training: According to Tony, gymnastics was something Maria encouraged in Riley and she had various trophies and ribbons from her her teen years.

Master Acrobat: Due to her extraordinarily enhanced agility and reflexes, Riley has immense capability in using flips and spins in a fight and in flight.

Stealth: Riley is a capable infiltrator.

Escape Artistry: Riley has been captured numerous times, usually relying on herself to escape, using nothing but what was in her vicinity, and has even managed to escape armed men, on multiple occasions, using improvised weapons and clever tactics.

Indomitable will/High pain tolerance: Riley is a woman of great mental and physical strength.

Multilingualism: Riley speaks her native English. She can also understand (and possibly speak) German, French, and Latin. Tony claims that Riley simply has a gift for languages, implying that this might actually come from her telepathy.

Equipment:

Shield Suit #1 (Eventually): Given to her by Fury and Shield for her first real mission with them. This will be used only once. It is an all-black suit with matching goggles.

Shield Suit #2 (Eventually): Given to her by Shield following her return to the States. And will be worn through to the end of Iron Man and Iron Man 2. It is an all-black suit with goggles though this one has been designed with her wings in mind.

First Individual Suit (Eventually): Designed and created for her by Tony Stark, Riley's suit is both form-fitting and practical in a black and grey design with slots in the back to allow her wings to manifest. This comes with a black and grey goggle-mask to hide her identity. This will be given to her during Iron Man 2.

Avengers Suit (Eventually): Riley wears a white protective suit as an Avenger. The suit was designed for her by Tony Stark. This will be in use for the Avengers.

Other Suits: Riley will have various versions of her Avengers suit, with Tony adapting it to work with her flight and fight patterns and numerous life changes as well as a stealth version and even a red and gold one, a red, white and blue one just because.

EMP Grenades (Eventually): Designed for her by Tony, Riley will utilize electromagnetic pulse (EMP) grenades, which upon activation emits a powerful electromagnetic pulse capable of temporarily disabling electronic equipment.

- These will eventually come in feather blade variations too.

Feather Blades (Eventually): Designed by Tony, initially as a bit of a joke, Riley will eventually use white feather shaped metallic blades, the calamus of which almost appear to be similar to arrow heads that can be specially designed for numerous things, including explosive and EMP. They will be situated in numerous pocket slots sewn into the front of her suits, with each pocket containing different variations.

Crossbow Pistol: Riley has and uses a handled version of a crossbow as her main weapon of choice. She also carries extra bolts for it on her left thigh. She mainly uses it in long-range combat but can use the bolt in the crossbow as a close-quarters weapon. She often uses this when bored at the moment.

Crossbow Pistol Gauntlet (Eventually): Along with designing her suit, Tony will adapt her crossbow pistol by turning it into a gauntlet to be worn on her right wrist.

- She will eventually retire this when she starts using her Feather Blades.
