In addition, Rayna was very bitter at her real father for abandoning her and it wasn't till she was older that her mother assured her that her father did not abandon her of his own free will, that Rayna began to have a change of heart.

Powers and Abilities:
Rayna has the powers and abilities of mermaid.
Merfolk Physiology: Rayna has incredible superhuman abilities due to her merfolk heritage.
Super Strength: Rayna is much stronger than vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, and humans. She is able to decapitate other species with a single chop and shatter windows and doors with small objects. She is also able to break through metal doors and destroy them with her own hands. As such, Rayna lifted a large submarine over her head, pushing it quickly to the surface without tension.
- Super leaps: Rayna's incredible strength extends to her legs, making her able to jump immense vertical and horizontal distances.
Super Speed: Rayna's intensified quickness, agility, reflexes, and endurance makes her much faster than vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, and humans. She is able to stop other supernatural species in their tracks and run miles in mere minutes. Her reflexes are similarly heightened.
- While in water, Rayna can generate an immense propulsive force, allowing her to swim at very high speeds of at least Mach 4.6. This propulsion is strong enough that it can cause a "sonic boom" effect. This action can also propel herself from the water and onto the surface and can travel the ocean faster than any naval vessel.
Super Agility: Rayna possesses much more superhuman stamina, flexibility, reflexes, agility and dexterity than any vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, and humans. She can move, jump very high, flip, climb and run incredibly fast without difficulty or exhaustion.
Super Senses: Rayna has a more enhanced sense of hearing, sight and smell that far exceeds those of any vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, and humans.
- Enhanced Vision: Rayna's vision lets her see in the darker environment of the sea, as her eyes reflect all available light, giving them a distinct sheen in darkness.
Super Durability: Rayna can take far more trauma than any vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, and humans, without much discomfort or injury. She has a resistance to sharp blades, powerful explosions (on par with a 40mm grenade, falling from great heights, explosions of hand grenades, small arms and tremendous pressures underwater. Rayna survives many powerful blows from stronger opponents. Rayna is still able to stand on the battlefield after receiving extreme physical punishment, which demonstrates her incredible durability after being injured as well as her healing rate.
Enhanced Healing Factor: The injuries of Rayna heal faster than those of vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, and humans. She can heal/recover/regenerate from any and all injuries in a matter of seconds.
- She also appears to have a very high tolerance to alcohol, as she was hardly drunk after a whole day of drinking with a human friend (who was barely able to walk as a result of the amount of alcohol he consumed to try and keep up with her)
Immortality: Merfolk are extremely long-lived beings, essentially immortal, whilst they age up to 25 at the same rate as a human, their ageing then slows to an almost complete stop. There are rumors that there had been a merman who had lived to 2,500 before he was killed by the Volturi.
Amphibious Transformation: Rayna is able to take on an ordinary human appearance through a painful metamorphosis to blend in with modern society and avoid being detected for varying lengths of time. If she was to be submerged into water again, her legs refuse together to form her scaly fishtail. This transformation can be triggered consciously, if Rayna was planning on diving into the sea, she could trigger the transformation mid-air before she hits the water, this could be helpful if she's fleeing, rather then her having to wait in the water for her transformation.
Aquatic Habitation: Rayna can survive and adapt to underwater environments such as high water pressure and extreme water temperatures.
Speed Swimming: Rayna powerful and streamlined tail and huge flukes can propel her through the roughest waters with incredible speed, grace and agility with minimal restrictions to water resistance. Like a dolphin, her fins can propel her high out of the water.
Siren Song: Exclusive to the female members of the merfolk race, Rayna is able to emit a captivating singing voice that lures anyone who hears. The song can be effective on anything or anyone, including men, women, and even animals.
Aquatic Respiration: Due to her merfolk heritage, Rayna is able to breathe both on lands and underwater, this also allows her to clearly talk underwater with others as if she was above water.
Water sensing: No matter where she is or how far from the ocean she is, Rayna can always sense which direction the sea is in and find her way back to her element.
Enhanced Beauty: Rayna possess a level of grace, physical beauty, sense of style and social poise above that commonly found on earth. All those with merfolk blood are considered incredibly attractive.
Telepathy: As a mermaid, Rayna the ability to enter the minds of others, though she and her family don't use this ability often as it makes their eyes glow blue.
Marine Telepathy: Rayna is able to telepathically interact with sea life. She first manifested this as a young child using it to commune with a school of fish in the local river.
Hydrokinesis/Water Manipulation/Water Magic: Rayna can control water using magic that is naturally found within her due to her merfolk physiology. She can shape and manipulate water, inorganic compounds with liquid, gas (steam, water vapour), and solid (ice) states, including changing them from one state to other.

- Cryokinesis (limited): Rayna can use cryokinesis to a small degree. She is able to use the ice and snow around her to make an icy hurricane. She can also manipulate frozen or icy water around her.
Atmokinesis (limited): Rayna can summon hurricanes and other types of storms, but the extent to which she can control them is as of yet unknown.
- Electrokinesis (limited): Rayna used this skill unintentionally on one occasion, while creating her own hurricane. Sparks of lightning appeared as her hurricane increased in power. She hasn't attempted to use this ability since, it is possible with some training she could learn how to control this power.
- Aerokinesis (limited): Rayna can summon strong winds, which she can use to create storms such as hurricanes and typhoons.
- Mist Control (limited): Rayna can control and create mist that seems to stem from her fingertips as she wiggles them.
Bubble Creation: By combining her hydrokinesis and aerokinesis, Rayna can blow bubbles, she usually does this when she is bored.
Perfect Bearings: Rayna has perfect bearings on the ocean, so she can easily navigate her way at sea.
Heat Immunity (limited): Rayna has a far higher than normal resistance to heat and burns.
