Bio:

"I've done some pretty awful things. The kind of things that could haunt a woman when she sleeps" - Petra

Petra Parker, born Margaret Martha Wayne, is the biological daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. For the first few years of her life, Petra was raised by Bruce and Selina and it was a loving environment despite her parents working on opposite sides of moral laws. They worked hard to keep it from their home life.

When Petra turned seven, she became seriously ill and over the following three years went from doctor to doctor and state of the art hospitals to state of the art clinics for help. But nothing seemed to work and Petra deteriorated to the point she was hospitalised full time.

It was then that a mysterious figure contacted Selina in regards to a new, untested, and experimental treatment that they believed could help Petra. With the promise of help for her daughter, Selina jumped on the offer and accepted, unknowingly selling her daughter to the Court of Owls.

Petra disappeared from the hospital and the following day, a large amount of money was dropped into Selina's bank account. She fled Bruce, worried of the fallout, and wanting to slip into the shadows to try and find Petra on her own without the help of Batman, believing that more questionable methods would be needed.

After being taken in by the Court of Owls, Petra was subjected to invasive and painful medical tests and experiments, including a cure. This cure came in the form of mutated spider venom, which not only healed her, but made her stronger than she ever thought possible, granting her abilities relating to spiders. She would then go on to endure painful and horrific scientific tests as she grew up among the group.

She was initially raised by a small handful of scientists and doctors who didn't particularly care about her well-being, only their results, but she did eventually gain two full-time guardians, May and Ben Parker whom she came to affectionately call Aunt May and Uncle Ben. They were the only people that seemed to show Petra any care and affection and she is still very close to May.

The Court also changed her name, to further isolate her from her true identity.

As she reached her teen years, and after the death of Ben, Petra was moved to the suburbs with May and attended High School alongside her training with the Court. It was here that she met MJ Cobblepot, Harry Osborne, and Eddie Brock. The four of them became close friends, the best of friends and Petra would eventually start dating Harry.

Her teen years were often spent running around with her friends all around Gotham City and getting in trouble. She was often arrested by Jefferson Davis who would go easy on her and the others on the account of their age and the, mostly, harmless nature of their activities.

Petra would often work as a part-time babysitter during her teens, and often would babysit Jefferson's son, Miles.

After High School, Petra attended Gotham University, alongside her friends, though each of them pursued different paths. Petra focused on the sciences, specifically engineering and chemistry. During this time, she was split between her studies, her friends, being Black Widow, and her training with the Court of Owls, and sometimes her friendships were the ones to suffer with only Harry remaining close to her by graduation.

Her training with the Court consisted of manipulation techniques, hand-to-hand combat, weaponry, infiltration techniques, and seduction techniques among other things.

After graduation, Petra learnt how to better balance her life. With her training with the Court now complete and her taking an internship with Dr Otto Octavius, Petra has had time to repair her friendship with MJ, and even volunteers at F.E.A.S.T alongside May.

Petra also works for the Court of Owls as an assassin, thief and a spy operating throughout Gotham City as Black Widow, sometimes known as The Widow, for the Court's interests. Her jobs for the Court, tend to take place most often at night, but it is not unheard of for her to be summoned during the day.

Harry has since broken up with Petra due to his illness and they haven't seen one another since not that long after graduation. Harry breaking up with her did upset her, but Petra was more upset by the loss of his friendship and companionship. She found it difficult, and still finds it difficult, to understand why he abandoned her and their friendship. Considering how she feels about Bruce, Harry's abandoning of her has likely added to that insecurity and anger that she feels.

Over the last five years, Black Widow has both clashed and helped Batman several times with him even giving her the nickname Spider-Girl, much to her annoyance.

- Whilst Petra is unaware, Batman discovered her true identity only one week before his death and he had been looking to track her down with no luck.

- Petra only puts together the link between Bruce Wayne and Batman after his death.

At some point after graduation and Bruce Wayne's death, Petra dated Martin Li for a year but have since broken up after he asked her to move in with him. Petra's issues got in her way and she had trouble trusting him in their relationship.

As Black Widow:

Black Widow is a cunning and morally ambiguous individual, whose playful and flirtatious demeanour masks an intelligent and relentless individual with a powerful self-righteous streak. She has little to no qualms about lying and manipulating others for the gain of the Court of Owls.

Black Widow isn't considered to be a psychopath or criminally insane. Despite it being a part of her job, she doesn't seem to actually want to kill, she also doesn't seem to enjoy doing it, despite how hard she tries to remain emotionless whilst on the job. Under some situations, Black Widow has, yet sometimes reluctantly, aided Batman, in his endeavours over the years before his death. They interacted enough that he even gave her the nickname Spider-Girl and he even figured out her true relation to him.

Her true personality:

Petra is a very complicated woman. She is fierce and determined, yet can remain cool, calm and controlled. Petra comes across as quiet and withdrawn to those that meet her and many can find it too difficult to get to know her.

Petra can be flirty and charming, but this side of her comes out more so when she is relaxed and comfortable and around people she really trusts.

Her past has emotionally scarred her; Petra finds it difficult to form lasting attachments with people.

Petra is a much more moral person then her Black Widow personality would imply, and will not kill or harm needlessly, nor does she attack those she deems to be innocent people, however, she is willing to follow orders in regards to assassination targets, likely due to the backlash she will be forced to suffer through if she refuses.

Petra is extremely loyal and protective over those few who can gain her trust and respect. She is completely ready to sacrifice her life if it will save someone she loves, and will stop at nothing to protect her friends.

Petra is a woman of vice; she loves to drink alcohol, smoke and have sex, knowing that none can affect her health due to her powers. This can also imply some deep, deep issues, which she probably does have given the way she was raised.

MJ describes Petra as a warm, sympathetic, caring, compassionate, empathetic, selfless, and self-sacrificing friend.

Petra has shown that she makes a very loving, devoted, loyal and caring friend and companion.

In regards to her past, Petra is a deeply hurt and angry young woman. Based on the truth and the lies implanted into her by the Court of Owls, Petra believes that her parents abandoned her. And whilst technically this is true, the Court have failed to inform her that they tricked Selina into selling Petra to them. She has a deep hatred of Bruce Wayne and later Batman believing that he turned his back on her and instead took in other children to raise and train. She believes that he didn't care that she was gone and replaced her easily enough with others.

- Obviously, the game doesn't really go into timelines and stuff because the comics don't really do that. But best guesses have the Knights ages at: Dick (25), Barbara (24), Jason (22), and Tim (18). So Dick becomes Robin the same year as Petra is taken by the Court of Owls. There is crossover between the two of them, but it is very brief and Petra was a very sick 10 year old at the time and was practically living in a hospital bed and Dick was going through his own issues but they have interacted in the past.

Spider Physiology: After Petra was infected with the venom of a mutated spider, she gained the proportionate physical capabilities of a spider.

- Superhuman Strength: Petra possesses considerable superhuman strength, due to it being the proportional strength of a spider. Her strength alone is sufficient enough to catch a 1.5-ton car that was moving at 40 miles an hour when it was just inches away from hitting a bus. Petra can also easily hold the case containing her suit with one arm, whereas a grown man struggled to lift it up with both arms.

- Superhuman Durability: Petra's body is inhumanly resistant towards impact forces and blunt force trauma.

- Superhuman Speed: Petra can run and move much faster than an ordinary human and is adept at dodging quickly. Petra is also quick enough to catch up to a speeding vehicle on foot.

- Superhuman Agility: After Petra gained her powers, she became as agile as a spider, being able to make movements that would be extremely difficult for a normal human with great facility, capable of swinging around on thin spider-webbing and jumping great distances and heights without difficulty. Her bones, muscles, and joints have more elastic strength and durability, allowing her to perform gymnastic and contortionist manoeuvrers without damaging her bone structure. Petra can leap much higher than a normal human, enabling her the ability to jump and leap to a height of several stories in a single bound, and easily capable of jumping and leaping from one building over a street to the next.

- Superhuman Reflexes: On several occasions, it has been shown that Petra possesses reflexes far beyond the capabilities of normal humans. In conjunction with her Spider-Sense, Petra is able to easily dodge full auto gunfire at point blank range. Petra also possesses a heightened sense of equilibrium which greatly enhances her balance and coordination.

- Enhanced Senses: Petra's senses are greatly enhanced, with her describing them as being "dialled to eleven". Hence, Petra is able to sense potentially dangerous things shortly before they occur. For example, if an object is being thrown at Petra, she will usually be aware of it, even if it is hurled from far away and she is facing the opposite direction. Her senses are so developed that before mastering her own powers, she was forced to reduce her sensorial input by wearing dark sunglasses and headphones, she still sometimes does this when she is feeling overwhelmed or if she just wants to relax.

- Spider-Sense: Petra has shown an extrasensory awareness of impending danger, known as her "Spider-Sense," a sixth sense, "Spidey-Tingle" or simply "tingle." Her brain intakes and responses to stimuli at an accelerated rate, acting as a precognitive ability to sense potential or immediate danger. This awareness thus implies some kind of intelligence, capable of parsing Petra's surroundings, identifying and critically evaluating a potential threat at a subconscious level, thus alerting Petra of dangers she cannot readily notice at first, allowing her to effectively dodge and counter incoming attacks in combat, including projectiles aimed at her even from a blind spot. Provided with her extraordinary speed and wall-crawling, the Spider-Sense is sufficiently well-linked to her superhuman kinesthetics and reflexes, and it permits Petra to evade all manner of spontaneous dangers by an evidently instinctual exercise of some uncanny reflex. It also gives her omnipresent detection to her surroundings, which is how she web swings without looking where she shoots her webs with ease.

- Regenerative Healing Factor: Petra's increased metabolism allows her to rapidly heal and regenerate from harm faster and more extensively than normal humans can recover from.

- Wall Crawling: Petra can adhere to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces in order to scale them and has stated that she does not use any adhesive gloves or fabrics to do it. This ability allows her to stick to any surface when willing herself to, as physical contact with said surfaces creates a locking connection necessary to support her body, even when she is inverted above the ground. Alternatively, Petra could make individual portions of her body adhesive.

- Web Generation: Through the use of her Web-Shooters, Petra is able to project a substance similar to a spider's web. The web's tensile strength and adhesive properties allow her to use the webs for a variety of purposes, from swinging between buildings to restraining his enemies.

Spider Empathy: Petra has a strong affinity for spiders herself. They tend to flock to her, accepting her almost immediately, recognising somehow that she is not an enemy but a friend. This allows her to calm them, train them, befriend them, and form strong bonds with them. These spiders will even sometimes come to her defence when she is attacked. This can be seen with Banjo, her beloved Chilean Rose Tarantula.

Abilities:

Genius-Level Intellect: Petra is a highly intelligent science enthusiast, with aptitudes in chemistry, physics, and engineering.

- Master Scientist: Petra is a brilliant scientist who is highly skilled in various fields of science. She developed a highly advanced chemical compound into a silk-like material, using salicylic acid, toulene, methanol, carbon tetrachloride, potassium carbonate, and ethyl acetate to make it sticky, malleable, load-bearing, strong, hold with extreme amounts of tension and stress, yet have a little stretch to it.

- Expert Engineer: Petra has an affinity for working on and building computers, and has become an expert when it comes to creating new technology. As such, she constructed her own web-shooters with over-the-counter materials along with her first suit and goggles.

- Expert Tactician: Petra draws from pop culture when formulating strategies. She also uses the laws of physics to her advantage.

Master Combatant: Petra's combat style is considered to be somewhat instinctive and comprised of an improvised collection of techniques that emphasizes the use of her superhuman strength, speed, agility, and Web-Shooters. Hence, Petra uses quick, powerful attacks and agile movements while firing her webs to immobilize her enemies.

Master Marksman: Petra possesses extremely keen eyesight, and is able to accurately utilize her Web-Shooters to neutralize her targets.

Master Acrobat: Due to her superhuman agility, Petra can perform acrobatic and gymnastic feats, such as flips, with little effort. Petra's acrobatics make her a formidable opponent.

Stealth: Petra is as stealthy as any spider. She has easily been able to sneak up on large groups of people and even other vigilantes on patrol.

Expert Thief: Petra is a skilled thief skilled in stealth, picking locks, escapology, evading alarms and cracking safes.

Expert Marksman: Petra can throw most projectile weaponry with great aim and is well-versed in the use of firearms. Petra also shows expertise in knife throwing.

Expert Hacker: Petra can hack into most computer systems without tripping any firewalls or security.

Master Spy: Petra is a dangerous individual highly skilled in espionage, stealth, disguise, infiltration, and demolitions. She is an expert in the field of seduction, often resorted to seducing men to obtain her goals. Petra is also able to bend men to her will and sometimes even get them to do her bidding for her. Petra's skills were so great that Bruce Wayne created a lie detector that he hoped she wouldn't be able to deceive.

Master Assassin: Petra is notorious in the art of assassination, considered to be one of the most dangerous assassins in Gotham City.

Equipment:

Black Widow Suit: Petra's main suit was designed and created by her, and created using a mix of pvc, latex, and kevlar material. It is almost all black except for the white piping on it. Petra's suit is designed to give her maximum flexibility and movement while providing her some anonymity, and stealth. Her mask covers her features, keeping her from instant recognition. The material is a thick insulating cloth, protecting her from cold and wet conditions, while also being fire retardant. When she is freed from the Court, she replaces the full mask with a simple eye mask.

- Gloves: The suit has a utility pocket seamlessly integrated into the gloves. The left glove contains spare web fluid cartridges for her Web-Shooters. There is also a tracker within the right glove.

Spider-Discs: Petra utilizes EMP discs that look like spiders which she uses to short circuit security systems and alarm systems.

Web-Shooters: A pair of wrist-mounted mechanical devices used by Petra to project synthetic webbing.

- Synthetic Webbing: Created by Petra herself, this web-like organic chemical substance is meant to emulate the silk created by the common spider, while its composition and tensile strength are substantial. This synthetic spider silk is used by Petra to help swing around Gotham City, bind and tie up enemies, steal weapons, and make other useful applications. Petra combines this synthetic web with agile movements to dodge enemy attacks and often targets the enemies' arms and legs to break their balance and immobilise them.

Spider-Tracer: A small tracker designed by Petra that resembles a spider, this can be attached to people, items, vehicles, whatever she needs to track.

Motorcycle: Petra uses a motorcycle for travelling around the city.

Police Scanner: Petra has an app on her phone as well as an old-school police scanner, in which she listens to reports of crime around the city. Mostly to keep an ear out for the police getting close to her but sometimes uses it as a way to steal from other criminals.

Apartment: Located in the Bowery, Petra lives in a tiny studio apartment. The wallpaper is fading and peeling from the walls, there are at least two broken windows, the bathroom is a squeeze, she has no wardrobe space, and the heating doesn't work leaving it freezing in winter. This is apparently what the Court of Owls has to offer its 'best' spy and thief. Despite this, she loves it. It is her own space and a place away from the Court where she can be herself.

Implant: Petra wears a mysterious implant behind her ear that many mistake for a hearing aid. This is in fact, very similar, to the device that Harley Quinn will eventually roll out that allows her to control people. The device that Petra has, does not run on the same frequency, but does work in the same fashion. This is a safe guarding device placed by the Court of Owls to control Petra if she ever were to go rogue. She believes it controls the spider venom inside of her, simply because that is what she was told.

Alfred: Last time you did it, you turned everything blue and red, so no.

Petra: That was a mistake. Because I washed the, urm...the American flag. My... Can I just please just...?

Alfred: No one washes a flag.

Petra: I do, and I won't anymore.

Alfred: This is my machine.

Petra: Fine. It's just underwear.

Alfred: This is laundry, my job. Go and eat your breakfast.

Petra: All right, laundry sheriff. I'll do it later."

[Petra notices her phone ringing]

Petra: I don't really wanna talk to Dick right now

Jason: Answer the phone.

Petra: Why?

Jason: Because if you don't talk to him, then I have to talk to him. I don't want to talk to him.

[Petra declines Dick's call]

Petra: You sent Dick to voicemail?

Petra: I gotta go.

Jason: You did not just ghost Dick!"

Petra: That's not how it goes."

"Jason: Oh, here's a good one. [reading from a magazine] "Some suggest that Black Widow's powers include the spider's ability to hypnotize people"

Petra: Stop, come on.

Timeline Note:

So I put together my own timeline for the game, mainly for myself and when I'm writing.

6 Years before Batman and 11 years before Catwoman: Bruce meets Selina Kyle

5 Years before Batman and 10 years before Catwoman: Petra is born

Birth of Batman (5 years before Catwoman and 15 years before Gotham Knights): Bruce becomes Batman.

5 Years of Batman (10 years before Gotham Knights): Dick Grayson becomes Robin. Petra is 'sold' to the Court of Owls and disappears. Selina becomes Catwoman and leaves Bruce to find her daughter.

8 Years of Batman (7 years before Gotham Knights): Dick becomes Nightwing. Jason Todd becomes Robin.

9 Years of Batman (6 years before Gotham Knights): Jason Todd is 'killed' by the Joker.

10 Years of Batman (5 years before Gotham Knights): Bruce Wayne places a headstone for Petra and she is declared officially dead. Black Widow first appears in Gotham City, she clashes with Batman who, upon realising that she is just a child, lets her go with some stern words.

11 Years of Batman (4 years before Gotham Knights): Tim Drake becomes Robin

13 Years of Batman (2 years before Gotham Knights: Jason returns to Gotham City and reunites with the Batfam after years away and exposure to the Lazarus Pit.

15 Years of Batman (Weeks before Batman's death): When fighting alongside Black Widow, Batman figures out that she is his missing daughter. She disappears before he can confront her on it.

15 Years of Batman: Batman is killed by Ra's and the Batcave and Wayne Mansion are destroyed.

15 Years of Batman: Petra attends the funeral of Bruce Wayne. Gotham Knights band together.
