Bio:
Not much is known about Mira's past, only that she is the daughter of Dagan Gera and Doma Kestis and was born during the time of the High Republic.
Mira claims to recall very little of her early years, only that she does have memories of her parents being deeply in love and attentive to her.
Both Dagan and Doma were Jedi Knights during the time of the High Republic and were both renowned explorers of the Outer Rim Territories.
Mira was born in 244 BBY.
During her childhood, the Jedi had taken an interest in the planet Koboh and the nearby Koboh Abyss. While many attempts to navigate the Abyss had proven unsuccessful, Dagan and Doma managed to make an uncharted flight through the Abyss and discovered the hidden paradise world of Tanalorr, with which they took great interest, believing it to be a safe place to raise their child in the ways of the Force.
While petitioning the Jedi Council on Tanalorr to permit the training of initiates with the help of Doma and Master Santari Khri, Tanalorr was invaded by the Nihil marauders. Dagan led the defense of the planet and fought to hold off the Nihil forces for as long as he could, but eventually the Jedi Council gave the order to abandon Tanalorr. The decision was compounded by a refusal to counterattack the Nihil occupation, instead opting for the destruction of all devices capable of navigating the Abyss.
The decision enraged Dagan and made him both fall to the dark side of the Force and turn his back on the Jedi, murdering several of his fellow Knights in a rage over their destruction of the Abyss compasses. Eventually, he returned to Doma, who tried to return him to the light while holding him back from claiming one of the last remaining compasses. However, Dagan ignored her pleas, his obsession with Tanalorr having consumed him. Doma ignited her lightsaber in warning, stopping Dagan from grabbing the compass. Dagan used the Force to push her aside, and was about to grab the compass when Doma severed his right arm, rendering him unconscious. Doma called for a medical droid and Dagan was placed into a bacta tank in the Forest Array's Rehabilitation Wing to be held in stasis for the foreseeable future, as she intended for Dagan to be given a second chance at life. Nevertheless, Dagan felt betrayed by the person he trusted most.
By this point (257 BBY), eleven-year-old Mira herself was in a bacta tank and hidden away from everyone except for Dagan, placed into one by Dagan himself in a misguided and twisted attempt to protect her and keep her safe.
Doma spent the rest of her life trying to find her daughter, and died before she could.
In 43 BBY, Mira's bacta tank was found by Wato in the sands of Tatooine. It is unknown how it got there. Wato took the tank back to his store in Mos Espa and awoke the young teenager and tasked Shmi Skywalker with her care whilst 'employing' her to work in his store as a scrapper.
Two years later, Miraria began to desire a sibling. Often feeling lonely due to the lack of other children around her and often feeling disconnected to the world. This desire for a sibling was felt through the Force who answered her calls and granted her a 'brother' in Anakin Skywalker.
"Had they been born in the Republic, we would have identified them early. The Force is unusually strong with Anakin, that much is clear. Who was his father?"
"There was no father. I carried him, I gave birth, I raised him, I can't explain what happened.....Sometimes I wonder...."
"About what?"
"She's very powerful, isn't she?"
"Mira? Yes. You don't think that...? That's not possible" - Qui-Gon Jinn and Shmi Skywalker about Anakin and Mira
Believed to have been conceived by the midi-chlorians, but actually created by the Force, Anakin Skywalker was born to the slave Shmi Skywalker.
Mira works as a scrapper for her master's shop, located in Mos Espa.
Personality:
As an adolescence, Miraria is a person who "cannot stay out of trouble". She often makes unwise, reckless, often selfish decisions. Miraria is an outgoing, rebellious young woman. Miraria also embodies a somewhat petty and jealous nature.
"What are you doing?"
"Having some fun." - Obi-Wan and Miraria
Miraria has a major manipulative streak and will often take advantage of people to get what she wants, but that doesn't mean she doesn't feel bad to do so especially if it is someone she cares for.
She seems to have a sense of humour, though it is very sarcastic and can be quite dark. Miraria is amused, most notably, by the stupidity of others, especially humans, in comparison to herself.
Miraria is a seductive and formidable beauty full of secrets and danger. She is keenly observant even when it appears she isn't paying much attention to what is going on around her.
Miraria has a bad temper if she ever is provoked, and she can be unpredictable, over-protective towards Anakin and stubborn, but also very kind, intelligent, selfless, empathetic, compassionate, and friendly. She is extremely loyal and has a loving nature.
While Miraria is capable of forgiveness, some acts such as betrayal are usually considered unforgivable by her. Miraria does have morals, but whenever a member of her family is in danger of being killed, she does not hesitate to commit immoral acts.
As a child, Miraria was an idealist yet was often impatient, always looking ahead to the future regardless of her present surroundings. She was impulsive, reckless, and often had little concern for her own personal safety. Dagan once found her hanging upside down over the side of a ship to get a closer look, holding onto the ledge above by her legs alone.
Miraria displays perseverance, and while she shows fear at certain points, even being on the verge of tears, she keeps to the mantra "Stop running. And use it". She is willing to do everything she can to help someone in need, even if it is ill-advised to do so.
Miraria's intelligence shines through in battle, as she navigates and plans. As well as this she is easily able to overcome puzzles she uncovers. Miraria takes her work seriously, almost to the point of being obsessive.
"I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking for permission. So I'm here to fight. And if you want to stand in my way...then....I'll fight you, too."
Miraria is an incredibly smart, clever, and determined individual who will go towards any extent to achieve her goals.
She deeply cares about Shmi and Anakin, enough so that she is more than willing to run away from Watto to keep an eye on Anakin when he leaves Tatooine.
Due to her life growing up in slavery, she's incredibly distrusting and almost always assumes the worst. Qui-Gon even points this out, asking her if she thinks she's even capable of trusting others, due to all the childhood trauma she experienced. This was shown when she couldn't sit with her back behind the door and had difficulty working with Obi-Wan.
Pairings: Obi-Wan Kenobi
Powers and Abilities:
Powers
"You taught yourself to use the Force?
"No, my parents did...my real parents, a long time ago" - Mace Windu and Miraria.
Force Power: Force powers are the manifestations of a Force-sensitive being's connection with the Force, an energy field that surrounds and bound together everything in existence. The nature and practice of such abilities were usually taught to learners by experienced practitioners, such as the Jedi and the Sith. Some techniques required a deep connection with either the light side or the dark side of the Force, but many were not specific to either affinity. The Force was practiced as a form of magic by some groups, such as the Witches of Dathomir, Nightsisters, Mind-witches, and users of Sith magic and Sith alchemy.
- Telepathy: As one of the most powerful telepaths in the universe (according to Yoda), Miraria has a wide array of telepathic powers. An example would be when Miraria scans a person's brain and finds any information she needs, including memories. She can also telepathically communicate with others (namely Anakin) and even influence non-sentiments, such as animals. It is possible that with proper training, she could really push her ability further than any force-user has ever pushed it.
- Force-Enchantment: Miraria can enchant victims by making physical contact and then grab hold of their mind, forcing them to fight on her behalf or obey her whims.
- Mental Manipulation: Miraria can easily compel a weak-willed person to engage in combat for her or believe whatever she tells them by merely touching them. However, someone with a strong will may be able to resist. Upon touching someone, Miraria can trap them in an illusion created from their own memories, forcing them to relive past events. This effect persists even after physical contact is broken and lasts until the memory playback ends, at which point the victim loses consciousness. While touching them, Miraria can view their memories and even insert herself into the illusion, allowing her to interrogate them in an environment where they'll be more compliant and willing to reveal information.
- Force Push: Force push is used to repel objects or people, moving them away from the user. It could be used to varying degrees, from simply pressing against or softly moving targets away from the user, to shoving and staggering them, to knocking them backwards or to the ground, to sending them flying through the air, potentially causing serious injury or even death.
- Force Barrier: Miraria can generate highly durable force barriers
- Clairvoyance: Miraria is capable of feeling and reading things through the Force. Yoda will claim that the Force communicates with her in ways that even he cannot explain.
- Force-Electricity Generation: Miraria has, a few times, used Force-Electricity when working on projects including ships, droids, and other mechanics, mostly to give them a boost of power.
- Force-Choke: Used only once, when angry, Miraria Force-Choked Watto. She quickly realised what she was doing and stopped.
- Force-Protection: Miraria's mind is impenetrable unless she first breaches a mind creating a bridge between her mind and another. This only lasts whilst she is connected to them and her mind is closed off again when she pulls that connection back.
Abilities:
"You are the strongest, most fearless person I've ever met, and you never back down." - Anakin to Mira
Master bo-staff/stick-fighter: Miraria's weapon of choice is a pair of extendable batons that combine to form into a bo-staff and she has demonstrated great skill in both stick-fighting and bo-staff fighting.
Acrobatics/Free-running: Miraria is very nimble and agile, meaning she can manoeuvre herself around ships with ease. She is capable of scaling buildings and even running from rooftop to rooftop with ease. There is likely some level of Force aspect to this allowing her to do Force-enhanced acrobatic maneuvers.
Master Engineer and Mechanic: Miraria is an extremely talented and prolific engineer, mechanic, and droid technician.
Master Hacker: Miraria is an extremely skilled hacker.
Honed senses: Miraria is able to instantly notice danger in her environment. Possibly a part of being force-sensitive.
Master hand-to-hand combatant/Martial artist: Miraria is an exceptional combatant. Even able to defeat multiple enemies both armed and unarmed whilst seemingly untrained.
Multilingual: Miraria is capable of fluently speaking Galactic Basic Standard, Huttese, droid binary language, and likely others she has picked up as a slave and a scrapper.
Belongings:
Scrappers Armour/Uniform: Miraria's primary outfit consisted of black trousers and top, with an armoured black chestplate with golden metal, along with black boots. She often wears a black cloak with dark green lining, and long black fingerless gloves.
Expandable batons: Miraria uses a pair of expandable batons which could combine into a bo-staff in battle as her main weapon
Necklace: Miraria wears a High Republic necklace given to her by Dagan.
Horned Helmet: Miraria has a horned helmet, which has a broken horn, that she can also use it as weapon in fight, this is likely made of scraps from ships she scavenges from.
Scrapper Goggles: Used to protect her eyes when working.
Scrapper Kit: A bunch of tools that Miraria uses to scrap ships and used to work on mechanics and droids.
BD-1 Droid: Rescued from scrap and then repaired, Miraria has a BD unit.
Lightsaber (Eventually): Miraria, whilst not joining the Jedi Order, will still have a lightsaber. Much like her batons, this will be a split saber capable of being wielded as a double-bladed saber or two single sabers or even as one single saber. It is black in design and features a dark green blade.
Valknut: The Valknut is a starship that was built on the orders of Queen Padme Amidala for Miraria after aiding in liberating Naboo from the Federation.
"She'll make point five past lightspeed." - Padme explains the Valknut's lightspeed capabilities to Miraria
Internal Layout:
- Research 'Work' Room: The Research Room, commonly called her work room by Miraria, here she can receive and send intel, send communications through a secure network, and upgrade her weapons, droid, or armour from a workbench and the holographic projector table she offers a representation of the location pertinent to Miraria's current, previous, or next destination. From here she can also make holographic video calls.
- Tech Lab: One of Miraria's favourite spots on her starship, the tech lab is set up for technological experiments, alterations, and deconstruction. It has a much lived-in feel to it as Miraria, when not working or flying, practically lives in here.
- Bio Lab: A shut-off portion of the Valknut. Though it was in fact built, Miraria has no use for a bio lab, so the doors to it have never been unlocked.
- Engineering: The engineering room houses the ahip's drive core.
- Armory: Miraria's armoury, where weapons and armour are stored while off-job. Whilst she is the only one that uses the ship, there are a number of lockers that can be used. Implying that Padme intended on Miraria having a crew.
- Med Bay: The med bay has beds armed with a variety of medical equipment to diagnose and treat potential injuries. Miraria doesn't often make use of this but does keep it stocked and ready to go just in case she ever does.
- Cargo Bay: Self-explanatory, the cargo bay is used to carry cargo. Though for smaller and more 'sensitive' packages, she will use one of the numerous hidden storage panels around the rest of the ship. There is also a ramp here used to leave the ship when there are no facilities for using the airlock and also to bring aboard larger cargo items.
- Crew's quarters (Main): Despite not having a crew, the Valknut does have the space for them, reinforcing the theory that it was built for a full crew. In the lower bowels of the ship are the crew quarters, the main and the spare, along with Miraria's cabin. There are eight individual rooms to be used by the main crew members, when not in use Miraria uses it for extended storage. Each room is equipped with a bed, a mirror and a dresser, and their doors can be labelled through a holo-panel next to each door.
- Common Area (Crew): A roughly circular room with two large windows, in its centre is a Display Table with gold and green-cushioned seating to its sides. There are also some hanging potted plants and a terminal to play music all over the ship. The main crew quarters wrap around this area, leaving room for a corridor, one of which is to access the spare crew quarters, bathroom, and further down, Miraria's cabin. There are actually nine doors that lead off of this room, eight are for the crew quarters and the last is for the galley. The Crew Info Board is found here. There's also space for a coffee machine and a desk for computer work on opposite sides.
- Crew Quarters (Spare): The spare crew quarters have two wall-set bunks in an area with ample space and greenery. This is meant to be used if there are more than eight crew members, plus the captain. It hasn't been touched since it was built.
- Bathrooms: Adjacent to the spare crew quarters are two bathrooms with a shower system separate from the single toilet along with a sink and a mirror.
- Captain's Cabin: Miraria's cabin is the exclusive abode of the ship's commander. Amenities present include a sitting room, a music system, a wardrobe, display shelves for items of personal choice (in Miraria's case, a collection of ship figurines), a window of space taking up an entire side, and a far larger living quarters compared to the crew's. There is also a large fish tank (which is currently empty) the glass of which can darken to double as a screen for visual communications.
- Galley: The galley functions as the ship's kitchen and dining facility. An L-shaped seater with a table opposite the cooking area plus a couple of swivel chairs forms the room's structural arrangement.
- Bridge: This is where Miraria steers the ship from her captain's chair. The bridge also has a wide viewing area displaying the universe ahead. There are five seats on the bridge for use by crew members, though due to Miraria piloting the ship alone, these are rarely ever used. Only the Captain's chair can steer the Valknut, while the crew stations are equipped with tactile screens: one is connected to the ship's navigation, one oversees communications, one is that of tactical and weapons systems, and the last is a science station linked to the Valknut's external scanners. Whilst Miraria is alone, all those stations are forwarded to her captain's station.
- Escape Pods: Normally used for the purpose its name suggests but Miraria sometimes dries her laundry in here.
- Airlock: This is where people disembark the ship when connected to a space station or spaceport.
- Laundry: A small room that contains a laundry machine. This is next to the escape pods.
