Pre-Life:

Jane and Alec had a short term relationship whilst he was attending the N-School as a guest instructor and Jane was there doing her own N-7 training. Their relationship ended when She graduated and moved on, but then later found out about her pregnancy.

Now back on the Citadel, Alec attempted to persuade Jane to join him and re-establish their relationship for the sake of their child, though Jane was against this as she didn't want to be in a relationship simply because they had a child together. She wouldn't keep the child from Alec, but she didn't want it to be the reason for a relationship. He eventually agreed.

Birth:

Maeve was born on the Citadel where Jane had spent the last month of her pregnancy working alongside Alec and the Alliance from a desk. Jane hated this position and six months after Maeve's birth, she returned to working aboard starships. Due to Jane's postings and military career, Maeve was mostly raised by her father, on the Citadel, and then eventually on Earth and Jane would visit when she was able to.

Not long after Maeve's birth, Alec met Ellen who would later become his wife and mother of a set of twins. Maeve's younger half-siblings. Despite Maeve coming from Alec's previous relationship, Ellen took to the young girl as her own child. And given that Maeve spent a lot of time with Alec in her youth, it made being away from Jane easier. Two years after Maeve's birth, Scott and Sara were born.

When young, Maeve was accidentally exposed to element zero later resulting in her having biotics.

Maeve proved to be a biotic prodigy, able to quickly control and develop her own skills without formal training, though this became dangerous and unpredictable as she breached her teen years.

Her biotics had been proven strong enough to rip a shuttle apart. Jane contacted Admiral Hackett for advice and help in finding something suitable for her daughter. Hackett recommended the Alliance's and Citadel Council's Valkyrie Program, and Maeve was sent to an asari commando training unit on the Citadel when she was sixteen where she has been training ever since.

Following Shepard's death, the Council started an interspecies commando team in her honour. This team would be made up of Council species and work much like Spectres. Maeve was asked to join, as Shepard's daughter and a powerful biotic. Their leader is an asari matriach. Alongside, Maeve there is also a female turian and a male salarian.

Maeve currently lives on the Ciatdel in an apartment set up for her commando team and she shares her living space with her teammates. She has become disillusioned in recent months, perhaps finally coming out of her grief has made her view the team and the Council with clearer eyes and she is looking to leave.

Personality and traits

Considered to be free-spirited and adventurous with a sarcastic sense of humor, Maeve is a determined and stubborn young woman.

Through her learning with the asaris, Maeve has come a long way in accepting her biotics and developing a battle mind that pushes her to fight when needed to, and she is regarded as a promising young warrior by those around her.

Maeve is welcoming to cooperation, friendships, and alliances with other races, citing the benefits they could have and giving humanity more allies.

I will be altering the Andromeda Initiative timeline slightly, instead of departing the Milky Way in 2185 they will be leaving in 2186, pushed into leaving because of the Reaper Invasion on Earth. Maeve will be injured on Mars, taking either Ashley or Kaidan's place at that time, but it will push Alec into begging her to come with him. Like he's tried to persuade her in the past, but she's always wanted to stay because of the Reapers and because of Jane. Jane has always been against it, because why would she want to send her only child to another galaxy, away from her, forever. But this time, Jane agrees with Alec, she wants her daughter far away from the threat. To give her a shot at surviving this mess.

She won't leave until after the Citadel attack and Thane's death, with him encouraging her to go and explore some new galaxy, to keep her heart open and not to sink into her grief as he once did.
