- Persuaded by Aro, Gabriella believes that Demetri is her mate, a way for Aro to control her into staying with the Volturi. This bond was strengthened by Chelsea and her power to manipulate bonds between people. Demetri does actually care for Gabriella though.

Bio:

Gabriella Cullen was born in 1658 in London, England to Carlisle and Enyo. Single-handedly raised by Carlisle for the first five years of her life, up until his 'death', upon which she was raised by Carlisle's brother, Gabriel, after whom she was named.

As she grew up, Gabriella's demigod powers began to manifest, gaining the attention of Aro and the Volturi.

Aro sent Demetri to watch and gain Gabriella's trust before taking her to Italy where Aro spent time with her, believing that her powers would transfer into vampirism, he turned her.

When Carlisle visited Volterra, Aro made sure to keep Gabriella occupied elsewhere, sending her and Demetri on a dud errand, implicating that he knew the relationship between Carlisle and Gabriella.

Gabriella is the only vampire within the Volturi that feeds from animal blood. It is unknown why. 

Personality:

Gabriella is exceptionally brilliant, quick-witted, and disciplined. She always takes precautions before acting and is the type of person who disapproved of taking considerable risks. Gabriella has a soft side for those who seek knowledge and tries to help them as much as she can.

In battle, Gabriella is a fierce, astute, and extremely unpredictable warrior and tactician. Despite her calm and reserved demeanour, she could become intensely focused in a duel, to the extent where one could easily believe that she and her sparring partner were actually fighting to the death.

An example of this is when she sparred with Demetri so viciously that a concerned Aro intervened.

Abilities

As a child of an Olympian, and being turned into a vampire, Gabriella is a very powerful individual. On top of the usual vampire powers, Gabriella has the following abilities:

Strategy Skill: Gabriella is naturally extremely skilled in strategy, tactics and statistics of war, possibly why Aro likes to keep her close.

Odikinesis: Gabriella has absolute control over the feelings and emotions of war, such as hate and rage. She frequently induces these feelings to orchestrate the destruction of cities.

Prowess in Battle: Gabriella is a fierce warrior. She is a master of both armed and hand-to-hand combat.

Telumkinesis: Gabriella has absolute control and divine authority over weapons. She knows everything about a weapon as soon as she sees it.

- Ability identification: As Aro and the Volturi consider vampire gifts as weapons, Gabriella has seeming developed a secondary power to her telumkinesis, she is capable of instinctively perceiving the type and strength of supernatural gifts of vampires and humans alike. She does not need to touch the other person, only be in close proximity. Very similar to Eleazar's ability, only to a much higher strength, she doesn't need to concentrate so hard on an individual and can sense an ability by simply making eye contact with an individual. 

Battle Precognition: Gabriella seems to have a sixth sense regarding the trajectory of assaults in the heat of combat. Similar to Alice's ability, only Gabriella can only see strategies and outcomes of battles.

Tracking Skills: Gabriella can find anyone anywhere in the world once she's been in their presence and "tasted" their mind. This is why she is usually paired with Demetri.

Immense Strength: Gabriella possesses colossal physical strength, Aro claims that she shows strength beyond any vampire he's met before. She had vampire level strength before becoming a vampire.

Warfare Expertise: Gabriella is an expert in all areas of warfare.

Fear Inducement: Gabriella can evoke and increase fear and horror in others causing the target's brain to release fear-inducing chemicals. The target's perception may be altered, causing them to see their environment as ominous and Gabriella as dark and foreboding, or even as a monster.
