Notes:

#1 I know that we don't see 'Special Agents' in Shield, but given that all other agencies have them, I would put them in this. With higher levelled agents, like Clint, Phil, Melinda etc. Basically anyone that's level 7 clearance and above. Which does mean that Nat and Steve don't qualify as they are only level 6.

#2 NCIS timeline change. Just to line things up, NCIS events happen 3 years later than their timeline. Kelly Gibbs would have been born in 1985 instead of 1982. This will pick up during season 6 of NCIS, set in 2011 instead of 2008. Just because NCIS started a lot earlier than the MCU. Kelly and Shannon's deaths in 1991, has to take place that year due to Gibbs being part of Desert Storm. So Kelly was only 6 when she died instead of 8. (She must have died before her birthday in 1991 if she was only 8 instead of 9)

Bio (Subjective):

- Obviously this would change depending on her face claim and family. But this is written with her being Gibbs and Shannon's biological daughter, with her being born in 1987.

Charlotte's parents, Jethro and Shannon Gibbs, got married in December 1984 and she was born in 1987, two years after the birth of her younger sister Kelly.

Not much is known about her life, except she was primarily raised in the D.C area.

In 1991, her father was fighting in Desert Storm in Kuwait. At the same time, her mother witness a shooting of a Marine in Oceanside, and she identified the killer as Pedro Hernandez, a Mexican drug dealer working out of Camp Pendleton. Shannon agreed to testify against him. An NIS agent was assigned to protect the Charlotte, Shannon, and Kelly, but Hernandez shot him in the head while he was driving. The agent - Kurt Mitchell - was killed instantly. Kelly and Shannon were both killed in the following car crash and Charlotte ended up in a coma for six months, but ultimately survived the crash. Kelly was only six years old.

During his deployment in Desert Storm, Jethro received the news that both Shannon and Kelly had been murdered. Being understandably grief-stricken and devastated, he was wounded during an engagement and was left comatose for nineteen days. As he had been wounded in combat with an enemy force, Jethro was then awarded the Purple Heart medal.

Jethro was an in-patient at Bethesda up until June of 1991. During his recovery process, Jethro visited the graves of his dead wife and daughter who were buried while he was in a coma. He also visited Charlotte who was still in the hospital herself.

They did have a memorial service for Shannon and Kelly, however, once Charlotte and Jethro were physically well enough to attend.

Following this, Charlotte was primarily raised by Phil Coulson, her uncle, whilst Jethro finished up with the Marines, under the promise that he would be around for her more once his duty was finished.

This would eventually be proven untrue and he would become far busier over the years. After finishing his duty to the Marine Corps, Jethro joined the Naval Investigative Service, he subsequently became a Probationary Agent with Mike Franks handling most of Jethro's training.

Charlotte would only see Jethro four times a year from this point on till her 16th birthday. Those dates being her birthday, Thaksgiving, Christmas, and the day that Shannon and Kelly died where they would meet at the cemetery where they are buried. After her 16th, this dwindled to once a year.

During this time, Charlotte had a number of step-mothers, of whom she didn't get along with any of them, opting to run away from home many times throughout the years, and returning to Phil Coulson who became her safe harbour and father-figure during the years.

- Joining SHIELD:

After graduation, Charlotte pursued an MD/PhD at Stanford University School of Medicine. Charlotte conducted research in genetic engineering at Stanford. Despite her intelligence and academic results, Charlotte grew up a troubled young woman who used hard-partying and heavy drinking to cope with her insecurities and troubles. This escalated to the point where she began falling behind in school and was placed on academic probation. In 2005, after a night of drinking and clubbing led to a DUI and her arrest, Charlotte was visited by Phil in jail. He offered her a position at the SHIELD.

- Working for SHIELD:

Charlotte had to go through a full year of training before being allowed to work in the field. Despite her father being Jethro Gibbs, NCIS special agent, and her uncle being a SHIELD special agent, being two of the main reasons the SHIELD hired her, Charlotte soon proved herself as one of SHIELD's best agents.

Personality:

Charlotte is a courageous and independent person, who faces danger head on. She is caring, confident, and headstrong. Despite her good traits, sometimes Charlotte can be impulsive and prone to make difficult decisions crossing the line between right and wrong (some might even classify her as morally grey). She has a great sense of justice.

Above all, Charlotte is a strong woman, she fights for what she believes in and has a difficult time giving up. She has been referenced as being a "bad-ass" by many people.

Charlotte can easily come off as being distant, rude, brutal, snarky and sarcastic. If aggravated or extremely annoyed by someone in her disfavor, Charlotte could become an intimidating figure. Beneath her hard-bitten demeanor, however, lies a more vulnerable side, plagued by self-loathing and deep-seated insecurity. Though she openly refuses to identify herself as the sort, Charlotte does show signs of heroism as she is deeply sympathetic towards the victims of crimes.

Charlotte is a highly independent woman and shows no interest in being in a serious relationship, likely due to the fear that that individual will be taken away from her.

Ultimately, she refuses to allow herself or her friends be disrespected by anyone. To the few people she cares about, she defends them fiercely, but also keeps her distance from them so as to not have them become collateral damage.

Charlotte is known for doing whatever is necessary to protect those she cares about. She is very prone to giving second chances, does not believe in no-win scenarios, and has been shown as entirely willing to be tortured and torture or killed and kill in defence of her family and friends.

The entirety of Charlotte's character is hard to distinguish based on how she tricks and lies to people for a living as a SHIELD agent. She is capable of convincingly portraying friendly and flirtatious, timid, vulnerable, and scared. For the most part, she is a level-headed, strong-willed, and independent woman.

Charlotte normally maintains a controlled, almost emotionless persona to keep whatever she is thinking a secret unless she is around people she absolutely trusts.

Though a very serious woman, Charlotte is by no means stuffy and has a sarcastic sense of humor, which mostly surfaces when she is with Clint and Natasha, both of whom she is comfortable around.

Charlotte is very smart and loyal which is displayed when she makes good on the debts she owes.

While tough and at times ruthless, she is still a good person and can be quite heroic in her own right. And no matter how injured she gets, Charlotte will go out her way to make sure others are out of harm's way.

Protective suit: SHIELD made Charlotte a tactical suit, similar to that of other female agents in design, though Charlotte's is the only suit that comes in white and is fitted with magnets so that Charlotte is able to force her gun and her batons back to her. These are a prototype feature.
