Bio:

Ashara Tharmr was born in 9:17 Dragon in the kingdom of Waloed, the daughter of Damion Amell and Siona Tharmr. She is the adopted niece and adopted daughter of Barnabas Tharmr, and the descendant of Fen'Harel and Falura.

Damion was a travelling salesman who had approached the borders of Waloed. Barnabas sent his sister Siona to intercept and divert him as with all the traders that came before him. However, Siona found herself drawn to Damion and directed him to a near-by tavern where they ate and drank together whilst forging a bond. Damion would stay at the inn for the next month with Siona visiting him as much as she could slip away from her overbearing brother.

When Barnabas discovered Siona and Damion relationship and Siona's pregnancy, he forbid his sister from returning to him and even paid Damion to go back to the Free Marches. Desperate to provide for his ageing parents, he took the money but left two letters, one for Siona, and one for his unborn child, which were promptly hidden by Barnabas.

Shortly after the birth of Ashara, Siona planned to leave Waloed and join Damion in Kirkwall, however, Barnabas discovered the draconic scales behind Ashara's ear that marked her as a Dominant and refused to allow Siona to take her away. When Siona continued with her plan, Barnabas killed his sister and decided to raise Ashara as his own daughter.

Lore Note: In 9:21, the first signs of a coming Blight started to show in the Northern Territories. The Grey Wardens theorised that Urthemiel had been slumbering in the Deep Roads beneath the Northern Territories when he was tainted, leading to an explosion of the taint through the lands above. However it would be Southern Ferelden that would see the emergence of the Darkspawn and Urthemiel. In fact, Darkspawn have never been seen in the lands of Valisthea, Solas will later theorise that this is due to the presence of the Dominants.

During Ashara's childhood, Waloed housed a number of blighted crystals as Barnabas researched the Blight. It was during this time that Ashara snuck into Barnabas' study where she cut her hand on one of the blight-tainted crystal, Red Lyrium. The infection began to spread fast, with Ashara unable to even make it to her feet. She began to cry. Ultima appeared before her, drawn to her crying. Recognising Ultima as the man that Barnabas and his people worshipped, and she herself had been pushed into worshipping, she attempted to kneel before him, however she was unable to move. Instead, he knelt at her side and healed her of the Blight, but he also awakened her as the Dominant of Falura.

The Dominant of Falura is the Eikon made in the image of the ill-fated wife of Fen'Harel.

In the weeks and months that followed her interaction with Ultima, Ashara was prone to magical outbursts and Barnabas brought in mages from across the world to teach her, but they would end up being killed by Ashara by accident and eventually Barnabas stopped finding mages to teach her and instead had Cidolfus teach her.

During her studies, Cid came to care a great deal for Ashara and became disillusioned with Barnabas and his plans to raise Ashara up to become a great weapon for Waloed.

Cid eventually fled Ash with Ashara after having a falling out with Barnabas.

When Cid's friend Otto's son was found to be a Bearer (magic-users who are systematically enslaved on Valisthea), without missing a beat Cid decided to start a movement to save people from this fate.

Cid keeps Ashara close to him knowing that Barnabus will come looking for her, he even gave her an enchanted necklace that prevents her from being tracked by magic.

Lore Note: Ultima himself was in love with Falura. When he found out about her marriage to Fen'Harel, he 'killed' Falura in a jealous rage and then, after, in his grief, created an Eikon in her image that would awaken through her own bloodline in the centuries to follow. Lately in, Ashara Tharmr. This means that Falura is not the same as the other Eikons, in that the Mythos cannot and does not need to absorb an aspect of her.

In reality Falura was imprisoned in the Astral Plane, a newly created realm next to the Fade, created by Ultima for the exact purpose of trapping Falura. Some time later, the Githyanki discovered the Astral Plane and would use it to imprison Orpheus. Falura would later be unshackled by the Emperor, however she would remain trapped within the Astral Plane, but would communicate to Ashara and her companions through the Emperor and the tadpoles they are infected with, even protecting them from other Mind Flayers.

Personality:

A mysterious, mystical, quiet, and beguiling young woman, Ashara has an otherworldly aura and an enchanting charisma to her. She is compassionate, kind, intelligent and deeply curious. She can initially come across as quiet and withdrawn, especially as she is still recovering to what Ironblood did to her and what she did for them.

To those closest to her and those that she utterly trusts, she is generous and kind and can be bold and outspoken, she is not afraid to say what she really thinks of a person.

Ashara is scrappy, resourceful, and not afraid to get into a fight when the occasion calls for it.

Ashara has been known to have a rather short-tempered, especially in regards to women and children, and bearers in general, being wronged, this likely comes from her own experiences.

Ashara can also be emotionally fragile, mostly when she feels trapped, backed into the corner, out of her depth or when she feel like her life is out of her control.

Even alongside all of her kindness, compassion, and empathy, Ashara is still also a rogue at heart, and when someone she cares about is hurt, becomes far more relentless and ruthless. Ashara can also react indigently and negatively towards people who disrespect her or those that she cares about.

Since a young age, Ashara has developed a tendency towards escapism. She would often engulf herself in the imaginary world of books as a way to shelter herself from her reality.

Powers:

Magic: Ashara was born with natural magical abilities, however these were heightened when she awoke as the Dominant of Falura. She awoke as the Dominant after interaction with blight-tainted crystal and Ultima. This is what makes her powerful enough to stand against a Dominant such as Titan.

- Ashara doesn't make use of a staff. She can make simple gestures with her hands to cast.

- Her magic seems to react as an extension of Ashara, more so than other mages and magic. This is seen in most Dominants, except for Clive who has buried his Eikon for 15 years.

- Given how powerful Falura was ans is, in theory, Ashara could be just as powerful as her.

Ancient Elvhen Magic: Able to harness Ancient Elvhen Magic, Ashara can shape and manipulate this magic for different effects, such as forming tangible constructs of energy or cast spells without incantation.

- Nature Magic: Druids channel the elemental forces of nature and share a deep kinship with animals. Mastery of Wild Shape allows them to transform into beasts from all over the world.

- Wolf Conjuration: Ashara can summon green furred wolves with her magic. Whether one, two, or an entire pack, she can use these for scouting or for aid in battle.

- Transmutation: Ashara is able to change the atomic structure of most inanimate objects, such as clothing, beds, chairs, musical instruments etc.

- Teleportation: Ashara is able to teleport herself over short distances, usually around battlefields, but she is capable of teleporting other people too as well as her wolves, usually to get them out of harm's way.

- Magical Energy Manipulation: Ashara can project blasts, streams, waves and bolts of her own magical energy, allowing her to strike, push, pull or blow away her targets, potentially exerting enough force to destroy them. When her energy hits a target, she can use her telekinesis to inflict further damage. Significant emotional turmoil can both amplify Ashara's power and causes her to lose control over it.

- Levitation: Ashara is able to use her magic to move through the air and simulate flight, in order to hover and safely float back to the ground. Ashara's power grows overtime; to the point that she could project herself far higher into the air and for much longer than before.

- Flyrogenesis: Ashara has the magical ability to produce force fields, harnessing her magic and using it to create barriers and fields, which she can make appear in any shape, and with any amount of intensity and force. Ashara is able to create highly durable barriers of green energy that she can shape and manipulate as needed. She can use it to grab and break apart targets, protect others from enemy fire, contain a target or to cover and deflect attacks from enemies. Like any physical barriers, the barrier could be broken with extreme brute force. During her time with the Inquisition, Ashara learned to project her energy around herself, constructing a close-to-the-body psionic armor to protect herself from extreme impacts, such as falls from great heights or blows from superhumanly strong combatants, increasing her durability to a significant degree. This allowed her to land safely whenever she crash lands, as well as defending her against the might of superhuman combatants.

- Full Shield: Ashara can erect a huge green veil shield that protects against physical, bending, and magical attacks.

- Personal Shield: Ashara can use a smaller version of her shield to block attacks, this takes less energy but only covers her.

- Shield Blasts: Ashara has the ability to project her veil shields to cause damage to her opponents.

- Shock Waves: Ashara is capable of using her veil shields as shock waves hitting her opponent.

- Enhanced Strength: Ashara can wrap her knuckles in veil shields, so when she punches it feels as if her enemies are being punched by a brick wall. This grants her an enhanced strength strong enough to knock grown men back and even enough strength to affect Titans.

- Telekinesis: Ashara has the ability to move, levitate and otherwise manipulate objects using her magic. Ashara uses this energy to affect and control molecules and particles, allowing her to fully control matter and energy. Ashara started training this power by moving wooden blocks around on Grisha's instruction.

- Push: Ashara can push away foes in battle, this is usually accompanied by a green flash.

Elemental Manipulation: Ashara is able to manipulate the elements around her from fire to lightning to water and earth. With enough concentration and magical energy she can complete great feats. Accessing these spells produce green results, her lightening is green, her fire is green, even when she is manipulating water it seems to have a green tinge to it, etc. This marks Ashara as unique among the Dominants as she isn't restricted to one single element.

- Veilfire: Ashara can also produce Veilfire.

Healing: Ashara is capable of using her connection to the earth to heal herself and others, though there are certain restrictions, such as the Crystal Curse, though she can soften the pain caused by it for a short period.

Shapeshifting: Ashara is capable of changing her form into that of an animal, though claims that she only did this once by accident as a teen, not long after getting her magic. She transformed into a wolf, which she found herself stuck as for two days before she exhausted herself and her magic and turned back to human.

- Priming: Ashara can transform into the Eikon version of Falura.

- Semi-Prime: Ashara can manifest green wisps from her eyes in her semi-prime form and manifests a magical wooden crown upon her head.

Anchor (eventually): The Anchor refers to the strange glowing green mark that appears on Ashara's left palm after she survives the explosion at the Divine Conclave. Ashara mainly uses the Anchor to disrupt or to permanently seal tears in the Veil, from Fade rifts to the Breach itself.

- Use of the Anchor exhausts Ashara of her magic, meaning it leaves her drained after she has closed a rift. And she will need to rely on her companions for a while after this.

- This anchor will even be visible and capable of being used when Ashara is primed into Falura. It is significantly more powerful and significantly more draining.

Increased Mana Well: Dominants contain a deeper inner pool of mana to draw on for their magic, though it is not limitless, and casting spells once the well has run dry, without the aid of lyrium/aether, causes the Crystal Curse to manifest and spread through their bodies.

Weaknesses:

Distraction: Preventing Ashara from concentrating or giving full attention to her psionics and her spells, may render them ineffective.

Emotion: One of the cardinal rules of magic is that disposition affects execution; this implies that performing spells correctly demands a certain frame of mind.

Overexertion: The excessive use of magic could lead to fatigue, unconsciousness, the depletion of one's reserves of power, the spread of the Crystal Curse, and if taken to the extreme, death.

Cuffs: There are specially made cuffs that drain a mage, and a Dominant, of their magic, leaving them weak and vulnerable.

Templar Smite: As a mage, Ashara and the other Dominants are weak to the Templar Smite, where they drain the mana out of a mage leaving them powerless. This basically has the same effect as the cuffs. Though there are no Templars in Valisthea or Faerun.

Red Lyrium: Red Lyrium, as with most people, is poisonous to those that come into contact with it, and even simply being in its presence. Ashara seems to have a higher sensitivity to red lyrium, likely due to her being infected by a blighted crystal when she was a child.

Crystal Curse: As a mage, Ashara, and the other Dominants, are susceptible to the Crystal Curse. Using her magic beyond her limit, pushes her magic to the breaking point, slowly petrifies her body.

Abilities:

Arcane Knowledge: As a Bearer and a Dominant, Ashara has deep magical knowledge, though this will grow in the coming years.

Swordsman: Whilst initially Ashara is a poor swordsman, Clive will eventually teach her how to wield one of Cid's swords effectively and she will use a mix of magic and martial skills in battle.

Belongings:

Armour: Ashara wears a green and silver armour that was given to her by Cid and has inspiration from her mother's elvhen heritage

Necklace: Ashara wears a necklace bearing a double 'V' pendant that once belonged to her mother and was given to her by Barnabas. The necklace appears to come from Siona's elven family before she was adopted by the Tharmr family.

Dagger (formerly): As a teen, Ashara carried a dagger that is designed in traditional elven style. This is currently being carried by Cid after Ashara gifted him the blade in thanks for rescuing her from Barnabas.

Lyrium/Aether Belt: Ashara wears a belt capable of holding Lyrium/Aether potions.

Sword (Eventually): Ashara will eventually carry and use one of Cid's swords, this will sit in a holster on her lower back.

Pairing: Leaning towards Cullen and Gale but open to suggestions.

Lore Notes:

Crystal Curse:

Slight change to this for the sake of the crossover. All mages are susceptible to this condition. It occurs when mages push their magic beyond their mana limit without the aid of lyrium. When a mage feels 'empty' their mana limit has been reached, forcing themselves to continue to produce magic without the aid of lyrium, will cause the crystal curse to spread and petrify parts of their body.

Magic and Elements:

Whilst Dominants have access to a single element, except for Falura, all mages have access to all elements. Despite this, the Dominants are far stronger and more gifted at a single element than an ordinary mage could ever hope to be. E.g, a mage might be able to summon a fireball at the top of his limit, but the Dominant of Phoenix and Ifrit can summon a firestorm.

Mothercrystals:

Mothercrystals are only found in Valisthea after the Tevinter Imperium mined all of the known Mothercrystals on the mainland, and the Quanri destroyed all of theres. They are actually huge lyrium deposits and the Blight is not caused by the crystals in Valisthea but caused by the blight-tainted lyrium (red lyrium) inside the crystals.

Lyrium:

Lyrium and Aether are one and the same thing, just different cultural terms for it. Lyrium is more expensive in Valisthea due to there being no mining in the area, due to a lack of Dwarven strongholds, and it has to be shipped from Ferelden or the Free Marches. Only the wealthiest of magical users, or owners of bearers, can afford Lyrium shipments and many in Valisthea will not give Bearers lyrium potions for fear of giving them to much power, hence why the Crystal Curse is more common.

The Fallen:

The Fallen are the Ancient Elves, but again, just different terms for them.

Bearers:

Bearers and mages are obviously the same, but different cultural terms.

Crystals:

Crystals remain the same, though they are isolated to Valisthea given their rarity and expense. Much in the same way that lyrium potions are seen to be more common on the mainland. That's not to say that there aren't crystals on the mainland, they are just expensive and therefore seen among the upper class who often use them as a show of wealth. Some mages with status, such as Madame De Fer, also make use of crystals in their staves.

Elves:

Elves exist in Valisthea and are treated the same as humans (So there are no alienages as are seen), and as such those with magic suffer the same fate as their human counterparts. They are treated as they are in Faerun.

Ferelden and the related countries are the only ones that treat elves the way that they do.

There are Dalish clans, but unlike their mainland counterparts, especially in the Duchy of Rosaria before the death of Elwin, they were very present and social with the rest of the realm. Following the invasion and following inclusion of Rosaria into the Imperial province of Sanbreque, they are reclusive and isolate themselves from the others due to the treatment of Bearers, though are known to be very close with Cid the Outlaw, with many Dalish joining the Hideaway after the Imperial culling of Bearers or escaping into Faerun.

Ultima and Falura:

Ultima and Falura were Elven Gods much like Mythal and Fen'Harel were. The Great Betrayal, that saw the elven gods locked away, was said to have begun with Falura's death, followed by the death of Mythal which is rumoured to have also been Ultima or at least orchestrated by him.

Dominant Ancestry:

All Dominants have bloodlines that lead back to the Elven Pantheon. In Ashara's case, her bloodline goes all the way back to Falura and Fen'Harel. Shiva and Bahamut's bloodline traces back to Elgar'nan and Mythal (Husband and Wife). Garuda and Odin can be traced to Falon'Din and Dirthamen (Twin brothers). Titan to Andruil. Phoenix, Ifrit and Ramuah to Sylaise and June (Husband and Wife). Leviathan to Ghilan'nain.

- As Andruil and June are said to be siblings, their bloodline holds the most Dominants in Titan, Phoenix, Ifrit, and Ramuah. And Falura and Fen'Harel have the least Dominants in their bloodline, with one between them.

All Dominants are born with Draconic Ancestory as well, and this is what marks them as Dominants, not just them having the tell tale scales but because of the location of them. Situated behind the ears.

Mana Well:

Dominants contain a deeper inner pool of mana to draw on for their magic and to semi-prime, and prime, though it is not limitless, and casting spells once the well has run dry, without the aid of lyrium/aether, causes the Crystal Curse to manifest and spread through them.
