Walter Avery
Walter is our main protagonist, and we follow the adventure through his eyes.
As a boy, aged sixteen, but barely so, he is often ignored by adults, who would consider him and his youth inconsequential. This allows for him to witness and eavesdrop upon many ignorant adults.
Walter Avery thinks of himself as a man. In his narrative, you will find that he addresses himself as such. "A man needs to eat." However, the adults around him continue, obliviously, to call him, 'boy', or 'child'.
Species: Human - (Praedorian)
Age: 16
Three-Word Personality: Curious, Naive, Moral
Height: 5'6"
Upbringing: Raised by a widowed mother in a reclusive cottage at the outskirts of a small town. His father's name and reputation precede him always, and he has often found himself standing up to peers to protest his own innocence. Henry Avery was a known deserter of the Praedor navy, and an even better known pirate. Walter would rather make a name for himself.
Ship's Duty: Cabin boy, reserve powder monkey
Choice Weapon: Pistol-gripped rapier
Status on Alcohol: Timid, and disapproving
Personality: Walter Avery is, though he doesn't believe himself to be, naive. He calls himself a man, but is a boy. He considers himself just as wise as the adults around him. He's lived a sheltered life, and as a result is a little bit racist, a little bit wondrous, and a great deal curious. At first, he can't place what it is that stops him from crying, but it comes out soon enough.
